    I work in a multi office Opthalmologist practice and it was so funny to me when new patients called in back in Feb or even March and asked for an appt. We were booking out at that point for late may for most Drs and a couple for June to aug. Then they'd say oh I need to get in before I leave in April. This seasons been crazy. Don't get me started on the lack of workers making this even worse. And the drivers. Like if you don't need to be on the road between 7-8am and 4-6 then please don't. It sucks having to give myself and hour to get to and from work when it's only 25 min away.

    That halloween tip was huge. We were already looking in SW CC but that secured it for us. Though we aren't planning to move for at least a year maybe 2, what do you see the housing market doing in CC over the next few years as far as price?

    Sooo crowded in the Cape and numberous Recovery homes mixed in neighborhoods and don’t tell people and lots of traffic I am choosing Bradenton or Sarasota.

    Thanks for another great upload. Just curious. I noticed you can't get a direct flight from Fort Myers Airport or PGD to Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Why is this? My wife and I love traveling to the Bahamas and in order to get there you have to flight out of Miami, which means you have to take Fort Myers to Charlotte, then Charlotte all the way back down to Miami. It seems like it would have been so much easier to just go direct to Miami from Fort Myers.

    Our eco system is fragile. Learn about nutrient rich water - causes of blue green algae & red tide. You don’t need to fertilize because of the irritation water used. There is also a fertilizer ban during rainy season. Grass clippings aren’t not allowed to be dumped in the canals.

    I have one question. Are iguanas a big problem in Cape Coral? 🙂

    • @livingincapecoral
      @livingincapecoral  Год назад +1

      Not so much a ‘problem’ here but we do have plenty around. They are an in invasive species though. The biggest issue they really cause in this city is when they dig behind sea walls on waterfront homes. This creates a void behind the sea wall and the earth and can cause additional stress on the concrete which can cause damage to the sea wall itself. Best practice if you have a sea wall is to do a walk by visual inspection from time to time to make sure you don’t see any digging or holes behind the sea wall. I personally enjoy seeing them around but do realize they can be a problem. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Good Video ... But you left out how EXPENSIVE any HVAC installation/service is. Any A/C problem is 3X more expensive than anywhere else in the U.S. What usually cost $3K in the Midwest will cost you $7-9K in Cape Coral. FACT

    Here's my take on living in Florida - the hot humid weather is the good part:
    Health care is terrible. It is almost impossible to find decent health care providers. Health insurance is a joke. I would strongly suggest that you see health care providers in the north including dental care.
    Florida is a very superficial culture, especially in Orlando. It's a great place for mainstream but don't count on intellectual stimulation.
    Florida is halfway between the United States and a third world country. Services are not good, schools are poor, and customer service is almost non- existent.
    Floridians are friendly but not helpful, you are on your own. The vast influx of northerners moving into Florida probably has something to do with the total lack of community.
    Florida is very expensive (except maybe for New Yorkers). Don't move to Florida to avoid state income tax. The cost of living is very high, especially for housing.
    If you are planning on renting, landlords will push you out after your first tenancy because they can to someone else at a much higher rate. (Rent prices are increasing at 28% in Florida)
    Wish I had known these things before I moved here, I would have chosen another state.

      Sounds like Heaven on Earth! I lived there and the health care at the entry level (i.e. emergency room) was really bad. You may as well be in the jungle getting a morphine shot and told to keep running and try not to die. Now, above that, if you need a specialist, (i.e. plastic surgeon, physical therapy etc.) it is much better. As for intellectual, you do get the sense that the place is built for entertainment, not going to the chess club meetup. You seriously need to be aware, the place is built for docking boats. Don't have a boat, or orbit your life around boating? Just be aware, you are on that universe, and there is a huge world that does not concern you and is not built for your pleasure. When I was there, it was dirt cheap to live, but wages were super low to match. I knew people working 2 jobs. I have not seen that in the 30+ years since then. But again, people were doing it. You could find a single mom supporting multiple kids on waitress money. Not now. So I can't even imagine going there now, without a massive bank roll, or a new job paying 25% more than I make now. Basically, I would say the state is shaping itself more like a tourist resort than a regular "Joe lunch bucket" state, and that's the message i was always given back in the day, that the place really doesn't have time to cultivate an upwardly mobile work force. It is dog-eat-dog, and if you can't hack it, back to Rochester to operate the drill press. Thanks.

    Also if you have been married more than once, you need proof of who you are. All marriage licenses, and divorce papers. From maiden name to current married name. Men don't need this. Only women.
