There's something about the tone of those late-'50s Gibson pickups that's magic. Nothing harsh, just nice and warm, slightly compressed, with awesome note definition. That Gibbons Tele had it, too. Just killer guitars...
That tone is purrrfect for humbucker
#WenESday #1959GibsonES335TD
1)Strange Brew/The Fresh Cream🍦
2)Mary Jane’s Last Dance/Tom Petty 🎩
3)Oh Well/Fleetwood Mac
Marty, grab the Delorean we’re going back to 1959, apparently they made Killer guitars that year 🔥 wassup Mark & Jen
I think that was THE best sounding Gibson you guys have done yet! Cream sounded awesome! This guitar will be sold right after the video gets posted.
Couldn't agree more!
That smile during last dance with Mary Jane...true guitar love
I think the dog walked in front of him - you can just about see its tail.
Yeah, I saw that smile, and the tail, but I bet the smile was on the inside all along! We only got to see it cuz the dog made Mark look up. Yep, the good stuff!
Love how Mark is enjoying himself
I can dig it.
Mr.Stranger dug
I don't object.
awesome (guitar), awesome (amp) and AWESOME PLAYING
Oh my God Mark that guitar sounds like butter. Amazing sound not bad guitarist as well. Keep On Rockin in the Free World brother. Thank you Norman's guitar
Love it. ES Wednesday is the best day.
Just lovely, thank you
Oh that one is really really my dream from all time..
Though I know this videos are to show off and sell these guitars and I know I’m a 15 year old with no money and will probably never be able to afford these guitars I still watch everyday
This is America. If you want something, earn it, and it's yours!
T C you’re not lying, this summer I painted a house to get my first tube amp. Got a fender Hot Rod Deville.
With dedication to a valuable skill comes cash, with cash comes gear!
Seth: The above comments don't do you much good. Sorry bro, its tough being young. My best advice: Buy a Fender Squire Stratocaster ('strat") or Fender Squire Telecaster ("telly") offCraigslist for $50 to $75. Get a cheap amp, here in Seattle I see them all the time for $15 to $25at goodwill. Get someone who knows guitars to check out any gear before you buy it.If you can formulate the plan in your head, you can make it happen!Mark Agnesi I'm sure would agree with what i've said. Keep watching him every day, play every day!Chuck D
There is LEMMO DEMO for us!
Sounds good...I think Mark was on fire through that
Amazing! Piece of History.
That's some very nice playing Mark.
Great playing Mark. Very funky mate.
Great guitar ...great tones - cool
Love me some original Fleetwood Mac - thanks Mark ...
Wonderfull guitar and kick ass sound, thanks Mark and Jen!!!
Oh yeah that is a very nice, those PAF's are exceptional
Sounds absolutely astounding. In my eyes you can't beat those late 50's pafs. They literally define the sound of Gibson and pioneer rock legends. 🤘🤘
Mark u are a lucky dude u get to look at and jam on guitars all day 😁
I'm excited!!
Gorgeous finish on that 335. And it sounds awesome!
Mark is on fire on that 59!! So awesome, I'll take it!! Take a check? 🤘🤓🎸
Favorite one yet... MARK IS SO INTO IT FUCCCKKK
That axe is completely gorgeous! Leave the Bigsby! Looks fantastic. Good choice, Mark!
GOTD is always fun but sometimes Mark has something spectacular. For me I'd say I have seen at least 300 episodes and nothing will ever top the Broadcaster from a few weeks back. But this is mighty close. Too bad I was born good lookin instead of rich!
Jim Bonacum
YEAH IT WAS THE BEST ONE
1. Strange brew - Cream
2. Mary Jane’s Last Dance/Tom Petty
3. Oh well - Fleetwood Mac - Peter Green
Damn that's sexy
D. Mac You beat Mike M. Haha Good jamba 🍍
hahaha I highly doubt that, he is the undisputed fountain of song knowledge
D. Mac He has SoundHOUND app like the rest of us.
Believe it or not, I've never heard of that. I like trying to guess, but I'll check it out.
That’s the sound that rock was built on
THAT is a killer guitar!!
One of the best guitars you have done on guitars on guitar of the day
now that is cool , why are those PAF's so impossible to replicate , they are so awesome , any guitar would sound fantastic with one or more of those , but then a guitar like this wouldn't be so special I suppose , I love it , gret set Mark , very well done , great show as always , the highlight of my morning.
Best guitar of the day in a while...Nice job! killer tone!
Great playin' Mark!
TREMENDOUS ROAR!😎
Man that sounds great! love those '50s guitars.
damn, the perfect electric guitar - well, somebody's happy now!
That's the tone.
Awesome! Mark should just buy it! He was so into playing that guitar. Can’t blame him though.
ES Wednesday, totally rad axe as the kids would say. Sweet tones. These guitars really can play just about any style of music. It just depends on who's driving!
That tone! Balanced ......... Superb
sweetness....que tono!
I love it!! It's awesome that you put the Bigsby back on it!
Strange Bear
Mary Bear
Oh Bear
Outstanding playing ! Great instrument. Have I mentioned Terry Kath lately?
Super sweet!
Pure magic tone.
Sounds as amazing as you would want. Mark, you did however say 1959 ES355TD at the end. 😜
awesome.....
Thatz a Sweet piece of AXE rite there Folks !!!!!!
I really like to hear Mark playing. I do really enjoy it everyday.
But sometimes, just sometimes, an Es-335 is just screaming out to be played clean.
Put your ear close to it, seriously.
It'll softly whisper: "Please, I see that Deluxe Reverb over there, pleeease let me show people what I can sound like cleanish through that."
This was one of those occasions.
(All that aside: please play some Rory Gallagher?)
Totally agree. He was playing a black guard tele the other day (might have been a no-caster) and I was really hoping for some clean tones on the one as well.
Right, don't get me wrong, for example that Tele Custom, from two days back? All Stones tunes? Hell yeah!!!
That's what that baby was asking for! But an ES-335? Come on, give us at least one clear tune!
I own a Deluxe Reverb, and unless I'm bedroom quiet, I get a sound like that (well not quite that good - '59 PAF's and all), but Deluxe Reverbs break up easy. If he plugged into a Fender Twin, then yes, LOTS of headroom, clean for days..
さすが59!
流石PAF!
聞き惚れました!!!
Great guitar!
Awesome Peter Green !!
Goddamn, beautiful
Ill be in normans tomorrow!
Wow. It's beautiful and sounds even better. I'm usually not concerned with tone - I'm sometimes watching on my phone, or on the laptop tiny speaker's. But this one stood out from the rest, sounds amazing.
Best damn guitar EVER!!!!!
Whoo! Killer!
SWEET
Neck Pickup: Strange Brew - Cream
Middle Pickup: Mary Jane's Last Dance - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
Bridge Pickup: Oh Well - Fleetwood Mac
That is one sexy guitar, I've always loved ES-335s, dude...
I was hoping this was a kind of ES-y day! Love it! However! Gotta do a Maton!

I'll bet that thing sounds great clean.
Hi Little Bear! Who's a pretty doggy!? Who's a pretty doggy!? Yes, you are!
Oh, the guitar's cool, too.
Happy WednESday everyone!
Peter Green!!! Sounds great
Awesome!!You're focusing on a 1959 Gibson ES-335T and it's 59 years ago that( IT CAME OUT!!)
Golly that tastes good!
That thing is gorgeous. Haven’t heard it yet but I just no it’s going to sound sweet 👍
I had yet to see Oh Well covered correctly until now. Guess that’s why mark is the demo guy
Lets go!
That's maybe the best sounding guitar I have heard on GOTD thus far.
Peter greens fleetwood mac oh yeah now your cookin with fire!
Tele will sell faster than you can say “1975 Telecaster Custom in Mocha brown finish” cheers Mark 🤘🏻🔥
Oh yeah its the 60s calling, they WANT the guitar back😉
I’m in 😍 ❗️
Hi LIL BEAR & EVVVVVERYONE!!! YOU'RE MAKIN THE HRSRTBREAKERS PROUD!
I meant heartbreakers!
You can sure see the Mickey Mouse ears on that guitar. (in the back room shots) I've owned & gigged with 335's a lot during the last century. I used a '68 for a few years as my main guitar. I can't say they are my favorite guitar but they are probably the most comfortable guitars in the known universe to play sitting down.
Looks right.
4 out of 6 ain't bad!
i saw pure joy during mary jane's last dance
Damn, i want that thang so bad!
I would take the bixby off. Never had much use for the wiggle stick. I already have one.
That might be the best sounding humbucker guitar I’ve ever heard. Yikes. I’m sure the price tag on that is scary. Seems worth it.
Smooth playing man smh that third song was smooth man
the 3rd song was his rendition of Fleetwood Mac's Oh Well
ring ring....Hello Larry? - yup it's Mark. Yup we got another one just like the one you used on Sleepwalk - it is sick...No, not the cover pic - the actual session.....no, more of a tobacco....This one also has a Bigsby but the stop tail is in the Case. Yup 2 PAFs. Yup brown case. Yup - around a buck and a quarter - because tuners are changed... Yes of course I can get Lemmo to sign a shirt for you.... Yup everyone gets a set - what gauge?...GREAT! Same Amex? Just need the CVV from the back.. yup your guy can pick it up any time after 6 today - was going to use it on GOTD.... OK dude, we will be looking for him. Thanks Larry... You too- tell 'Chelle we all said hello.... Byeeeeeeeeee" click.
I was born in '59. I always wanted one of each : 335, LP, Strat, Tele. That ain't gonna happen.
You've got to add a '59 Cadillac Eldorado to that list.
Neck pickup-Lawdy Mama/Strange Brew-Cream
Both pickups-Last Dance With Mary Jane-Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers
Bridge pickup-Oh Well-Fleetwood Mac
Today my igcse result comes up 😭 wish me luck !
The "TD" stands for Tuned Down
Do want!
Always fun to see how many times Mark claps his hands. Today was 6 times.
She’s a beaut
I AIN'T FRETTIN BOUT THOSE FRETS!
I'm more of a fan of the thin horns 60's version, but I'd totally get one of those if I could. Could play that thing in a suit or in a leather jacket. The all-purpose rock machine.
If it was red and had a peace sign ,would you play some TYA☺
Ok, I normally prefer Weird Ass Wednesday to an old sunburst ES, but this’ll do just fine
Joey B claimed it yet ? ... just watched his rig rundown on PG and I think he needs that one adding to the arsenal
