The voice acting is great in general but in this sequence, Hugo and Amicia's voice actors are just amazing and you can feel how they got completely immersed and attached to the characters. This is true dedication... Hands down, the best game I've ever played.
I watched many streamers for this ending reaction, most were skipping the first credit saying " it cant be the end". I think they make this 1st credit so players who are too emotional and break down in tears can use this credit moment to sob without needing to pause the game. What a wonderful piece of game
that's pretty much what the composer said. He made a playthrough video about the OST he put in the game, why he did it, and how he did it. After Hugo dies, he wanted to give players a moment to reflect. You should see how the voice actresses reacted to this scene when they played it, it was pretty sad

One of the greatest stories I've experiences in video games. I loved all the characters, they were humans; they took tough decisions, they made mistakes, they fought until they couldn't, and went through hell. This is literally a game I'll never forget. Thank you Asobo for this masterpiece, thank you too Amicia and Hugo.
Yeah! Know what you mean. My neighbor’s 5 year old talks just like Hugo. It’s frightening really. Last week he even saved his mother from a dungeon in a fortress all by himself and everything.😂😂😂
The weird thing happens at 57:30. If you pay attention carefully, you will see that the area around Hugo has that raindrop-like illusory effect like when Amicia talked to him for a moment, which wasn't real. But it's NOT there anymore around Amicia when she's approaching Hugo after apparently being taken back to "reality" by Lucas at 55:40. It means that she probably did shoot in reality and killed him, but what was in front of her wasn't really the way Hugo looked at that moment. It's as if Macula/Hugo or both created a distorted image of what she was shooting at, for whatever reason. Everything in front was an illuion. It explains why Hugo wasn't wearing his actual clothes if zooming closely.
This was just so emotional I feel for hugo not even being bale or have a grasp at adulthood, may they rest in virtual peace, at least he had love. And family
At the end of this game, I was depressed for several days. What a game it was. We boys are very emotional. I saw a few walkthroughs of girls and none of them felt the ending. It's really painful. I hope they make a third version as well.

At the end, you could hear a respirator and the sound of heels on the tiled floor! Possibly a Nurse is approaching the child. 100% this is our time, Zalzar! Which means we are not going to see Amicia, Lucas, Sophia or anyone else from the pre-historical times! Simply because they died to aging!
You must check out [A Plage Tale Requiem Symphony]. The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, which is the choir you hear through the game, performed some of these amazing songs live. They are amazing!
No....That was a sling to the head that killed over a hundred grown men. there was no way a 6 year old would survive that. I did however hoped he could have been cured and live a happy life, but when Hugo said he needed to die, i knew that it would never become reality
The macula is supposed to be bubonic plague. The first one is Justinian (Basilius), second is Black Death (Hugo), and the third one is between 1860-1960, which I think would be the setting for the next game. It'll be interesting if they could tie it to either WW1 or WW2.
This game absolutely destroyed me. Knowing that bastard count chained up Hugo like that made me so mad. When they found Basilius something told me that was probably Hugo's fate.

I didn't kill Hugo in the end, because it was out of character for Amicia. I put myself into her position, grabbed the sling a couple of times but then let go. And then the fitting ending happened and Lucas took the burden from her and did what he thought was right. I don't think Amicia was the hero of this story, meant to end the Macula, her path was protecting Hugo and finding a way to cure him. That was not Lucas' path. His path was to help Amicia - and this includes committing the one kill Amicia could not commit. And on a meta level I did what Amicia's vision told her to do: Stop fighting and not do what she thinks is expected from her. Just because the crosshair appears on screen does not mean I as a player have to go along what the game suggests me to do. So I as a player stopped fighting too. And I think I was rewarded with the fitting ending for the game.
I don't feel like it was out of character for Amicia. Yes, she wanted to save Hugo, but part of her role was to Protect One, Protect Them All. I don't feel it was Lucas's responsibility, and to have him take on the burden and have Amicia hate him for it is much sadder than Amicia killing Hugo IMO

I couldn't skip the credits. I was too broken. Too devastated. Even now I still can't skip it. I really need this silence to let it all out..
