I wish they kept Elyon more active and antagonistic in the show, but still showing her drifting away because the girls becoming distant from her as they start bond together more as part of their duty.
in little defense of Cedric. I feel like the series made him look way older than the comic version. In the series they made him much taller, very muscular - opposed to comic Cedric who was thin. And they gave him a pretty deep voice. And by making Elyon so naiive they made her also seem even younger. In the comic as you yourself said he passes for an older student at the halloween party
to be fair in the comics i always got the impression that they were less dating and more that elyon's crush on cedric was used in manipulating her which is still gross but it at least explains why the other girls don't really react to it

I really liked this video. While I don't like a lot of the changes the cartoon made, the reasons for her going to the dark side were more believable, but I think I like comic her better because she went to investigate by herself. You said in a different video you had a link to a video about Phobos and Cedric but I didn't see it. I'd love to see a video about those guys and what you think about their dynamic and their differences in the comic and show. Fun fact, the cover of issue 126 also had them in Guardian like outfits that weren't theirs.

@@digitalbloodlines Phobos may have fought Yan Lin's group but that does not mean he fought Nerrissa back in the day or Cassidy. Yan Lin's group only had 3 members 13years ago.
@@digitalbloodlines The series does not state if Phobos was a threat before his mother overthrown and murdered. I usually go with the surviving Guardians Yan Lin's group. I mean why would Phobos be the only threat to the infinite dimensions.

Nice video. Elyon really deserve more TT The cover of the book is from of one of the original comic covers. It is number 72 (italian/original version), where the witch had a substory where they have to make a musical/they meet a good hip hop dancer (I'm not really sure). And I hate that they used a cover from the comic 72 for a arc that is narrated in the numbers 1-12. Really annoying and inconsistent. Also continue the good work! You make good videos💞💞
I enjoyed your character study a lot! It's hilarious how creepy and not-hiding-at-all Cedric and Phobos are ;) I personally saw the allusion to "grooming" in the portrayal of Cedric and Elyon relationship (since TV show made Cedric much more mature and a "proper" adult). I feel like if Elyon's controversy and determination from the comics were combined with the psychological drama of an outcast friend from the TV show, we would get the perfect villain story!

I even tried to find that other comic you mentioned that had a character more in line with OG Elyon but it's pretty expensive so I didn't go for it.
Just a small correction: when Elyon drops her locket with the girls hair, Phobos uses it so his Mud Slugs could track the scent. He employs the dopplegangers later as a ploy to frame the girls for setting fire to the village.
I agree with you because at one point, Cornelia was trying to tell Will to inform Elyon about Phobos and Cedric's scheme, but Will just brushed it off, so yes, it even made them look even worse.
I never read the comics probably never will, comics just aren't my thing, but I love the tv series, It was very disappointing to see it cancelled, just when it introduced the antagonist of the next season.

Elyon is why I hate the Cedric x Oriube ship. The story between him and Orube would have worked so much better if the guy was a minion of Phobos who wasn't so gross towards Elyon. A creep like Cedric should never have been redeemed or nearly redeemed!!!!!! 😤😠😡🤬 On a more positive note, I love Alchemy and Elyon's friendship in the show. And it felt so tragic how Cornelia's friendship with Elyon crumbled because of the secrets and lies. Cornelia was right to call Will out on her mistakes (I understand why Will tried to keep Elyon out of the whole mess, but Cornelia knew Elyon better than Will and should have been listened to). You're right about the reveal crystal being a plothole.
I wish they told Elyon, it would have made for a cool twist since they changed some stuff anyway. Alchemy was a cool addition and people speculate she was going to be a bigger role later. Cedric x Orube is an odd concept when you remember his behavior with Elyon. He was sooo creepy.

Well, let's just say Elyon's nights after taking the throne would be plagued by nightmares that made her question if she truly was fit to be queen. Heck, was she even fit to be alive and surrounded by love ? All of them caused by me. Because I wanted to see which one of the siblings had it more in them. Which one would make the darkest ruler ? How would her innocence's death mark her face and body ? And through it all, I would be rooting for her to win the competition.

For every Type 2 Functions are introverted and 2 Functions are extroverted . Im pretty sure Will is an introverted feeler
Her overall vibe definitely comes off as more infp to me since she’s pretty low key and really sensitive. In my experiences isfps tend to never really shut up lmao. Can’t really think of any specific instances where she uses Ne over Se so can’t really go beyond just her “vibe”

There was an episode with Cornelia listening to music but it was with Alchemy (Elyon's side friend), the episode was season 1 with the slug monsters, need to look up the name.

Yes definitely manipulation all around but she goes on what she calls a "date" with him in the comics just before she is corrupted.

Cedric is a changeling so no idea how old he is. He and Miranda could be a thousand years old for all we know.
I think Phobos is also many years old (at least in the show) to have fought Yan lin's group.
