After watching Dave’s videos on his reviews on AudioScape I did just that I bought 4 or 5 units right away with my first order. Over the next couple of weeks I eventually bought 12 units from them. I like what they do and also like how they achieve it. I back these guys up. Good studio gear is so costly anymore. So if I can get 90% of the sound for way less money and get quality gear well that for me is a no brainer. If I want a review of something Dave’s channel is the place to come to get good honest opinions on what he show cases. His reviews show how the unit preforms and not Dave’s thoughts. The hardware is the review not Dave. Great team guys. So I have 12 units and I’m not finished.

Another pro of using analog gear is commitment: if you have one or two 1176’s you can’t put it on everything. You have to make up your mind and have a purpose for using that specific compressor unlike plugins where you can put an 1176 on a tambourine. 😉

That's the worst part of analog to me 😂 I find that all those commitments in the studio lead me to make decisions that disagree with my ears. "but, but... I bought this 1176 for vocals! I can't use it on tambourine, that's what the Fairchild is for!!"

What 6386 tube have you got in it? Ever tried any other tubes? I'm curious cause I've heard the new stock JJ's aren't great and the NOS are expeeensive. Would love to incorporate a vari-mu into my studio some day
