Lucas Monastirsky you impressed me. You know how the internet is. You actually had well formed opinions and you weren't talking out yr butt like a lot of you tubers. Cuz it's the internet of course I thought you were an emo or at worst a pop fan. But now I know you're not. Whoosh that's real relieving!
I like some Pantera. I like some pop. I loves me some Opeth, Blind Guardian, Children of Bodom, Eluvetie, etc. But I'll still get crunk as fuck when I hear some Garth Brooks. I don't limit myself to any particular genre. There's good music in every genre, and there's shit music in every genre. I personally find most djent to be in the latter.
***** I don't want to get into a semantic argument about genres and sub-genres, but suffice to say that I view djent as being part of the larger genre of metal. I have yet to hear any djent music that I found to be interesting, excepting perhaps some Meshuggah, but I'm just really not into them either. I'm just not into absurdly downtuned breakdowns and chugga chugga, start/stop palm-muted, noise-gated, open-string riffing and slow plodding. It's just boring to me.
The outstanding Allegaeon is just about the only band that I enjoy who uses 8 strings.
8 strings. 8 amps. Each string's sound comes out of its own amp. This is the only interpretation I will accept as valid.
And here we see a rob scallon in his natural habitat. It is a majestic creature who makes every musician wanna give up due to his unparalleled skill to play every instrument ever.
Ahhhhhhhh.....thank you sir. That was a pleasant reminder that there is still heavy in the world.

Love it. Djent and humor just go so well. My first Scallon vid was Shovel metal. Still one of my fav's, show it to all my friends. Some get it, others not so much. The wife likes Harp metal, which is good too, but c'mon, it's a shovel!! Keep it up Rob, you're djent is strong. DJENT!!

Honestly rob I think your metal talent shines brightest in songs like progressive metal town, really individual and emotional. This one felt like it some more melody, but that song stood amazingly by itself. But you keep doing what you're doing! That breakdown near the end was sick tho

As much as I listen and listen to this song, I don't get tired of it. It's so... magnificent. I eared it out on the 6-string on another tuning and higher pitch cause I don't have a 7 or 8 string and if I loosen the ones on the 6-string to this tuning the strings feel too loose and don't sound well.
It's going very well. Just missing the fast part before the heavy drop. Keep up the good work, Rob! Love it!
