    it's funny how Bach never wrote for the clarinet, but the instrument suits his writing so perfectly. Especially played like this.

      It only really came into existence at the beginning of the 18th century and was not fully developed as an instrument until about 40 years after Bach's death. It was up to Mozart to write for it and it definitely suited him.

    Who says you can’t play a fugue on a single wind instrument?
    Also wonderful breathing technique!

    • @frederikhudac6836
      @frederikhudac6836 Год назад

      You are right, but in this interpretation it is not fuga in the full sence of word. Fugua, must have two, or more voices.
      So in this case, there miss other voice.
      :)
      Technically, It is the same case, when someone plays symphony, but alone, only his instrument, and calls It symphony. :)
      Good luck ;)

      Thanks for watching! You are right, I 'd have liked it to be faster too :) At the moment of the rec. this timing was the borderlpoint of my averall controll, especially playing by heart and with only one cut (I recorded it in two parts if I remember well.) I should recor again, surely can get a more fluent tempo today.

      @@rozmanlajos I don't think it needs to be faster than that. it is so important to hear and understand each single note here. extremely well done, Lajos

    Pls pardon my ignorance--we often see circular breathing among jazz players, but I wasn't aware orchestral players did that. Or is it a clue that Mr. Rozman has jazz background?

    • @rozmanlajos
      @rozmanlajos  Год назад +1

      Hello, my circular breathing .. nothing to do with jazz background :) :( I actually played - and play also today jazz and improvise with jazz musicians, but my breathing was mainly developped for gaining powerful capacity for playing Bach's music the most possible natural way. Before this it was sometimes needed in contemporary pieces ,(their language is very similar to modern jazz trends) I learnt it anno on such occasssion. I learnt... it's a long story, you are never good enough in it, always relearn and rethink... :)

      @@rozmanlajos P.s.: To my knowledge there were early clarinets around at the time, yet we don't hear them in Bach's music. Why is that? Thank you--

    • @gbarthg
      @gbarthg Год назад +1

      Circular breathing in playing musical instruments has been practiced for over 1000 years. The Japanese sho, which can be heard in gagaku (music of the Japanese Imperial Household), requires circular breathing. Many thanks to Lajos for a masterful demonstration.

    A "pointillistic" performance (was it really worth the pain? I doubt it); anyway, congratulations for the Luciferine show of virtuosity.

    • @gbarthg
      @gbarthg Год назад

      There is no pointillism in music, even with Webern. There are melody and harmony, and the way that they're conveyed depends on the instrumentation. Pointillism is a visual medium.

    i knew even before you played a note that you were hiding something and sure enough you messed with the audio such that it sounds like you're in a bathtub. why don't you forget the ridiculous echo and work on finding your core sound regardless of affect? stand out don't blend in.

    • @rozmanlajos

      It's a church, simply. No any extra effect as I remember.(years ago) I always work with this engineer, I like the sound he records. But you can hear it different of course. 🙂
