In US news and current events today, 2020 election candidates went head to head at the tense Last Vegas democratic debate this week ahead of the Nevada caucus. In this heated moment, Michael Bloomberg called Bernie Sanders a communist. Is Bernie Sanders a communist? No, he's a self-defined Democratic socialist. Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, and Joe Biden also took the debate stage.

Bloomberg in the same debate accuses Sanders of being a communist AND being a capitalist for owning 3 houses.
Sanders is a conservative communist. He conserves his money, and shares yours. 👍😂
@@RobertsIslandLivingAdventures Wow, nice parroting of obvious propaganda.
His Republican hypocrisy showed
He simply called him out for not practicing what he preaches. He preaches $15 an HR and didn't even pay his employees $15 an HR and now he begged for volunteers instead of paying his fare share to his own campaign and living in three houses. He's a hypocrite.

@Berserker They were clapping because they are stupid morons? Yeah, that makes a whole lot of sense... have you ever thought that maybe they just agree with what the candidate is saying?
Yup, just blind sheep, following which ever direction the wind blows. I mean look how many support Bloomberg... the guy literally stands for nothing... How can 15% of the entire party support him... Because they recognize him off of the TV and know he's rich? Thats literally their criteria for choosing someone. Pathetic. Also look how much poll numbers change after one debate... At this point you'd kind of expect people to have a pretty good idea of who they support. Instead people think this is the WWE and will just change their vote on a whim if they see a good attack at a debate. Americans are just so dumb it amazes me.
@@foskco87 I am in no way supporting Bloomberg here, but the stereotype of Americans being dumb isn't all that true. America has been home to some of the brightest minds in the entire world. You should be grateful that we get the education that we do get, and while nothing in America is perfect and never will be, it is still better than many countries around the world. Be glad that you live here (Assuming you do). I feel like as Americans some of us have become perfectionists. Perfectionism isn't an inherently bad thing and it can help promote change, however it has gotten to the point where so many citizens today are pessimistic about our society when they really shouldn't be.

Imagine being a communist for thinking 10 people shouldn’t hold more than literally half the planet
No its communist to think cashiers at mcdonalds should have 20 percent of control over the business
@@PieEater well employees make are 85% of the business
@@Ebravo3343 what does that have to do with anything
@Leonardo Viegas ya thats a good idea I suppose but there isn't any control there
@@PieEater The holding of a company’s stock is the ownership of a company.
If u own 20% of all volume of stock of Apple, u will be invited to their board, as a person who owns 20% of the company.
So when a company is distributing its share to its employee, doesn’t matter if it is public traded or not, it is giving out its ownership to its employee. If all of amazon employee owns 20% of Amazon’s share (which is probably tiny when u break it down to individual level), individually they will still not hold any significance in the board whatsoever, so no individual worker can hold any sway in corporate decision. It is a strategy some company used to motivate its workers, since now their assets will not only be raised based on their salaries, but also how the company perform in general (so the stock he owns can be more expensive).
What the guy suggested is making this motivation strategy mandatory. Some companies won’t be affected at all. And it is not even “giving 20% of control to the base line worker”, unless all workers suddenly form a structured inner guild with proper agenda within their company, which is not going to happen. The cashier in your local MacDonald is not going to suddenly have a sway on what the next international expansion will be or how many new store they will require to compete with other fast food chain, that is not how business work.
If it is communism there will be no stock market to begin with.

All of europe: guess i̶'̶l̶l̶ ̶d̶i̶e̶ i'm a communist
Ownership of companies isn’t transferred to workers through a state mandate in any European country. European countries are generally more social democratic, with more taxes, large welfare programs, and a good standard of healthcare, but income inequality is still very much there, and every nation employs capitalist markets, even if those markets are more social than the ones in the US.
What I’m trying to say is that Bernie’s measures surpass those that most western nations have. By attempting to redistribute the means of production from the ruling classes to the proletariat, Bernie Sanders is actually engaging in socialist praxis, as socialism is normally defined by the democratic ownership of means of production, and thus straying even further left than every European country, with exception of the communist state of Transnistria.

The only thing I wish Bernie would do, is change the term “Democratic Socialism” to “Social Democracy” I think that’s a more accurate term to describe his policies
I know, it drives me crazy:)
Can't do it now. This ship sailed when he called himself a socialist and won his first congress election 30 year ago. Or maybe the when he became mayor 40 years ago. Now if he tried it they would call him a secret lying socialist and it would actually be the best attack against him cause it would attack his consistency and credibility which are 2 of the best attributes he has(election wise).

Most Democrats are barely left many are in the right politically
The Democratic Party is concentrated on the right, the republicans are more to the right though

@@Oskar_464 when did bernie advocate for giving the means of productions to workers? i only remember him talking about healthcare and social democratic policies
What was Bloomberg even doing here?😂
If educating the population and giving them health care is “Communism”, then I’ll happily be called a “Commie”!
Angus Mac commie
too bad the real communist is bloomberg. he wants american wages to be lowered because its easier to control the people when theyre poor.
you like the public education system in US....? cause that is where the healthcare system if going, right in the toilet.
@@No1More1Mr1Nice1Guy1 Newsflash, the healthcare system is already in the toilet, with millions of medical bankruptcies, and over 45,000 Americans dying every year, because they refused to get medical attention due to the costs and the fear of going bankrupt. That is why Bernie wants to take it out of the toilet, with a single payer system that removes the insurance middle men, price gouging Americans, inflating costs, creating medical chaos, and denying healthcare with insane policies and networks.
How everyone bashes on communism but nobody has read Das Kapital oh well...

What's Bloomberg doing here?
Dude is very rich
He's digging his own grave wtf
“I worked hard telling other people what work to do.”
I working hard to I don't want to paid higher taxes for free
Someone needs to make a meme with The Rock saying it doesn't matter what you think Bloomberg!
“It wasn’t you who made all that money, maybe your workers played some role in that as well.”. They did. And they got paid for their work. If he wasn’t providing the job he paid them to do, they’d have no job and no money
Exactly. But the more important part is, that the owner of the company took the risk to start a company. They had to accumulate the money, rent the working place & start the business in the first place! They took the risk to start the company. If it fails, then they are carrying the losses, NOT THE WORKERS. Bernie wants the workers to receive the benefits, but not the loss.
If the company fails, the workers can find a new job. Their life is not ruined if they lose their job. Its the owner of the company who needs to pay back loans.
One major issue they bring in table is the wage is not equivalent to the contribution. Evaluating one's argument points based on a 3 min video is amature.
@@Nick21012 If a company fails, the owner can build a new company just like the worker can find a new job. Both are equally easy.
@@so_cht No they are both not equally easy, and it is completely stupid to believe that it is.
If you start a business you will need investors to give you money & start the company. The owner of the company needs to set up machines, rent the working place, find insurances and so many other things. The worker just looks for a company, applies and (hopefully) gets accepted. Thats the first part. The owner of the company has to make sure so many different things are completed before he/she can even start to hire people.
If the company goes bankrupt, the owner of the company has to pay back all of his debt. The worker does not. Its not as easy as you think, mate.
@@Nick21012 "Both are equally easy" was used in an opposite sense. It meant , finding a job is a very difficult process in a saturated job market even when you ignore a company is closing. Building a company is a very difficult process in a saturated market. This is like the situation where people used to think that the household work and managing a family is a very easy job compared to a corporate job. They are not.
If one has a fair share in a company, he stands to loose majorly, when the company goes out of business. Be it it's owner or the employees. If that is not the case for either one or both of them, thay did not had a fair share in the company.
as a moderate leaning right i believe we should most definitely raise taxes on the rich but when ppl say they want the rich to just pay for everything that scares me
Taxing the rich doesn’t really work though because the rich always get out of it. I do agree with you though that the rich can’t pay for everything
@@reaperbot It doesn't work because it doesn't pay for everything progressives want. American Billionaires have a lot of money, but not enough to pay for these multi trillion dollar deals. And guess where the rest of the money is going to be found...
Uh oh it scares anthonysciabarrasi2611 what are we gonna do now 😢
Bloomberg may has well of just said "vote for Bernie" and walked off the stage

It's not a bad thing
I would be pretty offended
Alex I wouldn’t considering no one even knows what communism means these days
i get you guys, but imo communism isn't bad. the communism people think about isn't communism but stalinism.
i heard that communism is actually pretty cool

Bernie Sanders the man who deserved to be president

@@JustinElliott1 yes because the accountant should be also be calling shots for the marketing department.
@@kp5602 ok, clearly you don't understand capitalism do you? Here's how it works. I am your boss, you are my employee. You make a candy bar, and you sell it for $5. I keep the $5 and pay you $2. Do you see how that's unfair? That's called labor exploitation. Giving employees a share (even a miniscule) of the company allows the employees to grow with the company, instead of staying on the same rung of the economic ladder.
