Been in Cape Coral/ Fort Myers area since 1998. It has gotten absolutely ruined by the amount of people moving down from up north and over here from Miami. If you want to drive 10 miles across town it will take you an hour or more. I-75 is like the 101 in California. It is a perpetual construction zone housing, storage units and car washes being built on every block. It’s just build build build. Sell sell sell, you can only expand so fast. Please do your research before buying here. I love it because it’s been my home where I raised my kids but none of us plan on staying.
I live in SW Cape. It sucks here. The storms every year , Apartment's everywhere. People drive so bad , run red on a daily basis, expensive, crime, need I go on. I plan on moving hopefully soon unfortunately hurricane IAN delayed my plans. DO- NOT move here you will be sorry. First time in 18 year's I put a house alarm in, oh one other thing dont go into the water you will get flesh eating bacteria there were 65 confirmed cases just this year
Thanks for watching! If you are staying in SWFL, I would love to assist you with your move. Give me a call at 239-450-5786. About your comments, I can see how Cape Coral has changed for you over 18 years. Those coming from across the USA, Cape Coral is certainly better than some parts of the country.
The SE and SW areas are where new buyers want to live. The SE is original and more Old Florida. Cape Coral weather and location is the BEST in all Florida.
Thanks for watching! If you are on a gulf access canal you can easily boat to an assortment of restaurants and bars. There are beaches that are only accessible from boat and plenty of other beaches that you can anchor at. Driving to grocery stores would be the norm. Hope this helps! Call me at 239-450-5786
Thanks for watching! Feel free to call me at 239-450-5786 to discuss this. It’s a complicated question with a lot of variables that will play into it over the next year. In my opinion, as long as inventory stays low, pricing will stay rather steady.
Thanks for watching. Please call me at 239-450-5786. There are many options in that price range. Also know of a fantastic home in the mid-$300’s that has just been nicely renovated.
There is no water pressure and the sewage systems are ancient and clogged. Punta Gorda is an airport to nowhere. The health care sucks. The humidity is unrelenting and the traffic and stop lights are a nightmare. OTOH there are thousands of strip malls.
The Cape and SW Florida in general are a great place to vacation or winter. Permanent residency can be a financial nightmare. Years of government corruption and mismanagement from municipal to the state level have contributed to the biggest cost of living increases in the country. Property taxes, homeowners insurance, HOA crisis, crumbling infrastructure, traffic, crime, have all been self inflicted. Speaking of all of the different taxes collected, where is it going? Next crisis on the horizon is Healthcare. Quality of care has taken a nose dive in Florida and costs are rising and the legislators are in bed with the Industry so dont expect any relief. No different than the insurance fiasco. Sadly most residents just grin and bare it.

The Florida keys are mostly underwater during a hurricane or tropical storm.
Thanks for watching. It all depends on the size and path of the storm, every storm is different.
Is it easier to boat or drive to beaches, restaurants, grocery…

Not cool having traffic issues if you need to evacuate in case of a hurricane.

My Brother Baught In The Cape And Was Washed Twiced Tell The Truth On The River Is Bad!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching! I am sorry to hear about your brothers experience. There is no doubt that living in SWFL along a large river has its risks.

Having lived in multiple areas of this country, I wouldn’t necessarily agree with some of your statements. Thanks for watching.
