There's a meme that when a new game comes out, the ones before are instantly masterpieces. Honestly to me that just proves that dice games are just getting worse and worse.
This isn’t a “BFV is amazing!” situation, if you objectively compare BF4 to 2042 all 2042 gets is marginally better gameplay, higher resolution and a (barely functioning) FOV slider on consoles, more weapon customization, and bots. That’s it.

BF2042 has bad performance, huge input lag, broken mouse input, laggy movement, forced TAA, weird frame synthesis, smudging, blurring, etc. and no significant gunplay. BF4 has movement conservation, smooth movement, mouse input works fine, performance is wonderful, it's visually sharp and has almost no input lag, gunplay is skillful and satisfying. Some servers have bad hit registration but that's about it.
I used to be an absolute heli sweat with my bois. Bf4 was just a spectacle when you had dogfights and heli fights happening in the air all while absolute chaos unfolded on the ground. Id say i miss the days but all my friends and I have abandoned 2042 and are back maining bf4 again.
One of the things I missed from 4 that’s not in 2042 is the little pov camera you have before you select to spawn on somebody. The amount of times I spawned on someone in 2042 thinking it was safe to get blasted by a tank 2 seconds later
As someone who joined a dogfighting community with the intent to learn how to dogfight in bf games and fight against other like-minded players, I can tell you firsthand that 2042 was so bad that many of those players simply ignored it. Older games are played far more than 2042 because the vehicles and overall depth is laughable.
The jump from ps3/360 battlefield 4 to xbox one/ps4 battlefield 4 still is so amazing to me. More players, bigger maps, more flags, more vehicles, more tickets and a 60fps target
The game has more depth, better vehicles, better progression/incentive to play, more weapons and gadgets that make since, (and the BIGGEST thing...) IMPECABLE MAP DESIGN!
i love the recoil in bf4, they way you have to burst fire for max accuracy while keeping your firerate up is satisfying, compared to the hold m1 for an entire mag at 200m+ also building weapons was a huge thing, people pulling up vRec and hRec stats to draw up the best attachments, in 2042 its really just throwing on max accuracy and calling it a day bf4's movement is some of my favorite of any game but i can definitely see how people dislike it, its kind of weird
Helicopters felt weighted back in bf4 , it was a fun challenge getting around the battlefield. Same goes for tanks. Now you have an arcade feel that was designed for 10 yrs olds, I really hate it. Especially with the amount of rocket launchers floating around with specialists and no need for repair tools. Just a different direction then what I wanted. EA for being money hungry and new staff at Dice.

I don’t care what the EA PR team says there is no way there isn’t a skeleton crew working on BF2042. The extreme lack of content is all the proof you need and they aren’t even mentioning it in their earnings call.
The skill level was very higher than 2042. That gives a good satisfaction level always. BF4 was Authentic unlike BF2042 and had lots of content than any FPS ever created.
I completely agree with what you said in the last part of the video, the skill gap required to be decent has diminished significantly in 2042 we can only hope the next battlefield game is better because 2042 is pretty unfixable
The way the Little Bird is designed: 30 mm cannons or Zuni Rockets. The 30's are unlimited ammo and can be effective against infantry, but weak against vehicles. Made for inexperienced pilots. But with Zunis, you only get about 30 rockets and they are effective against both vehicles and infantry. Made for experienced pilots. Both are great options, but the rockets are better overall, but harder to use.
I hope bf 2025 is a mix of bf4 and 3. Bf 2042 feels like overwatch not like bf they tried to copy ideas from other companies but failed. In the new bf they could instead bring all maps from bf3 and bf4 in the seasons if it is a life service game or maybe just bring back premium with a roadmap with dlc and then release new maps with og remastered maps. Imagine playing ziba tower in 2025 with levolution. But lets see if we get a mull spiel
Seems like the devs said, "cod or apex doesn't have it so we don't need it either" no server browser, no squad change, no locked weapons classes, they went ultra casual for 2042, and it bit them in the ass... bf is complex no casual and basic like cod, and they dropped the ball
Question for the people who bought 2042 day 1. How did it feel paying full price for a broken POS game, backed by a BILLION dollar company, KNOWING that work on the sequel started before you even FINISHED installing?
Answer: I didn't pay full price, literally everywhere other than Steam and Origin had the game on sale pre-launch. It's not really a POS. Is it the worst Battlefield game? Yes. Is it still a good game? Almost. Is it worth buying? No. Every "AAA" title has work started on the "sequel" already. Not everyone in a dev team works on every part of a game. Look at Call of Duty, there are 2-3 other Call of Duty games already being made when a new one comes out. How do I feel about it? Meh. I only bought it to play with some friends, and it's much better to me than having to play 7 Days to Die or whatever other survival game of the day they all seem to like. At the end of the day, I personally prefer to play a bad multiplayer game with friends, than a good multiplayer game by myself.
Call me a granny but I still prefer BF4 over that shit at all times. There's nothing they can do to BF2042 to make it a better game, it's like that and will always be.
I still remember checking my kills during the 2042 beta after being shot down and seeing I had gotten 20 kills in the Little Bird. I had outdone 5 years of BF4 piloting, while tired from waking up so early at 5am, within 3 hours of the beta coming out. That’s when I truly knew 2042 wouldn’t be it.

Games need to be made easier to appeal to wider audiences. You can't allow newbies to get completely steamrolled - they might just quit and then developers lose customers. I recall during BF5 there were some leaks how dice was experimenting removing jumping and prone during development. I don't know if this is true or not but I think it's not so far fetch possibility.
I noticed the switch up in vehicle gameplay with BF1. The aircraft in that game play like their on rails instead of moving independently like BF3/ BF4. Play more BF4, its a superior game.
One of the things that really annoy me in BF4 is the movement exploits. Like jumping constantly or crouching constantly messes up the hit boxes to the point you can’t land a hit even though they are point blank range.
Ran into my first obvious cheater yesterday. Dude never missed a headshot with the crossbow, ended up going over 100 kills with 7 deaths. If this game starts getting overrun with cheaters (like bf5 is currently) it's truly over.
Take it you didn't play Bf3 (PC), maps are much better than Bf4's in general... many including myself consider Bf4 maps to be its weak point, good variety, but not many are actually good.
BF4's Playstation helicopter controls were awesome to me. Had so much fun flying the Viper. After no helicopters in subsequent releases I was real excited about jumping back in an attack helicopter in 2042. Then I played the Beta and was so disappointed. BF4 = Humming Bird. 2042 = Sea Gull. Also really loved Tanks in BF4 which also had a high skill ceiling. 2042 didn't impress me there either. The Specialist were the last straw for me. So, I canceled my pre-order the last day of the Beta. You couldn't pay me to play it.
Bf4 will always be my favorite. Never forget playing it at launch on ps3 😂I thought it was broken then but they still delivered content snd brought the game around to be good. There’s very little hope left in my heart for dice and bf
I had it on the 360 and when I got my Xbox one I bought it again. The Jump from 16v16 to 32v32 was amazing. Bigger play spaces, more flags , more vehicles on the map, 60fps target it was beautiful
Bf4 community is unbeatable. Im apart of the heli community and jets and theres still such great players that play regularly. I didnt buy 2042 and im goad i didnt. The skill level in bf4 from good players to average players is enormous and it shows.
Bf4 best movement they needed to expand on it. But from bf1-2042 they have made it shit with no air control. That jump swipe dodge u did. You cannot do that in those games which makes the game clunky and easier for noobs to kill you. They need to expand on that movement not destroy it.
I'm not a good player. I'll freely admit it up front. But I love Battlefield. BF3 was my first BF game. BF4 was the one that turned me into a fanatic. I know nothing about the different mechanics of all the BF games. All I know is which BF game is the most rewarding to play. That was BF4. I played BF4 for almost 4 years and still felt like there were things to learn. I never got bored because there were things I could get better at. I played 2042 for 2 months and I was done. Bored out of my mind. Something is seriously wrong with 2042 at it's core. it's a bad video game with no replay value at all.
Couple of weeks ago, I had a... particular choice of words (yeah, let's call it that) towards a guy spamming UCAV from spawn throughout the entire match. Now, I died maybe two times to him during this entire map, but I distinctively remember how desperate he was trying to portray himself in a chat, when people ragged on him (I forgot to add - I wasn't alone, it was a goddamn chorus), as some sort of big brain tactician helping his team by "securing the area" or some other shit. Needless to say, it didn't help (it couldn't have, as the place he was nuking was completely irrelevant to the tactical situation at large). He and his team got lol'ed hard, but it goes to show just how badly people are attached to their cheesy toys. They have to come up with all sorts of reasoning just so they can keep them and the gratification that comes along. You can bet that if this was some kind of tool that actually did help the team, but didn't come packed with a "blow shit up" addon, then they wouldn't touch it

You are so right saying that BF4 doesn't play like it used to and many bad players have perfected their scumbag playstyles. Rush sometimes is borderline unplayable because of the amount of people who only UCAV and mortar all game. Checking these players' stats, you will find that they have tens of thousands of kills with those respective gadgets and nothing else. The prevalence of these players is insane too, as each team in a full rush server will have three or more of these players, usually in one squad with "UCAV" in their clan tag and making the entire server hate that they are breathing irl. Insane that this is what players do on an almost ten year old game. Well, I guess those gadgets shouldn't have ever been in the game anyways, as it is a low-skill way to go on large killstreaks with no chance for the enemy to do anything about it. Despite this, BF4 still rules.
I just want to know, with all of you technologically savy peeps, how tf does it feel like my character’s moves in 2042 are somewhat behind what I am actually perceiving on screen? I’ll explain, some times I’ll be moving on a corner or a “crossroads” moving from cover to cover but somehow even if I’m running I manage to get killed by someone on the other end, even after my body is past the open area and now behind cover? It’s almost as if the bullets could make 90 degree turns or if my character attracts the rounds to him. I mean, if you were to draw a line between the player’s barrel and my body, it shouldn’t be possible because one, I shouldn’t be visible and two, there would be walls/boxes/veh/etc. between me and him. This shits really pisses me off because it happens very often! So the only theory i’ve come up is the movement is laggy and delayed, and even if I see myself reaching the point where cover should conceal me, in reality my character is still lagging behind in the open area and that’s how I manage to get killed. Anyone experience this kind of ass fuckery?
BF2042 was made for players who like to dress their soldiers like if they where playing with dolls. BF4 was made for players who like to play military FPS made with passion and the love of the game.
Is the pc version different from the console one because I did know you could slide like that? And dam it looks much better on pc Also when I’m sniping and my crosshairs are on someone and I shoot while getting shot at, or sometimes not getting shot at, does that make me miss? Or am I just lagging
Battlefield 4 is great but for me it also has some flawed, It's like DEV promoting to much low risk high reward easy kill style such as UCAV, XM25 AIRBURST, Mortar, USAS-Frag and also some weapon pickup in map that can 1 shot u or let u use it in safe place.
Something I miss is the animations from older titles. It made running with guns and gear feel heavy like it actually requires effort.

I miss being an attack heli pilot it bf4. It was always fun to let my friends try and watch them fail miserably.

Battlefield 4 held up really well in OCE with 3-6 servers still filling up nightly.

2042 is the Fisher Price experience in almost all aspects.
I don't blame players for using UCAVs the way they do even after all these years, I blame DICE for implementing gadgets the way they did in BF4.

I had it on the 360 and when I got my Xbox one I bought it again. The Jump from 16v16 to 32v32 was amazing. Bigger play spaces, more flags , more vehicles on the map, 60fps target it was beautiful

Bf4 community is unbeatable. Im apart of the heli community and jets and theres still such great players that play regularly. I didnt buy 2042 and im goad i didnt. The skill level in bf4 from good players to average players is enormous and it shows.

Bf4 best movement they needed to expand on it. But from bf1-2042 they have made it shit with no air control. That jump swipe dodge u did. You cannot do that in those games which makes the game clunky and easier for noobs to kill you. They need to expand on that movement not destroy it.
I'm not a good player. I'll freely admit it up front. But I love Battlefield. BF3 was my first BF game. BF4 was the one that turned me into a fanatic. I know nothing about the different mechanics of all the BF games. All I know is which BF game is the most rewarding to play. That was BF4. I played BF4 for almost 4 years and still felt like there were things to learn. I never got bored because there were things I could get better at. I played 2042 for 2 months and I was done. Bored out of my mind. Something is seriously wrong with 2042 at it's core. it's a bad video game with no replay value at all.
Kind of embarrassing that this game still plays better than 2042.

Couple of weeks ago, I had a... particular choice of words (yeah, let's call it that) towards a guy spamming UCAV from spawn throughout the entire match.
Now, I died maybe two times to him during this entire map, but I distinctively remember how desperate he was trying to portray himself in a chat, when people ragged on him (I forgot to add - I wasn't alone, it was a goddamn chorus), as some sort of big brain tactician helping his team by "securing the area" or some other shit.
Needless to say, it didn't help (it couldn't have, as the place he was nuking was completely irrelevant to the tactical situation at large). He and his team got lol'ed hard, but it goes to show just how badly people are attached to their cheesy toys. They have to come up with all sorts of reasoning just so they can keep them and the gratification that comes along.
You can bet that if this was some kind of tool that actually did help the team, but didn't come packed with a "blow shit up" addon, then they wouldn't touch it

You are so right saying that BF4 doesn't play like it used to and many bad players have perfected their scumbag playstyles. Rush sometimes is borderline unplayable because of the amount of people who only UCAV and mortar all game. Checking these players' stats, you will find that they have tens of thousands of kills with those respective gadgets and nothing else. The prevalence of these players is insane too, as each team in a full rush server will have three or more of these players, usually in one squad with "UCAV" in their clan tag and making the entire server hate that they are breathing irl. Insane that this is what players do on an almost ten year old game. Well, I guess those gadgets shouldn't have ever been in the game anyways, as it is a low-skill way to go on large killstreaks with no chance for the enemy to do anything about it. Despite this, BF4 still rules.
I just want to know, with all of you technologically savy peeps, how tf does it feel like my character’s moves in 2042 are somewhat behind what I am actually perceiving on screen? I’ll explain, some times I’ll be moving on a corner or a “crossroads” moving from cover to cover but somehow even if I’m running I manage to get killed by someone on the other end, even after my body is past the open area and now behind cover? It’s almost as if the bullets could make 90 degree turns or if my character attracts the rounds to him. I mean, if you were to draw a line between the player’s barrel and my body, it shouldn’t be possible because one, I shouldn’t be visible and two, there would be walls/boxes/veh/etc. between me and him. This shits really pisses me off because it happens very often!
So the only theory i’ve come up is the movement is laggy and delayed, and even if I see myself reaching the point where cover should conceal me, in reality my character is still lagging behind in the open area and that’s how I manage to get killed. Anyone experience this kind of ass fuckery?

BF2042 was made for players who like to dress their soldiers like if they where playing with dolls.

Also when I’m sniping and my crosshairs are on someone and I shoot while getting shot at, or sometimes not getting shot at, does that make me miss? Or am I just lagging
bf4 be like: infantry=fun tanks=fun bird=fun jets=fun heli=fun boat=fun lav=fun AA=fun and thats the reason bf4 is the best bf game.
Battlefield 4 is great but for me it also has some flawed, It's like DEV promoting to much low risk high reward easy kill style such as UCAV, XM25 AIRBURST, Mortar, USAS-Frag and also some weapon pickup in map that can 1 shot u or let u use it in safe place.
BF4 I really enjoyed, first game I actually played thru untill the end of its dlc.
