God this guy can write a song. And I mean a real song. But on the same token, as good as his writing is, I don't think it could work for another artist. That voice, really makes his lyrics real. And that heart, another artist couldn't belt out those lyrics like he does.

3 AM. I woke up in tears due to anxiety and recent loss of a loved one. Launched youtube and found this. These guys have helped me get through a really tough period in my life. Sean's voice always calms me down somehow. This song is perfect. I'm glad they're still out there, growing and giving the courage to keep on fighting. Thank you Smile Empty Soul

I remember being a teenager when these guys were still huge after their first album and at one point messaging them on Myspace and actually getting a real response and how excited I was that the band was actually talking to me. I think I said something about my friends and I working on our own band and trying to get our startup with it and they were just really cool and encouraging. Never panned out for me unfortunately, but that memory just popped back into my head while I was reading all of these comments and wow the nostalgia of being young and just enjoying that moment so much. I hope you guys never quit, I am a fan for life.

Well gosh! You know? Really good song writing is far more rare than people realize. This guy can right a song in an instant that we can all relate to. Us being normal folk! God I remember being knee deep in Iraqi shit when I first heard " this is war ".it was my second deployment. Years later, I'm still amazed how much I love thier songs and how they speak to me. The big bands and performers wished they had that.
Damn... SES has been my favorite band since their self titled album came out, and they still haven't let me down once.. :D

From beginning to the end, these men will always speak the truth to feelings we can't describe or contemplate withen our own beings.
after all these years and still digging the same sound and hair. Great band and underrated. Wish music would recognize how great rock music is and put pop and new rap in the trash where it belongs.

I play this band on the reg and have since the early 2000 when I was in college. Found their record and another band called Edgewater at a record store across from an old friend's dorm. I saw them both live within a year of discovering them.

These guys are better than Breaking Benjamin, but they get no love. One of the most criminally underrated bands ever. Im so stoked that SES is back! Their last album wasnt that great. But their lyrics are the best part. Sean has an amazing clean and screaming vocals. The best band in the world that no one has heard of.

ses is doing this for passion. not money or fame. if they were to go to major labels then ultimately they would be controlled musically, lyrically, and turn out like bb... Smile empty is one of the most underated bands..and I hate it yet I like that they refuse to sell oit.sean is a deep guy and his music is beautiful. His solo and this..there new album is classic smile empty soul..and I wish they was recognized more.theyd be huge

came here for the other songs. love their music since i first heard it. im a goth but this is one of the bands among very few(less than 5) i'll listen to. their music has developed so much and gets better through all the years. shit loads of "hardrock" bands cant even play and the fans of the music who were like this are all posers now . these guys destroy everyone!
I wanted to see SMS set in 03' when they we're opening up for Puddle of Mudd 😕 but Sean was sick and they came out an made an announcement that they weren't playing, the crowd was in "awe" I was there for SMS not Puddle of Mudd 😂 I was happy to meet Sean as he was walking out the front door, he signed my SMS CD 💯 we chatted for a quick min bc other people we're coming up to him so fast and I was like "WTF" 😣 Sean did say he and the guys we're on their way to make the "Silhouettes" video in L.A. I hope they'll make it out down to Orlando or Tampa soon 💯💯💯💯💯💯
