Lots of good information here. Thank you. I just recently had a problem with thread breaking and after the 3rd. time rethreading the machine got my user manual out and it said the needle could be broken or bent or my tension was too tight or I could be using the wrong needle. I was sewing on knit fabric and couldn't remember what needle I had on so I put a needle on for stretch fabrics, loosened my tension just a bit and taa daa problem solved. But I do think using a good quality thread is important too so when I use up the thread I have now I'm going to switch to a better quality thread from now on.
Hello Sherrill, Thank You for this information, on metallic thread use. So many of these things I did not know. I don't have much experience at all using metallic thread. So I will keep this video for future reference. I agree with you keeping a notebook on all of your tips videos. Is a very good thing. I think I've started one? But I haven't added to it lately. But I'm going to add this tip to it. Looking forward to your next video as always have a good day.❤
Thank you for the tutorial. I have all kinds of presser feet for my machine, but mainly use the straight stitch one. Never change, now I understand pretty much how to use the different feet. I'll be practicing their usage for the next hour or so. This has been very helpful......
The tips for sewing with metallic thread was so very helpful. I have a project that would look great with metallic thread, and I was dreading using it. I shall sew forth with renewed confidence thanks to your timely tips.
Thank you for the very informative info on presser foot. I just sewed a couple of table runners following your instructions. Perfect. You're a wonderful teacher. Blessings.
Wow. What a mission you went on to conquer sewing with metallic thread. I quickly realised that cheap threads are a nightmare, even for handspring. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for all of your instructional videos. I actually can stop and look and look at stuff from my machine. You helped me out so much! Thank you!!
My machine is close to 65 years old and only goes forward and backward and zigzag. I have a buttonhole foot and a zipper foot, but i enjoy using it. Thanks for teaching me new things every day.
Thanks It's good to know that even the nice machines you have still have difficulties like I do with my cheap machine. I can use this info. Thanks again.
I bought some metallic thread from Amazon. I only wanted it for some light hand stitching I was doing on a project for my grand daughter. It was horrible to work with. It split and knotted with almost every stitch. I thought about throwing it away when the project was completed.
I enjoy all of your videos. They are all helpful and interesting. I am wondering where you got thread stand for the big spool of thread. Happy stitching 🧵🪡
Hi Mary Anne. Here is the link to the Christmas tree quilt: ruclips.net/video/M7RNbiuzO28/видео.html Glad the sewing tips were helpful. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
I’ve bee. Using the prewound bobbins in my BabyLock Presto 2 for awhile and they are great, but I just went to Superior threads and couldn’t find the nice big box of white bobbins (class15) like you have! Maybe I just missed something. I did see the smaller packages though so thst would work!
Hi Sandy. I purchased my bobbins from The Sewing and Quilting Center of Southern Utah in St. George, Utah. Hope this helps. Glad the sewing tips were helpful. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
Hi Sandy. I purchase the pre-wound bobbins from The Sewing and Quilting Center of Southern Utah in St. George, Utah. Check out etsy.com and amazon.com to see if they sell it. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
@ Thanks so much! I’ve been to St. George 20+ years ago as I had an older friend who lived in Kanab. I will check out the store you mentioned - I know we went to a quilt store or maybe more the last time I was up but I just don’t remember any names - maybe not there anymore! I lived in Phoenix at that time (lived there 47 years before moving to,North Carolina so I’m positive I won’t be able to get back there anymore). I’ll keep looking - I was at AQG Lancaster back in September but don’t remember if I went through the Superior booth % threads always draw me in🫢🫢😃😃
Hi Ellen. There is no name on this stand. I purchased it The Sewing and Quilting Center of Southern Utah in St. Gorge. You could go on their website and look at their thread stands. Also, look on etsy.com or amazon.com to see if they have a thread stand similar to it. Hope this helps. Glad the sewing tips were helpful. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
This is the best time to learn. It will prevent frustration and educate you why the different feet are needed. Most new sewers think that the foot the machine came with does everything. That’s why taking a sewing class in person is so invaluable.

Don’t give up. We all started out knowing nothing. Someday, much of this will be automatic.
