    Hi Nelson, thank you for your important messagge, I really needed. I live in the north part of Italy in Calcinato (BS) at about 20 km from a NATO base with 40 nuclear bombs. Sometimes, when I look my daughters walking towards school I start cry and I say to myself :" maybe this time I'll not be able to protect you girls, because this world situation is out of my control". It breaks my heart, and I feel hopeless. Your words reached right my heart, and I already told you that people like you make me hope in a better world. Thank you for this candle you lighted up in the tunnel. I wish you all the best Nelson!

      It’s comments like this that lift me up higher and encourage me to continue my channel. Sometimes a message can touch people in such a way like it did to you. My heart breaks at your story, but we have a brighter future ahead. When evil is dying, it gives its last fight. We are witnessing that fight take place all over the world. But not very long we will be telling a different story. There are casualties in many cases, and that is very unfortunate. But not all is gone. Great times are just ahead. Keep your mind in a positive light. See the future you want to see yourself in, not the one the media makes up for you. My prayers are with you and your daughters. 🙏🏼

    Beautiful flowers as always. Nelson, you are an empath. Your advice is what everyone needs to hear. Thank you for sharing, never spilt. We finally are getting a slight break in the weather. Amen . I am not asking for it to get real cold just cooler with less humidity. Take good care.

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  10 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely. Most don’t know what an empath is. I didn’t want to go down that road on my channel. But I’m extremely sensitive and that’s why I live very distant from the crowds of the city. It’s difficult for me sometimes to handle all the energies in our current times. So I stay away from the gossip and chaos. I hope the weather cooling brings some relief. It’s been unbearable in my area. You can here me in the videos sometimes releasing heavy breath due to the humidity and heat. Nights are now feeling allot nicer. It’s down to the 70’s now.

    On a floral note- I’m drooling over the cattleya from Kelly! Those colors are fire! Also it’s interesting that I have a vanda that looks like yours. It’s actually my favorite from Banjong but my tag says V. Bantram. They are similar and just gorgeous!! Again I thank you for sharing your blooms and I’m glad you’ll continue oozing good vibes and nature’s beauty via your videos. I definitely look forward to them. ❤

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  10 месяцев назад

      Good vibrations baby! That’s what it’s all about. Let’s not give evil the upper hand by going down the dark path. Stay positive and create the world you want to live in through your own manifestation of pure intentions. The Bantram is almost identical. I believe I have that one somewhere in my collection. The Kelly gift is outrageously colorful. The tones in it are unreal. I feel my adding seaweed and epson to my feedings has really stepped up my orchids. They are looking very bright and colorful. And all the yellow from the heat is slowly turning back to green. 🤗

    I’ve been watching your video in parts because I didn’t want it to end.
    I’m wondering if the leaves you featured are being affected by the amount of seaweed you are giving… just a thought.
    Thanks for that inspirational ending. I’ve had to tune out a lot of the news to maintain my sanity, while just listening enough to be informed.
    We are living in sad times. We have enough space to coexist but there seems to be so much hate. I repeat the cliche…. All the world needs is love! ❤

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  10 месяцев назад +1

      We are lacking love everywhere. The news is a toxic platform designed to keep your mind preoccupied daily. That’s why the news talks very little of anything positive. It’s all based on tragedy, gossip,and lies. I do get information online from credible sources. I never tune in to tv news. We are undergoing a massive shift in humanity. There is an end to the chaos. But during that chaos we need to stay clear minded and not engage in the hate game. Our positivity and intentions will eventually drain out the chaos. I will use my platform to bring some sort of emotional comfort through my orchids. But sometimes curtain things do need to be addressed. The current events are definitely one to address. We will come out of this shining. It just takes some time to weed out all that no longer serves us. As my friend would always say…”evil is in trouble”. As far as the seaweed goes, I literally started adding it to my Phals. I don’t think it’s that. It’s always happened to my Phals. I just can’t pinpoint what causes it.

      Thank you! I actually water my Tacca every single day. The more water, the better. Keep it in a pot where the roots are tight in there. If the pot is too big, that may be the problem. Also try changing the medium. It prefers a potting media that contains 50% pine bark, 40% peat moss, and 10% sand, or similar combinations.

    I missed you so much Nelson! Thank you for taking us through your amazing ranch to showcase your what's in bloom your orchid blooms are always amazing! P.s I use the yellow sticky fly paper to trap those pesky thrips and it works wonders because just like you I have my cat babies and hate to use strong Chemicals on my plants. I just hang half a sheet close to the spike and instead of going on my buds they go there!
    You have to be careful with lizards though as they get themselves stuck quite often.

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  9 месяцев назад +1

      Im anti yellow sticky paper. When I went to Maria’s home, I saw the papers filled with beneficial bugs and literally most of them had live lizards stuck dying a very slow death. That broke my heart. I don’t know what’s worse chemicals that kill instantly, or sticky’s that keep them stuck dying very slowly.I was trying to come up with a cage-like sleeve for the sticky. This way the lizards may walk over the grid, but not get stuck.

    Nelson, I have a question for you: for the last year or so, I have been mounting more and more of my orchids. I feed them, religiously, every week, following your feeding regimen. The root systems are spectacular but I do not see any growths on the plants🤔. I know it’s probably very difficult, if not impossible, for you to diagnose the reasons without seeing the plants since there could be many different factors. I was wondering if, maybe, the feeding was working too well on the roots and it was not providing enough energy for the plants to shoot new growths? It sounds kind of ridiculous specially after watching how wonderfully your plants grow. By the way, I live in Sarasota. Our summer has been very hot too but, VERY dry😱. You are right, we definitely need beautiful and uplifting channels like yours specially during these dark times😍

    • @naturenel

      Hello my friend. Honestly orchids are very sensitive, and sometimes I find them to even be emotional. I have orchids in my collection that have not bloomed in years. They do sometimes go through dormant cycles in order to give the plant room to grow in other areas like roots and size. They tend to not bloom if the plant is going through a big growth spur. If the orchid plant looks healthy and growing, no need to worry. My advice to you is, if your space allows for more orchids, get some more for that all year round of blooms. I always have blooms to show because I have over 600 orchids. So obviously there is always something in bloom. Mercedes was one who said…” if you want to always see blooms, invest in all varieties of orchid families”. I agree with her statement 100%. Orchids are not like regular flowering plants. They are in the rare, exotic category which by definition means the flowers are not as aggressively blooming as a regular flowering plant like daisies or roses. They bloom every year on their cycle. Banjong Vandas are heavy bloomers. Maybe get some from Ben that are year round bloomers like the Ben Fragrance or the extremely hard to find Vandocostylis Laem Sing. Those 2 Vandas bloom every other month for me. And yes, let’s keep the positive mindset going. It’s what will save us all from the outside noise. We will come out of this mess very soon. Keep the faith. 🙏🏼🤗💚

    argh nelson you still have thrips too? This is getting ridiculous. I'm just about getting on top of them here finally but you are my best grower on youtube if you can't get rid of them then who can?!? I think Maria might have figured it out... But yeah watching youtube, all the channels I watch have thrips. Most don't even realize which already takes years to realize but yeah Nelson if all the other amateurs I follow can't fix it, I'm hoping at least you can. I just cannot accept that every grower eventually gets bogged down by thrips which in my experience reduce flowering by 70%! People build up massive collections of 800 orchids, open a youtube channel, and 70% of them end up never blooming. That can't be good enough. Why do I care so much you ask? Well the problems I have with thrips already give me nightmares. At least you are aware of them but I swear 90% of the other youtube channels have thrips and have no idea. I could name at least 12 youtube channels that have thrips on practically every plant in their collection. It literally makes me gag seeing their plants. So I wish I could come to youtube and see healthy plants. For me that is what I come for. The blooms are a nice consequence. But you can get unhealthy orchids produce flowers too. Those still make me gag knowing the orchid will most likely give up within 5 years time and will have to be replaced. I wish following other growers would not be blighted by seeing all their problems. That is one of the reasons you are my number 1 channel so don't let me down Nelson.

    • @naturenel
      @naturenel  10 месяцев назад

      Wow. There is quite allot to unpack here. But I will say this, thrips travel in the wind, rain, smoke, and other forms of reaching the buds. Controlling thrips in an outdoor environment is never ending and near to impossible. I have thrip issues like everyone that lives in a tropical climate. You will never stop the battle of controlling them. It’s seasonal and it’s a natural happening. The best we can do is go out to our collection and go to every single spike on a daily and check for thrips. If I were retired and this was my only responsibility, I could guarantee you that thrips would be a minimal in my collection. I take care of it as much as possible on my free time at home. I would say this year has been extremely bad with all pests. Considering the aggressive amount of thrips, I actually have been able to bloom all my spikes, losing some flowers in the process, but still the presence of thrips lingers. Once the heat goes away, thrips are not really a problem. In order to have the buds all clear of thrips, you would have to spray every single spike that’s budding, continuously throughout the season. It’s just not a realistic practice for many people’s schedule. We do the best with the time and budget we have. As you said many RUclipsrs are suffering from thrips, that goes to show you it’s not an easy fix. I can feel your frustration and I relate to it 100%. Don’t loose faith. Thrips will always be here and we just have to learn to keep them in check. Now with all that said, I am looking into using Swarski mites in the future in my property. They are hungry little buggers that devour thrips. The best part is once they eat all the trips, they live off of pollen. So you can actually house the mites in your collection with now side effect damages to your orchids. Thank you for holding me high up in the orchid keeping world. I truly appreciate you. 🫶🏼
