Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Princess Diana are the ones I thought of that get depicted the most. While some have been successful, other times it's like let these people rest! We don't need any more movies or shows about them.
Yes, Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth were the first people that came to mind. It's like let these people rest. I wouldn't be surprised if Princess Diana makes an appearance in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic as the two were very good friends.
A poor girl. Delusional, most likely caused by tuberculosis. Used and killed by power-hungry men, who all thought that "God" stood behind them and their killings. One victim out of hundrets of thousands, of that "holy" war alone.
She did an amazing job, but that movie was a dumpster fire and the reason I'm skeptical about Back to Black. I hope she does get cast to play Evelyn Hugo.
Queen Elizabeth I&II - George VI - Diana, princess of Wales, Elizabeth, empress of Austria and the King of Rock himself: Elvis Presley. Just to name a few
I think there’s nothing more to say about Marilyn. The poor woman has been exploited even 60 years after her death. Even some of the more respectful biopics have some historical inaccuracies
Most filmmakers don't care about accuracy. The Queen biopic even had the band involved, and it had some ridiculous things in it, like the "invention" of We Will Rock You in 1980... :D (The song was released in 1977)
You show that crazy Frankenstein version of Jesse James, but not his classic appearance on The Brady Bunch? Missed opportunity! And no Lincoln the vampire slayer? To hell with copyrights.
Each of these figures (minus Jesse James) is a great figure in alternate history as well, but they still don't have alternate history movies or shows about them.
Yea! Thank you for saying Napoleon was average height! One of history’s most commonly repeated myths. However, Josephine was about 6foot so he was nearly as many inches shorter as years younger than his wife so I’m never going to watch Scott’s Napoleon.
Several famous historical persons appeared in the short lived TV show "Timeless," including Lincoln. And...I thought Joan of Arc was Noah's wife ha ha!
Everyone I thought of was on this list except Queen Elizabeth I. I didn't think of Jesse James or Joan of Arc. I was sure the top 3 would be Napoleon, Jesus and QEI.
Cleopatra wasn't white either I don't know if she was a black or not but even if she was black even if she wasn't black she would look like women from Egypt who were brown skin like like Indian on Iran women
Modern Greeks are pretty generically similar to ancient Greeks, so you can look at modern Greeks for a decent idea of her coloring. Probably. Her ancestors were Greek and her family wasn’t known for marrying outside the family, so she probably looked Greek.

All of them
George Washington
Starting this weekend, with an appearance on SNL:
Beavis and Butthead.
Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Princess Diana are the ones I thought of that get depicted the most. While some have been successful, other times it's like let these people rest! We don't need any more movies or shows about them.
Marilyn Monroe Ji is the popular choice. For good reason. Rather.
The real Marilyn Monroe didn’t deserve to be miserable and in so much pain, may she rest in peace…
Andrew Dominick is one sadistic perv
I agree with you completely.
*_Queen Elizabeth I_* and her mother, *_Anne Boleyn_* have been portrayed numerous times on film and television, no less than 30 times for Elizabeth.
The Kennedys and the Royal Family both seem to get a lot of biopics about them, due to how dramatic their stories were, and ripe for potential.
Yes, Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth were the first people that came to mind. It's like let these people rest. I wouldn't be surprised if Princess Diana makes an appearance in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic as the two were very good friends.
That Princess diana were an awful radical rather. The late Queen were rather Great.
Joan of Arc was a true French hero.
She was 19-years-old.
A poor girl. Delusional, most likely caused by tuberculosis. Used and killed by power-hungry men, who all thought that "God" stood behind them and their killings.
One victim out of hundrets of thousands, of that "holy" war alone.
Winston Churchill (played by Brendan Gleeson, Timothy Spall, John Lithgow and even Gary Oldman)
Ana De Armas was probably the best thing about "Blonde." It's a shame that she wasn't part of a better movie.
She did an amazing job, but that movie was a dumpster fire and the reason I'm skeptical about Back to Black. I hope she does get cast to play Evelyn Hugo.
You should do a list of the most depicted historical writers, poets and playwrights.
William Shakespeare and Mark Twain

Queen Elizabeth I&II - George VI - Diana, princess of Wales, Elizabeth, empress of Austria and the King of Rock himself: Elvis Presley. Just to name a few
No. Not that awful radical Princess diana.
Half the cast of “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” are on this list!
Harriet Tubman needs many more movies. She is my favorite action hero.
Denis Villeneuve plans to do a movie about Cleopatra. Hopefully, it will focus more on her political acumen.
Or her kinslaying.
@@Zett76 That too, I hope.
I heard Patty Jenkins was about to direct a film with Cleopatra with Gal Gadot at one point as well
wouldn't Julius Caesar have it over Cleopatra? He's in nearly every movie depicting her, as well as SPARTACUS and versions of JULIUS CAESAR
I'd like to see a biopic about John Laurens. He lived a short, yet interesting life.
Nelson Mandela shouldve received an honorable mention.
In my opinion, that would be Cleopatra. Have a happy monday afternoon, Rebecca. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
I think there’s nothing more to say about Marilyn. The poor woman has been exploited even 60 years after her death. Even some of the more respectful biopics have some historical inaccuracies

You're going to tell me we have more depictions of Jesse James than Winston Churchill or Albert Einstein? No way.
Gregory peck was lincoln in the film i remember, Robert Powell was Jesus, Ingred Bergman was Joan of arc.

@@jenewok, there were a few films about his life
You show that crazy Frankenstein version of Jesse James, but not his classic appearance on The Brady Bunch? Missed opportunity! And no Lincoln the vampire slayer? To hell with copyrights.
Daniel Day Lewis won an Oscar for his portrayal of Lincoln!
A few honorable mentions:
Julius Caesar
Edward Teach AKA BlackBeard
Jeffrey Dahmer
Albert Einstein
Oda Nobunaga
William Shakespeare
Elvis
No to Jeffrey Dahmer. Let his story be forgotten.
Each of these figures (minus Jesse James) is a great figure in alternate history as well, but they still don't have alternate history movies or shows about them.
I’m surprised Henry the 8th isn’t on the list.
Marilyn Monroe🤩
Yea! Thank you for saying Napoleon was average height! One of history’s most commonly repeated myths. However, Josephine was about 6foot so he was nearly as many inches shorter as years younger than his wife so I’m never going to watch Scott’s Napoleon.

I love how they depict these celebs in the Epic Rap Battles Of History. Hilarious!
Frida Kahlo 🎨
"Frida" (2002)
"Coco" (2017)
Everyone I thought of was on this list except Queen Elizabeth I. I didn't think of Jesse James or Joan of Arc. I was sure the top 3 would be Napoleon, Jesus and QEI.
A movie from 1898?!? Wow!
John F. Kennedy, definitely! 16 times....the best being Caspar Phillipson!
Where is Queen Elizabeth I and Elizabeth II????
Not a single member of the Kennedy family...?
Marilyn is the most recent in time and people saw the real human being. ALONG WITH Martin King.
You guys didn't mention Abraham Lincoln the Vampire Slayer
They did work in Brendan Fraser in Badazzled, the movie where he plays multiple characters after a deal with the Devil. Including Abe Lincoln.
Jesse James didn’t need to killed
Marie Antoinette was much more virtuous.
Anne Boleyn
JFK
Elvis
King Henry the 8th
Cleopatra was black not white
Jesus?
JFK should’ve been on this list
Cleopatra wasn't white either I don't know if she was a black or not but even if she was black even if she wasn't black she would look like women from Egypt who were brown skin like like Indian on Iran women
She had greek ancestry so she was kinda white
Modern Greeks are pretty generically similar to ancient Greeks, so you can look at modern Greeks for a decent idea of her coloring. Probably. Her ancestors were Greek and her family wasn’t known for marrying outside the family, so she probably looked Greek.
When will we get a French language portrayal of Napoleon?
Je ne sais pas.
AH probably the most there are a lot of German films about World War II
Bruno who played hitler should’ve been on no 1
Hmmm.
