Lilith being the first woman is based off of Jewish Folklore, btw~
Most of the show's lore is taken from a variety of Abrahamic Religions and Christian-adjacent Folklore.

@@exenero4305 Lilith was originally from Sanskrit Mythology. The Israelites and Mesopotamians had a lot of territorial disputes and religious differences in ancient times(I say as if they still don`t to this day, ugh seriously fuck religion!) so they demonized their gods and goddesses. The same thing happened to Lucifer himself who, fun fact, also was once a Greek and Roman goddess associated with the planet Venus, music, fertility, wisdom, nature and the sun before the Christians gender-swapped him and used the name as the angelic name of The Devil, look it up I am not kidding here!

@@ChachiSays If you want to get REALLY obscure, there are even stories that Adam had a third unnamed wife between Lilith and Eve, but that story is about as far from canon as you can get. Neil Gaiman makes a reference to the unnamed virgin (Adam never bangs her for reasons) in The Sandman.
Basically, once Lilith peaced out because Adam was being a dick, God created a new wife for him from the dirt, but since Adam was already alive, he saw her being formed from the inside out (skeleton, organs, flesh, skin) and couldn't handle it. Since he wouldn't touch her, God unmade her and put Adam asleep specifically so this wouldn't happen again, and that's when he pulled out Adam's rib to make Eve. Honestly, the more you learn about Adam, the worse he comes off. I mean, we haven't even gotten to what a shitty father he was to Cain, Abel, and Seth. He was literally so bad a father, one of his sons invented murder.
Also, a fun bit in Episode 1 of Hazbin Hotel: in Charlie and Adam's meeting, he's snacking on spare ribs. Dude...

All true, the only thing is that the original writings say an angular organ, not a rib, so the first human probably was intersex and agender. @@michaelmammano-cheydleur2651

As I understand it, the story of Lilith comes from early religious scholars trying to explain what they saw as a contradiction in the book of Genesis
There is a passage where it mentions god making humanity, man and woman. Then a chapter later Adam is described as being alone in the world, so Eve is created to be his wife. Most scholars said this was a more detailed retelling of that same event, but some believed there must have been another woman before Eve who either left the garden or was banished. They named her Lilith

Sinner Demons and Exorcist angels can only be killed with angelic weapons. Archangels, Hellborn like Charlie and most of the demons in "Helluva Boss" and Seraphim like Lucifer, Sera and Emily are immune however.

So, the story of this show about creation is not accurate to the modern Bible of today. However, it is semi-accurate to old Jewish folklore and Vivienne (Viv) did some studies on demonology and religious folklore regarding the concepts of Heaven and Hell, so there are tidbits of various religious beliefs throughout the show. So, define "accurate." She does her own artistic spin-off, but she uses a lot of actual lore from various religions, so it's semi-accurate depending on which aspects you're looking at.
Lilith was Adam's first wife in Jewish folklore and, as you can tell, Eve is still in the creation story in this show.
The extermination is similar to Seventh Day Adventist beliefs that sinners don't last in Hell forever, but rather pay their time for their crimes and then cease to exist.
Even the concept of redemption in the afterlife is part of Christian Universalism beliefs (they don't believe in Hell, but rather like a purgatory state where you learn about the harm you did in life, come to terms with it, and when you're ready, you go to Heaven).
Even Adam being in Heaven is a concept of the Baptist belief of "Once saved, always saved."
And the list goes on. A lot of little things Viv added that is based on true lore. It's amazing!

@@ChachiSays Well, in fact, part of it is true. It depends of the texts and traditions you refer to. Lilith is mostly present in the Jewish tradition. In some versions she's Adam's first wife, then becomes a demon and is replaced by Eve. in other versions she's Samaël's wife (a demon, first tempter (gave the apple to Eve), sometimes associated with Lucifer), in other her and Samaël are a single androgynous being... The only sure thing is that she's a demon, most of the time depicted as feminine and with wings!
Hope everything is understandable, English isn't my first language :')
