Using Lizardmen and Anvilguard is one of those 'wish you thought of it ideas'. Guaranteed this series leads to new armies being made, which is what the hobby is all about.
Nice to see you mention the Saurus Warriors as a source of bits. As a Salamanders player who also collects Lizardmen, I can definitely attest to the number of extra scaled shields you'll have laying around being a fantastic boon for acquiring something to represent Dragonscale Storm Shields, especially on non-Firedrake models. One thing worth bearing in mind with them however that those shields will always be left-handed compared to the right-handed firedrakes' shields. I will also point out that another use for Pyroclast bodies is as the base for a unit of veterans or a command squad. You'll definitely need to come up with a way to differentiate the leader from the rest of the unit (i.e. make one into a legion standard bearer for a command squad), but the end result is pretty great, especially with melee weapons.
@@Jayroi Not at all. However, with Terminators you're obligated to ditch the combi-bolter if you take the shields, and said combi-bolters are almost always wielded right-handed. Saurus shields on the other hand are left-handed. With that said, if you're still intent on taking stormshields on your Terminators and don't want to recast, 3d-print, or otherwise source the Firedrake shields, you may want to consider getting Stormcast shields and sculpting a scale pattern on them with Green Stuff. Plus, Stormcast kits (especially Liberators and Sequitors) have a lot of other parts that you can cannibalize (mauls, swords, and hammers especially).
@@liammorgan1413 thank you. It’s been such a pain in the ass looking to kitbash firedrake. Gonna def get liberators. Also while on the subject, any thoughts on flamers for pyroclast kitbash?
@@Jayroi with regards to flame projectors, I don't have much to offer for suggestions. You might be able to get away with using heavy flamers in their stead, but you'll need to be able to differentiate between them if you intend on fielding both. As such, you may want to consider sourcing terminator-equipped heavy flamers for the "gauntlet" grip, and I'd definitely recommend those that came in the Tartaros kits for the different muzzles if your normal flamers and heavy flamers are the Phaistos-Pattern ones currently stocked in the plastic kits and FW blisters respectively.
Could you point me in the right direction where I can find the stl files for he pyroclasts? I'm starting a Salamanders 30k army from the Age of Darkness box set, but I can't afford to buy several kitbash boxes. Thank you for the video btw
@@TheOuterCircle thank you. I bought a 3d printer last year, but I never got it to run probably. For some reason some resin always builds up and sticks to the fep forcing me te replace it, which to this day I put off doing. Maybe I'll get it done this week. Thanks again
Another good place for character bits (and they might come up in a future Salamanders video) is Spellcrow. Been thinking of doing Salamanders for a while now, and someone mentioned them to me. Never thought of the old Dark Elves and Lizardmen. But now I can see what you mean.
A got some of those suggestions!! That’s awesome thx!! I think some key characters was forgotten tho. Wouldn’t Adrax Agatone make a great praetor? (Perhaps changing his backpack first but otherwise looks good for the job) And Vulcan He’stan he makes a great champion!!
Hey I was wondering if I could get some advice. Im going to get some mk3 alongside the big box and the special weapon box. Im torn between making a full 10 man flamer and melta squad or should I keep it down to 5 man squads perhaps to keep my standard tactical numbers up. Even a 10 man flamer and 5 melta or vice versa. It would leave me with 40/45/50 to split into troops. May even save a further 10 mk6 for the multimeltas and heavy flamer box when it arrived too or just get more when its released.
I'd say have a full 10-man squad of each, just so that you have enough to field them at full strength in the larger game sizes. Having said that, be mindful of the fact that the new special and heavy weapons kits will require some modification to fit the Mk III and Mk IV kits, as they're fitted for the new Mk VI kit. Also, if you intend on using any of the FW heavy weapons kits on Mk III bodies, they're fitted for Mk IV marines, so you'll likely find yourself carving off a little of the forearm plating on the right arm of each marine in the squad to ensure a snug fit. Had to do it myself with a squad of Mk III heavies with Proteus-II missile launchers.
GW hates Australia obviously. Kinda a running theme in a lot of videos on the channel is that Australia's prices are ludicrous compared to other places.
@@orionparish9858 Yeah when you see the prices its nuts! he has also broken down how it doesnt make sence when you take into account, shipping, taxes and money converstion. It's a disgusting joke tbh.

With the dark elf stuff you also get a bunch of dead Eldar basing materials.
TOC: "Traitor Salamanders pretty much aren't a thing."
Dragon Warriors: "Are we a joke to you?"
Yes.
@@TheOuterCircle Did not expect my shite joke to get a response.
Woot woot 🙌, A surprise to be sure but a welcomed one
I didn't think you were going to do one of these for them after the recent long vid you did, nice.

You saying the shields are too small for terminators?

Make it a 10 man squad with later on get a box just to make sergeants
