Brief Introduction to Waldor Orchids:
Waldor Orchids’ founder George Allen Off entered the flower business when he established Brighton Florist in 1925. His love of flowers and his desire to grow them would lead him out of his father’s hotel business and into the fascinating world of growing plants.
Waldor Orchids continues to be a family operated business. Bill Off manages greenhouse operations while Debbie Walt’s wife handles the business administration. Walt’s children, Beth, Robin and Dave, and his son-in-law Bill are now working in the greenhouses as the third generation orchid growers. Along with a few close friends, they continue to provide the same quality and old-fashioned service that made George Off so successful.

Thank you for the tour of Waldor. Though my first orchids came from Waldor, via NYBG during their annual orchid show more than 15 years ago, this is my first time seeing their greenhouses. The Laelias, Cattleyas and Cymbidiums were outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Are Waldor holding any summer blooming phals?
Thank you so much! Yes, I’m hoping to stop by the nursery in a few weeks to see what other orchids are in bloom! I purchased a few summer blooming Phals and all fragrant too! Here are a few Phals to look for:
Phal. Vio Vio Catface (Peloric)
Phal Younghome ‘Lucky Stars’
Phal. Sogo Lawrence
Phal. Equestris
Waldor has many mini phals to choose from. Give them a ring and see if they have these. I purchased my Equestris and Sogo Lawrence from Waldor.

Bryan; Consider adding the Paph. Maudiae types (both Green/White - my Favorite + Vin color). they're less expensive.

I live in CT so maybe I'll check out the Waldor's one day. It looks like it's close to Atlantic City. I found out from their website that shipping to CT would only be one day.
I bought my first two paph hybrids in early November and they are still in double spike.
That's awesome! Yes, 5 mins from Atlantic City! J&L is a fantastic nursery in CT too! If you haven't visited, it's definitely worth the stop.
Bought 12 Cattleyas to add to my collection today (and for my Mom's birthday 😅).

- C. Louis Chaton (percivaliana `Summit' x trianaei `Cashen's' FCC/AOS) (1898 Remake)

@@OrchidsByBryan Got them today. The purpurata is a very young plant with very light green leaves but it has a brand new root so I might repot it.
The Louis Chalon (1898) looks to be mature size and it has a new growth that is about half mature so far. I have hope that everything I bought will do well.

What a gorgeous place. So much I'd like to buy! Looks like their website doesn't list most of what they have, so perhaps they have most things already committed to sale through other channels.
I would also try Ebay! They post plants for auction on eBay that are absolutely amazing! They do have a lot more orchids for sale in the greenhouse compared to online though. Definitely the perfect excuse for a roadtrip to Waldor! ;)
