I never heard this version of "Hush"! really cool
This version is from the album Nobody's Perfect, it is a rerecorded live jam of the song. The other version of Hush is from the Shades of deep purple album and it had Rod Evans on lead vocals, this version has Gillian. So if you haven't already, check out the other version too....it is one of the best early Purple songs.
I love Ian, but I like the other version better, more groovy.

I just stumbled on this version and had no idea it existed.......and I am struggling with the fact I like this better because I feel stupid I didnt know it was R Evans on the version I am used to.....tyvm for doing my homework Dingo. I recorded a Interview with Deep Purple minus Ritchie of course. It was before the release of Nobody's Perfect. It was the first time I heard this version. They put it on the Live Album because they came in the Studio after being at the bar all night. They did it in one take off the Cuff. Shows Deep Purple Mark ll could record albums in a short time. There may have been one band with the talent of Mark ll but not one more talented and improv differently every night like Deep Purple. That other band was the second lineup of Rainbow.
I ❤this song. I can thank my parents for raising me with a badass soundtrack.

The absolute quintessential lineup of this band, and of the entire hard rock scene. All the other members have been great, but this lineup will never be matched.
FYI, Rod Evans sang on two albums from *Captain Beyond* in the early 70's with a couple guys from Iron Butterfly. They're worth a listen.
So sad for all youtube generation, hats of to guys who listen to audio tapes
