I had eyelid surgery with fat transfer and deep plane face and neck lift surgery 16 days ago and everything Dr. DeSilva said is 100% accurate. After the surgery, my pain was fairly minimal, however, ICE became my best friend as I sought to reduce discomfort from swelling, bruising and numbness especially in the area of my neck, which felt hot, tight and stingy for a good 10 days post op. Sixteen days post op, I am still a little bit swollen, however, any bruising I had is totally gone and my neck feels better. I am still icing my face and neck for 20 minutes a couple of times a day as needed. I made sure that I followed all of my doctor's instructions to the letter. So, here are my best tips post op: 1. Plan to take off at least two weeks from work (14 days), preferably three weeks, if you can. Trust me, you will be glad you did. 2. Plan to do nothing but REST for several days post op. It took that long, in my case, for the anesthesia to fully wear off. I was groggy, tired and constipated for a good five days post op from the anesthesia alone 🤕. 3. Plan to not drive for 7-10 days post op, especially if you have a neck lift because it will be a strain to turn your head in the early to mid stages of your recovery. My husband was my driver ❤. 4. Plan to eat soft foods that are easy to chew, swallow and digest for 7 days post op. 5. Plan to drink gallons of water; I prefer room temp lemon water. 6. Plan to sleep propped up in bed or in a recliner for several weeks post op. Your doctor will explain why. 7. Plan to have a reliable adult there with you who can drive you home after surgery and stay with you for 3-5 days after the surgery until you're back on your feet. My husband was my caregiver. He gave me my meds at regularly scheduled intervals, prepared my meals, made sure I was eating and drinking, changed the bed linens, sanitized the bathroom, helped me to the bathroom, etc. In short, he was there and he was a God-send 🥰. 8. Plan to take a break from any sort of strenuous exercise, especially weight lifting, after surgery; otherwise, you will seriously delay your healing. YOU WILL HAVE THE SPEEDIEST RECOVERY IF YOU FOLLOW YOUR DOCTOR'S ORDERS TO THE LETTER. Best wishes!!
I gave up 3 weeks before but wish I’d quit sooner. The healing behind the ears definitely took longer because I was a smoker. I think vaping is a no no too but it’s probably better than cigarettes x
You never mentioned diet! Diet is so critical for one's recovery...before, during, and after surgery!!

@@theynot4u I am almost 3 mos. post op and doing great! Thank you 🙂.
Dr. Silva is handsome. He also has a disposition that makes me feel relaxed. I wish I could go to London for a mini facelift.
david higbee : Hope you’re doing better! Best of luck!
Talk about crooked smiles after face lift surgery
How long should you quit smoking before surgery? What if you vape?
I gave up 3 weeks before but wish I’d quit sooner. The healing behind the ears definitely took longer because I was a smoker.
I think vaping is a no no too but it’s probably better than cigarettes x
thank you baby!!
He just looks too young. I would not feel comfortable with him because he just looks too
young for my comfortability.
My doctor has 30 yrs of experience doing facial surgery and my results were excellent!
