Loved the video! I live in The Hague, but originally from Zeeland province. That area is famous for its long coastline, clean beaches and seafood. However, its pretty rural and harder to get to without your own car. The Hague has great beaches too, ranging from Scheveningen (very crowded, but having great bars and restaurants) to Duindorp (wide family beach that's much quieter) and both are easily reached by tram. Den Haag also has great walking and bicycle paths through the dunes linking Wassenaar, Scheveningen, Duindorp and Kijkduin beach areas.

I lived in Utrecht between 1958 and 1962 before my family emigrated to the United States. I think I was around 5 when we visited Madurodam. The beautiful tiny buildings and landscapes remain some of the clearest memories I have of my time in the Netherlands. I was absolutely fascinated by the "toy" trains, planes and boats.

The Hague is a city that ( in my opinion) deserves more then one video. For example there is a rotating art exhibition in the main hall of the stadhuis ( were city government is acutely seated) quite close to China town. Then there is the Markt (la street market in a permanent structure) four days a week, Also Scheveningen has in my opinion at least two attractions Panorama Mesdag and a Fish “ restaurant” Simonis aan de haven. ( Google them.) Just across the street from the Binnenhof is a square ( don’t remember the name) surrounded by restaurants that forms the Center of a almost completely car free shopping area. The Hague is actually THE place to eat out, for example Indonesian food. There is also a boat tour through the The Hague canals ( much more interesting then Amsterdam) or a city Center guided walking tour. Just scratching the surface here.

Since the weather was cold this spring, the sea is this still cold. Dutch and Sealandic beaches are at their best on hot days in July, August and early September (>25C). On those days these beaches are among the best in the world. There are about 10/15 good ones that you can reach by train and a short busride. For instance Katwijk and Noordwijk can be reached by bus from Leiden CS and Bergen and Egmond from Alkmaar CS. Be aware that some of these beaches and the traffic to reach them can be busy on such days.

Specific the area between Bergen, Bergen aan zee, Schoorl all the way to Groet. (I think you need a pass in some areas though, through the VVV tourist office. You can rent bikes at Alkmaar trainstation or in Bergen.) Lots of space there, even some beaches that are only accessible by bike, so not too crowded. Den Haag or the Hague is a beautifull city....it is in the west near the beach of Scheveningen...and it's got a lot of nice things to do. But the best thing in the Hague ..is the local people and their sense of humor..wich is distinctly different from Rotterdam or Amsterdam. To describe their humor is; they can make fun of you, wich is a good thing, but they can also make fun about themselves at the same time. It is refreshing and direct, without being rude!! Go visit this third largest city!!! (ps..you can find posh people and not so posh people sitting side by side, the mix is funny in it self!!😁)

The Binnenhof doesn't house local or municipal politics. The provincial (regional) government is housed in the Provinciehuis, near the central station and Malieveld. The municipal council, as well as most municipal services for the city of The Hague are housed in the Gemeentehuis, on the Spuiplein.
The Binnenhof normally houses the Eerste and Tweede Kamer (first and second chamber, otherwise known as the Senate and the Parliament), as well as providing offices for the government, and the office of the prime minister (in a little tower in one of the corners of the Binnenhof, "het Torentje"). All part of the national government.
Currently though, the Binnenhof is being refurbished and renovated, so parliament, senate and most of the government have moved to a temporary location on the other side of central station, a building known as the "Apenrots" (the monkey rock).

The courtyard (binnenhof) houses national politics. Local politics has its own town hall. You mention somewhere that the king has 3 palaces where he (can) live. Amsterdam is mentioned here. This is not officially a residential palace. It was built as a town hall. Napolion's brother wanted a palace in Amsterdam. Confessed the town hall and renovated it. The municipality of Amsterdam sold the building for a symbolic amount of 1 guilder to the state, which takes care of maintenance. It is now only used on foreign state visits. The palaces now. Huis ten Bosch (residential palace) Palace in Apeldoorn with a large piece of forest. Often used for hunting. And Palace korte voorhout the work palace

Do you know the history of Madurodam? Madurodam was named after George Maduro, a Dutch law student from Curaçao who fought the Nazi occupation forces, first as a lieutenant in the army and later as a member of the Dutch resistance, and who died at Dachau concentration camp in 1945. In 1946, Maduro was posthumously awarded the Medal of Knight Fourth class of the Military Order of William, the highest and oldest military decoration in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, for the valor he had demonstrated in the Battle of the Netherlands against German troops.

I'm from The Hague and love my town. Don't forget Utrecht. Also a very nice place.
I recognize the Dim sum place you enjoyed. Very good dim sum restaurant for sure.
Luciano's is the best Italian icecream there is. The owner is my former classmate and won global prices with his icecream.
    Try Indonesian food.

I really like the beaches in Zeeland. I was born there, so I might be slightly biased. But just do a long weekend Walcheren (by train), visit Middelburg, Vlissingen, Dishoek, Zoutelande. All these places are reachable by bicycle. Great vibe, oh and try the fries at a place called Het Smulhoekje in Middelburg :)

if you like good icecream, you need to go to palazzo, at Scheveningen. They have homemade icecream with pepperminth flavour! Its the best icecream you can get at Scheveningen and The Hague!
And an other tip: If you like animals, you must go to Avonturia De Vogelkelder. Its also in Den Haag and its realy awesome!
Its actuly a large petstore, but it looks a bit like a small zoo... Its so awesome!

I think that Scheveningen beach is a bit too busy in the summer. Zuiderstrand and wassenaarse slag are better if you are in Den Haag. The dunes and nature of Meijendel are also very nice if you want to get out of the city.

The Chinatown( China block rather ,it's a just a few streets) was a very clever way to deal with that part of the city. It's in the centre, but used to be very dodgy part of town .Bit of an eyesore. A lot of drugs dealing, homeless people shelters ... A bit depressing really. But it had many private owned houses and some nice sites and protected historical building to just bulldoze it down . .So they turned it into 'China town'. It's still a bit dodgy, but has a far more positive vibe to it. Good food and a lot of Asian entrepreneurs.

Best beaches in the Netherlands are in the province of Zeeland… and the most beautiful are at the former island of Walcheren: Dishoek, Zoutelande Domburg, Oostkapelle, Vrouwenpolder. Easy to go by train from Dordrecht to Middelburg and get a rental bike and ride to those places… you’ll be amazed.
