Great Video. I travelled to the Netherlands from Sydney back in 2012. April had an unusually extended winter. Luckily I packed plenty of wooliies. I didn’t realise Rotterdam was so far by train. Just over 3 hours! It was so cold and drissly. I liked Utrecht. About an hour by train from Amsterdam central. It was a Sunday and had a great lunch at a cafe by the canal. There was even arm in arm dancing in a church. So I highly recommend anyone travelling to the Netherlands to check out Utrecht, The Hague and Delft.
3 hours??? From Amsterdam to Rotterdam is 1 hours by (intercity) train. The Hague (Den Haag) is on the way and only 45 minutes. From Amsterdam to Maastricht all the way to the South of the country, where they speak a different language (Limburgs) is only 2.5 hours. And to Groningen in the North is also 2.5 hours from Amsterdam with an intercity train. You must have looked at the times of a 'stoptrain' that have stops in every little city on the way. There are only a few trains that you have to reserve for or some have a small extra pay. And on nearly all routes, trains run every half an hour or even more often.
For future travellers: The Hague has 2 bigger train stations. Central Station and Holland Spoor. If you want to travel to Rotterdam from the Central Station you need to take another train in Gouda (or Utrecht) to Rotterdam, it can be done but it will take a lot longer. The trains from Holland Spoor take 19 minutes to get to Rotterdam Cental Station. :)

I think Amsterdam has had its day and just a too busy place for party and drugs. Yes Amersfoort and Breda I have heard are nice places. I am sort of a culture person to visit towns & villages in Zeeland and Noord-Brabant areas. Yes it will be good experience to go on the Dutch trains. I worked as a tourist guide for a while in The Hague. Small detail: The passage is a exact two-third scale copy from the same structure Milan, Italy. It's fun to know, because if you visit Milano , you can see it's bigger brother. (So nothing to do with ''Paris.'.. )

A little late but maybe good to know for others: settle for a place if you have one and take the train to The Haque, its almost impossible to find a place to stay even for Dutch people, the prices are insane... As for the Peace Palace, there is a visitor centre that is open everyday but to go inside the palace itself you need to book a tour. It's by far the most interesting city to be in. Don't get me wrong, I love amsterdam. But in terms of special things to see The Hague is miles ahead!

Amsterdam is a tourist city made for tourist its like a circus everything over the top . Den haag is a more normal city of the netherlands.
