I really love how in the comics each girl live up to their elements. My most favorite was Cornelia from the very first issue made it very clear that she did not believe in fairytales and that everything had a scientific explanation.
After reading arc 1 I can definitely say that yea, the show and comic are much different. I like Cornelia in the show more since she has that early 2000s popular girl personality but it doesn't get to her head. Also, the reason for them maturing when they enter Guardian form is because that's their physical prime. Same reason why Nerissa and the older Guardians become younger when they transform, since that was their physical prime.
Though I do like the overall darker tone of the comics, it's something I can appreciate much more since I'm older. If I was reading the comics when I was younger I might not have liked em as much since they were a bit gloomy
The woman-like appearance when they transform makes me think its because they are supposed to be like nature goddesses. And I was wondering the other day if the modern kids today turn away after seeing the image of Will popping out of the heart. They might be afraid to be caught reading something that appears to have nudity.
@@ahmeduansarI learned about the comics before I even knew the show existed. I saw one of the newly published witch comics in a bookstore at a train station when I was 9 and it looked interesting to me. So I asked my mom to get it for me. I found out about the show only about 4 years later. The darkness of the comics was actually one of the main reasons why they fascinated me so much from the beginning. I don‘t think they would’ve kept me interested that long as a child if they weren’t as gloomy tbh. 😂
This is tricky for me. I'm iffy about the series relationship but also the comic relationship too. Imo their relationship in the comics feels a bit more genuine, but their moments in the show were great too 😭 I can't decide
@@soarixchannel5265 you can like both :-) but I like the show better because they're a actual healthy couple unlike the books because they're always off and on and there's a lot of miscommunication and fights and tears they're always jealous of each other to a unhealthy amount it's just so frustrating!!
@@raineeholmes566 I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. Will and Matt's relationship in the comics was one of the types of a toxic relationship. Will was way to possessive of him and it eventually rubbed off on him as well to an extent.
I'm gonna say this about those many pureists on Twitter who have a disdain for the TV Series. What exactly is your problem? Is it because they made so many changes to the source material? I for one think that Caleb was handled better in the TV Series than in the Comics. Yeah! I said it, even though I thought his voice was way off from what his character is supposed to be, Metamoor's Davy Crocket and all, but, character wise, I think in the TV Series, his character was many times better, especially his origin story. In the Comics he was revealed to be an artificial life form, or, "Murmur", and was created by Prince Phoebos, who later turned against his creator. Sound familiar? Well it should because that's the plan of EVERY SINGLE ROBOT MOVIE EVER! I think the show was better off with Caleb being a biological human and being the son of Narissa. Besides, wouldn't that be a little awkward around Elyon, being that they could be biologically related, and Caleb could have a better claim to the throne than her. But, speaking of Elyon, I will concede that she was handled better in the Comics, as she was introduced earlier, which actually did make her more of a character than just a plot point, as she was introduced at the same time it was revealed that Phoebos was after his sister, and when she was kidnapped, at least in the TV Series, I got really enraged at what her character became, a complete dumbass, I'm sure this might've happened in the Comics, but this nearly made me want to stop watching the TV Series. This makes me glad that the show changed hands mid-series. Overall, I think that the show is a fair adaptation of the Comics, while some changes are ones I whole heartily disagree with, everything else, I think they kinda had to change. And I think that they should do a third season of the show for Disney+ (as much as I dislike that poor excuse for a streaming service) and bring back all of the voice actors to reprise their roles (with the notable exception of Greg Cipes, Caleb's voice actor), since they apparently loved working on the show.
I have mixed opinions on the quality of both at times, you have a lot of interesting points and I want to say stay tuned for my in depth comparison of arc one.
Maybe had the original creators successfully the secure the rights to W.I.T.C.H. years ago, then probably we might have a comic-accurate show the purists clamor for.
that explains why cornelia's and tarannee's personalities doesnt make any sense in the show, i always felt like they "switched" their personas bcs cornelia's persona as an earth guardian should be sort of similar to tarannee's and taranee as a fire guardian lacked that self confidence, the fire in the eyes and the enthusiasm
I find the dialogue in the remastered versions of the comics to be a little rough around the edges compared to the little snippets I've seen of the original dialogue in the original releases.
Also, I've only read the first volume of W.i.t.c.h so far, but why would the author(s) design the girls after fairies if they (Aside from Hay Lin) *can't even fly!?* Like, they make it look like their flying in their promotional art, but for whatever reason, despite the fact that they have wings, they can't fly. What's up with that? It doesn't make any sense to me. 😑🤣
@@shinyneko8136Late reply, but the author didn’t seem to know the reason herself. 😂😂 This is implied in the third arc, when the guardians were asked about having wings even though only hay lin can fly. No one knew the answer so the guardians plan to ask the oracle about it. However this never happened in the end. 😂 So who knows.

Will you help me know which book is first to read “the power of five” or “Halloween” ? I am very confused... they are both number 1. There are so many volumes/parts/issues. I can’t know. From hours of searching I found out that there are 136 issues. 26 parts. But I’m still lost. Will you enlighten me please?
They should be the same thing, "The Power of Five" is what I have as a chapter book that covers at least two comic issues. "Halloween" is the first comic chapter. I will probably go deeper into this soon. -ShySky
-ShySky

They really should bring the show to Disney+ either as a reboot I’m ok with that or make season 3 and probably 4

I want the comics so bad the original ones not the one the Dutch author made. I think comics have a different story too
I feel bad now because I'm moving and I had to get rid of some thing's and some of it was w.i.t.c.h I think I made a mistake
