“Crow tit” is a type of bird and is reference to a Korean expression "If a crow-tit walks like a stork, it will tear its legs"
    Meaning a try hard basically.

    • @flyushkifly
      @flyushkifly 5 лет назад +8

K O meaning you can’t exceed your limitations without hurting yourself. Right?

This generation is aldo refered to as crow-tits

    • @NanciBK
      @NanciBK Год назад

I know this comment is old, but yes, “try hard” is not really a good translation.
It’s basically supposed to be an object lesson in a meritocracy, saying you should know your place. A Crow Tit is like a social climber who is trying to succeed where they don’t belong and are doomed to failure. Doomed to “split their legs” and be destroyed trying to be above their station.
That is why it’s so badass that BTS basically adopted the title and yet succeeded spectacularly.

I know you’re reacting to ddeang next but you HAVE to react to outro: tear it is my FAVORITE rap from them and J-hope will KILL you. He really shines in that song. Tear is my fav bts track and J-hope’s part at the end is my fav part period in music. I litterally cannot sit still when that song comes on. Please, please do react to it, you won’t regret it (especially the live performance, I was fortunate enough to actually hear it live and IT SLAPS)

K O I am a yoongi stan myself but it is FOR SURE a requirement. Before this song I DID NOT LIKE RAP SONGS. My first contact with rap and me liking it is through BTS songs but even then it was still combined with singing.... outro: tear just made me fall in love and let me discover that I just may like another genre of music if it has the right elements in it that I like. I mean nobody but BTS could do that, don’t you think? They truly are very special.

I've always felt that this cypher is less of an angry diss track aimed at haters or a particular person/people/societal ideal and has more of a "you hate me? that's cool dude i'm just gonna be over here loving myself and being successful" vibe. Like they've taken the saying 'the best revenge is a life lived well' or 'success is the best revenge' and put it into song form. And it's like they've let go of all the heavy anger and bitterness that has been festering inside them since pre-debut with all the bs that they've had to put up with and had thrown at them. It takes a lot of energy to be angry and I think they show that it's just not worth their time anymore to let haters try to force a response from them. They're so far above anyone else who tries to drag them down that it doesn't effect them anymore. Enough of my rambling 😅 Love your reaction as always! Your insights are always good to hear. You got everything spot on in my view. This is my favourite because of the chill instrumental and the meaning of the lyrics, it's different to the other cyphers. I said earlier that it's not angry but it kind of is, but it's not the I'm-going-to-obliterate-you-with-my-words type of anger it's the tried type of anger, the just-leave-us-alone-you're-not-worth-my-time-or-my-words. There I go again! I could go on a lot more about how much I love cypher 4 but this is already so looooooong 🤣🤣 I'll wrap it up now lol. The Truth Untold is an amazing vocal line song (it's very emotional) but I personally prefer House of Cards because it's more dramatic. Looking forward to your next video with the medley! And I'm still going to recommend J-Hope's mixtape Hope World to you. Have a good day todaaaay!!! 💜💜💜

4:54 I am SO GLAD you commented on that! I LOVE how they play with their vocals, it adds a playful dynamic where you can tell how comfortable they feel within the beat/song. I interpret it as they're so confident and comfortable with themselves and their music, that they aren't afraid to add little noises here and there for added effect. It's a subtle way to show their growth as both people and musicians
I think a lot of singers/rappers today are so focused on one thing or another that they forget to have fun and OWN the beat!

And If you are going to look at Ddaeng and the explanation, know beforehand that crowtits are a reference for young people or those below or without power. They use this allegory a lot in other songs like not today, Baepsae among others

  • @EM-rm2xh

**Best lyric video for Outro: TEAR is by ashleygold25!!!!**
Important to note on Outro:TEAR, it's NOT a diss track. Also, it's part of the 'Love Yourself' series. They used non-specific pronouns throughout the lyrics. It's a way to not only make the person in the songs they're talking to genderless (so the songs read woman to man, man to woman, man to man, sibling to sibling, child to parent, etc.) but it is also heavily emphasized that the person in the song is talking to themself (can't talk about self love/acceptance without talking about self-hatred).
The orchestra sampled in the song is from their Love Yourself Highlight Reel. Also, much like 'Serendipity' and 'Singularity' are two sides of the same coin; Outro: HER and Outro: TEAR are the same--how love can be pure and perfect and how love can cause loneliness/hatred/destruction.
Also, I'm a huge proponent of just listening to stuff solo, on your own, not in front of the camera. I think Outro: TEAR (and RM's recent work 'mono.') are two pieces that don't necessarily need a reaction. As always, your choice though! :)

You did really well decyphering the message within the song! They know who they have become, but acknowledge the past. At this point, they have accepted who they are, and they started to spread their love yourself agenda. It really does something to your soul when you sing along "I love, I love, I love myself"
Crow Tit is a korean figure of speach and refers to someone who is priviledged and didn't need to work hard to get where they are. They've been called that before, eventhough they literally started with nothing. In response, they made a song about it as well, called baepsae (=Crow Tit). The english title is Silver Spoon.

RM and Suga (dba Agust D) had released rap mixtapes about this time so if they lacked street cred in the rap world as idols, those hard tapes reestablished themselves as real rappers while simultaneously being totally engaged to the idol world. Selections from both are recommended.
Crow tits is a nickname for the younger generation which has been put down by the storks or adults. A Crow tit is a extremely cute little bird common in Korea. BTS often uses the term in their songs, most notably in "Not Today" and "Baepsae".

  • @sallycapotosto6927

A crow tit is a tiny bird in Korea. Their song Silver Spoon (aka Crow Tit or Baepsae - I probably spelled that wrong) likens their generation being called crow tits trying to keep up with the storks (or gold spoons). Its one of my favorites to watch the coreo to. You can only watch it through a dance practice video or a live performance. Somewhere there's an explanation video explaining the lyrics. Probably DKDKTV.
Hey, is that a Caseys General Store on your calendar there? Kinda looks like the logo.

Luv your reaction and thoughts..... I liked each Cypher more and more with each one progressing and maturing..... cannot wait until the Medley...... the guys, they are all so good but in their own ways.... Crow Tit as someone said is a small bird..... if it wants to keep up with a stork it will likely tear its legs off in the attempt and fail..... it ties back to a Korean expression..... BTS actually wrote a whole song about it called Baepsae..... there is a dance practice video, lyric videos, live performance videos, and another DKDKTV explained video about it..... they always find ways to address important or serious issues in very creative ways..... I love that one too.... and they usually really get in to sharing energy with the crowd during the live performances..... if you watch the dance practice and don’t pick one with English subtitles, just know they are doing Rock Paper Scissors at the beginning to see who has to dance the small dance break near the end - JHope normally dances it but in the practice someone else had to do it..... it is hilarious.....💜. Thanks! ☮️

I really hope in the future you listen to all the rapper's solo projects/songs. I hear so frequently that people think Yoongi/Suga is only a fast aggressive rapper but he is really just emotional. You need to check out all of Agust D (the mixtape itself), as well as first love (a solo song of Yoongi's from the Wings album), Nevermind, and Seesaw. Also, although he isn't the main person in the song I also recommend checking out Song Request by Lee SoRa which features Suga. Not only is his verse ingenious lyrically with him essentially being the personification of music, but it's also super chill.

I love UGH and DDAENG, but yeah, Outro: Tear is still the superior song in rap line. It just hits you differently especially the live buszon

@@TheChampOfMedium hi, thanks for replying but no, its not stupid at all, dont worry. But I just thought that it kinda resembles the beads that we Muslims use to count the holy chant and its called 'tasbih'. Sorry for mentioning religion here though. Its just cool to see it 😁😉

I know you reacted to this a long time ago, but this cypher was during their Love Yourself album where it's all about self-acceptance and self-love, and I think this cypher was meant to be less angry at others, . But it was also at the time where BTS was gaining A LOT of attention, and with success comes even more haters.I can remember a few times when Rm and Jimin both gt Death threats while on tour, which were taken very seriously, but thats why they say " Oh I'm sorry I'm breathing" and "I'm Sorry I'm healthy"

so it's probably been mentioned already, but 'crow tits' refers to their song Baepsae, which is another song you should check out when you get a chance! (and the Explained by a Korean)

As always, I love your reactions! When you react to Ddaeng, please include watching "Ddaeng Explained by a Korean" by DKDKTV. The Color coded translations simply don't do the lyrics justice. It is much more complex compared to all other BTS songs, and hyung line diss tracks. You'll get to see just how genius they are at word play and what makes them different.

If I'm not slipping into OT7 which seems to be the danger these days, I always had 1 bias and effin' 6 wreckers, who competed fiercely who did the best job at trying to distract me from my poor bias. Who loves them more than he loves himself, so he probably would give them anything they ever asked, even his sweet corner of ARMY. But now that it is a competition, he knows his strengths. There can be Suga swaddled into 5 towels, so well that barely the tip of his nose shows, and others are parading these days shirtless here and there and everywhere. But one glance from those cat eyes, and I just don't even remember ever seen any moon phases or Suga's lyrics tattooed into ribs.. Or seen&heard JK's gym sessions, or heard Jin's gaming sessions..

"Crow Tit" is also slang for "try hard." It's a bird found in Korea with a larger body but very thin legs. There's an expression along the lines of, if the crow tit tries to stand too high, its legs will give out from under it. Therefore, "try hard."
They have a song under the same name, and use the term pretty frequently in songs.
There's also an Explanation video from DKDKTV c:

Joon and Suga ( with others) wrote this , again, to throw shade on the people (mostly the Korean rapper BFree who told RM Suga they were sellouts from being rapper to being “Idols”. He said that because they wear makeup for their performances, they might as well call themselves girls. The other 3 cyphers are aimed at him and refer to their success and his lack, there of. After this cypher RM realized he was giving this guy too much thought and was wasting his time clapping back at him. Hr decided there wouldn’t be any more cyphers because they brought negativity and hate to his own life. Mic Drop has subtle references but isn’t a true cypher. One of the verses RM said something to the effect that people wouldn’t know BFree if it weren’t for BTS making him a part of the cypher series. So he decided to stop making cyphers and get that negativity out of his heart and move on. Sorry for the novel. I know you’re going to abs love Outro:Tear and also Ddaeng. They are both masterpieces. You can watch the making of Ddaeng on a BANGTAN bomb so you don’t have to worry about copyright strikes. Some songs for the vocal line are House of Cards, Jin’s intro - Epiphany...so many others. You’ve done you’re research tho and that’s great. You should watch Dkdktv to get what everything means on Ddaeng. It is legit crazy how well done RM’s part is- he makes wordplay in two languages. He Raps in both languages and does it beautifully and really witty. You will not be disappointed, i promise. “Outro: Tear” is also a true banger. You’ve got so much good stuff left to react to and I can’t wait. You do a really great job. Thanks for always treating our guys with respect. We 💜 You. Kelli

They speaking to Their haters RM saying name , cause Their name isn't something regular it has the meaning behind , RM was called ugly and that it's not a common face in idol group and that he do not fit Korean Beauty standards , They even pushed to the point that They made Him read a mean comments, He recived and not only Him but to the point of Cypher RM received Death Treaths , many of haters were saying and wishing Him death, They were and are still calling Them lazy , putting everywhere Their hate comments , are not happy with Their lifes so want His without fighting without putting any effort , they were saying that BTS do not deserve anything calling them scams , crow tits that no matter how hard They will try They will not go high because of Their name , that They are from small company that The background of the other idol groups will pinpoint every their winning so They should stop trying, pushing, that they /haters would use everything to hate on BTS. Thats the background story to this ... Check Out very emotional song 2!3! This is a thank You song for the ARMY for Their continues struggles and hardships and that They /Us were dealing with all Their Tears and pains it's
