This is about my home town :-) Thank you for showing how beautiful it is. I am not an expert about the history of my town but I think the information is pretty accurate, and yes, summer is not the only time of the year when you can come and enjoy the town. I loved the video
You guys always produce the best videos! I lived in Italy for a few years. I’m really enjoying your Italian trip. Reminds me of how beautiful it is there. Safe travels! 🛬
Thank you! 😊 We do our best to really show the destinations we visit - glad it shows. Wow, we’d love to actually live abroad somewhere for a couple of years. That must have been a very memorable experience to have lived in Italy a few years. Such a beautiful place!
I have travelled to many countries including Sicily. Sicily is my favourite. Incredible history, incredible scenery, and incredible people. If you've never been, I highly recommend it.
@@DB_Craft_872 Yes I am well aware of that. But thank you for taking the time and effort to point it out. Now jog on and scour the rest of RUclips to point out minor mistakes.
Beautiful video. It looks like a gorgeous and picturesque town. The laundry place was interesting, makes you appreciate your automatic!! Loved the views from up the hill. We’ve had some good times in Sicily, so we’re looking forward to watching your round trip 🍻
Thank you! 😊 Cefalu is a very charming town. The views and hike atop la rocca were gorgeous. We couldn’t have asked for a better hiking spot near town. Looking forward to sharing Taormina next (it was our favorite place we visited in Sicily).
Thank you! 😊 So excited for your upcoming trip to Sicily! You’ll get to enjoy the beach weather, which we missed. We’ll just have to make it back in the Summer one day. Taormina is our next stop and was our favorite place in Sicily. Looking forward to posting it next Sunday!
Great video! Cefalù is absolutely beautiful, at all times of the year.. personally I prefer summer but the small main beaches become very crowded. Other less crowded beaches can be found nearby. Be sure to reserve for lunch if you want to go to a specific spot. Enjoy!
And the center of Sicily is even more underrated. You can ski in winter on the Madonie. In Caltanissetta during the Holy week there is so much to see etc ...in any case thank you for your appreciation for my land, greetings
Thanks for sharing. It reminds me when my rental car got stuck there in 2010 and paid 350 Euro to get back to the Sigonella Navy Base. After retiring from US 🇺🇸 Army at age 41 in 2011, I wanted to relax so I started cruising. I just recently completed 9-consecutive cruises bringing my total to 39-cruises with almost 350-sea days. Now, I'm planning the extreme opposite to travel cheap and collect Countries to add to my over 30-Countries. Now, living somewhat frugal lifestyle in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and go back to San Antonio, Texas to visit families and friends and renew my auto registration. Stay safe y'all!
Hi Guys ! - Looks like a nice life back in the day as you emerge from your castle & have some treats 😋 do some laundry & go on a hike 🚶♂️ 🚶♀️- Cool 🐈 at the end.
Haha 😂 Add in those beautiful views of the sea and you’ve got the perfect day! The cat cracked us up; it was so tidy cleaning up after itself on the beach.
That is very interesting thats how they used to do clothes, the things they came up with the limited amount of resources back then. I think that everything back then looked a lot neater prob cuz im not use to it but quickly would hate it and want the simplicity we are accustomed to but still, one day to time travel be okay, right. Thanks for another great video to enjoy and both of you stay safe
Right? Seeing how people back then were creative in using the natural elements is fascinating. Definitely more inconvenient! How long did they have to carry their load of laundry 🧺 to the public point? Thanks for watching!
Thanks for a well-done video. Three of us gals are heading to Sicily in September and are in the middle of planning where to go, what to do, etc. We are trying to stay at an Airbnb for a few days in one place and then for 2-3 nights in Palermo before flying home...it's just so hard to know where to stay and yet still be able to do day trips to as many places as possible. We are talking about Cefalu as well as places near and around Taormina. I'm now going to watch the rest of your videos. This was just my first!
From where did you rent the car ? We will go in a few days and we want to rent a car to visit the entire island . Is better to rent online before we get there or rent it directly from there ?
Someone wrote an article about this in 1985 apparently, and here we still are, asking the same question. Sicily is absolutely stunning. The two most beautiful Italian movies are made in Sicily, Cinema Paradiso and Malena.
I'm from Palermo but I live in Dublin. Since last summer I brought my Irish boyfriend to spend few hours in Cefalù he has decided that this is the place where we should move lol
Thank you :) Glad you're enjoying them! Yes, our U.S. CDC Covid Vaccination card worked like a green pass to allow us to eat at restaurants, take public transport, visit tourist attractions, fly domestically, etc.
Unfortunately not. We left Sicily in January and move over to Southern Italy, then Rome. And, we're now in a new country which will post this Sunday. Thanks for watching :)
I’m not sure, but I think it’s because other Italian destinations have better destination marketing campaigns and dollars to drive visitors. It seems like everyone has to go to Rome, Venice, Florence, Amalfi Coast, Milan, Dolomites, Lake Como, etc. Visiting those places will take 2-3 trips, which is hard for a lot of people since most want to visit new countries every year. So, people go to Italy the first 2-3 trips and never end up in Sicily. So, I think it’s mainly a lack of marketing investment over the other destinations, which results in tourists also not prioritizing it over the others with their limited resources.
If the people are smart enough they shouldn't be worried about the mafia because a tourist stays in a specific place for a very short period of time and the effects of mafia impacts exclusively on the locals. Mafia doesn't work like a gang from the hood. Anyway they give you the perfect response: Italy has a lot to offer and the most famous places always overshadow the least famous ones and the tourists always want to visit new countries
That's wrong. The Mafia takes a cut out of tourist revenue, and blackmails restaurants and bars into paying it bribes. It also control distribution of commodities like coffee and tobacco. You are affected by it even if you think otherwise. @@thetemptedvida8650

Sicily is one of the most interesting place on the face of the earth. I want to see the Stromboli volcano at night while it is erupting.😍
I think it’s better to go up during winter. I did the hike end of september and was sweating like hell
😂 Great advice! Hike in December, beach in September.
Great video, adding Sicily to the list

Vero! Beloved Sicily!
I love your videos...
Thank you 😊 We’re glad you love them so much!
Looks not busy at all. We're going in August. It will probably be a bit more busy. Any advice from locals of where to eat?

Agreed! Sicily should be on everyone’s list who visits Italy 🇮🇹
hi coming to Sicily in December for 3 to 6 months which city would you recommend thank you.
You spoke of Temple of Diana: was it BC or AD??
Whats the weather like in april? is it warm?
I'd say from 17 to 23 degrees. Although it can get really warm on a sunny day in April, sometimes even over 25 degrees. I'm a local :)
@@Stan995 Wow! This is great news...travelling to Cefalu in April...flying in from Stockholm...brrrr:-DDD

😂 Sounds like a wonderful idea to us! We were very impressed with Cefalu.
Posti Bellissimi
By the way: my great-grandmother and her sisters from Cefalù had another name for La Rocca - “il Castadù” (castle, fortress in dialect).
Thanks for the local insight! What a great place to be connected to!
Can you please make a video on the camera gears you use for your RUclips video.....
We are planning to do one soon!
question....not understanding your opening statement?...so why are we unpopular?
Driving italian style..... 2 lanes really means3. Everyone seems to part and make it work.. Scared us silly at first/
Haha 😂 So true! We were mostly worried about the damage we might get on our rental car!
I went in February wish I stayed there instead of palermo
Staying in Cefalu is the way to go!
Mondello good too
