    Donna could you do videos actually making the yogurts, especially the non dairy options?
    That would really help us newbies

      I just found out I'm type 1 diabetic. Donna do you have any suggestions on making the yogurt or kefir in a way that won't spike my blood sugar. Both the l reuteri with half and half and the kefir made with whole milk make my blood sugar spike 70 points.

      The first time I made Lruteri oat milk yogurt it turned to slime. I think I might have killed the starter.The 2nd time it was tasteless. The 3rd batch it kind of looked the same as usual. I was on the phone with my daughter it had about another hour for the 36 hrs.when I looked up I told my daughter this stuff is starting to breath.when I tasted it had a tart taste like yogurt. Getting ready to make my 4th batch. Didn't bother with the nut bag & when I added starter I added some date sugar I just wont fill the jars as full. Donna I have 3 of your books.

    I made this with coconut milk and again with coconut cream and they both came out watery. I doubled the inolin and added the gelatin but it wasn't creamy at all. Any reason why?

    • @xmonikerhotmailcom
      @xmonikerhotmailcom Год назад

      Karma. Gelatin is boiled up arseholes and eyeballs of cows and pigs. Use agar agar, no animals harmed.

    Thank you Donna for your video, please could you advise if I can use the 3 strains, L reuteri, L. gasseri and coagulan as used in Dr davis SIBO yogurt when using coconut milk. I have made the SIBO yogurt using cows milk successfully and have made the coconut version with just the L reuteri with success but was unsure if you could use all these 3 strains together in coconut milk and if so could I use the SIBO combo from my last batch (cows milk) which has been frozen in my next coconut batch. Many thanks for any advice you can give.

    • @ErnstHeinze-iw4gq
      @ErnstHeinze-iw4gq 2 месяца назад

      These strains all need a different fermentation temperature so you can't make them all together.
      About 50°C for coagulans and I don't know for gasseri.
      Have a look in the book.

      Don't mix with other strains when fermenting.

  • @rochelles.8387
    @rochelles.8387 10 месяцев назад +1

    Help. I made a batch using my original starter. I have a slight amount of separation which is fine but there is a tan/brown growth on the top. I spooned it off and it smells fine. I did taste about 1/4 teaspoon and it tastes fine but is it safe to eat? I whisked it after I scooped the growth off and it is smooth and creamy. What is the growth and is it safe to eat?

    • @rochelles.8387
      @rochelles.8387 10 месяцев назад +1

      I used 2 tablespoons of the first starter yogurt and 2 tablespoons of acacia powder and 2 teaspoons agar agar in addition to the coconut cream solids and organic soy milk (I'm fine with the soy and can't eat oats).

      You’ll need to go to her website cultured Food life. Click on the menu bar and you will see the different items discussed. There is a link that says products. Click on that and you will see the different culture she sells. Yogurt plus is one of them. It’s not as powerful as l reuteri but very good nevertheless and takes only eight hours instead of 36 hours.

    • @thodgecad5372

    • @bwin3401
      @bwin3401 Год назад

      @@thodgecad5372 here’s what I did. Maybe this will help. I used canned coconut milk from Thailand. One brand says it’s organic cream which is very good. I refrigerate the cans and then scoop out the cream which rises to the top. What’s left is a watery milk which can be used for whatever. After the yogurt is done, I shake the jars to mix any watery stuff with the more solid stuff and immediately refrigerate. Works for me every time. Good luck. Try again.
