At the Nat Pagle camp you mentioned in this video, in one of the houses there was a Pandaren that use to be named 'Master Baiter'. He was renamed some time ago to some generic Asian sounding name, but I was surprised you didn't mention him when talking about all the npcs with Nat.
I know he's not exactly fishing, but he is selling fishing supplies and is one of the most famous Anglers, so I was kinda hoping he'll make into the list. His name is Jiang Ziya and has really sad story - he was treated unfarily by Blizzard during Fruit Bowl Controversy. Before that he was known to the world as "Master Baiter".
Honorable mention: That ogre fishing in the updated Blackfathom Deeps dungeon trying to catch the crab to "get da treasure!" you interrupt him while he has it in his net and he uses a bunch of fishing-themed abilities to try and kill you because it gets away and flees to a nearby cave.
6:35 He is a hobgoblin but you've pointed out the biggest issue with Hobgoblins in Cata onwards, they just look like Ogres, and Goblins already get along with Ogres! The old WC3 concept art for Hobgoblins looked much better
The tuskaar at Iskaara are indeed using a legit fishing method, especially combined with the frequent mentions of bait fish in their village. Line fishing from a moving boat is great for catching really big fish, especially when using smaller fish as bait, so they're hauling up the wow equivalent of things like marlins and bluefin tuna.
Fun fishing fact: The act of dragging your fishing lure behind a moving boat in order to catch fish, is called "trolling". This is where the concept of internet trolling comes from. You drag a lure hoping that someone will bite.
big shoutout to Conjurer Margos and Trashy the raccoon in Dalaran with whom I've made many fishing friends and learned some cool things from. He's got the best fishing spot: a private floating island that somehow stays a stocked pond. Also glad to see Crend the Pointless in Azure Span. We wave when we pass through there
Crendor you missed 2 groups that are particularly important to me. Both in Caverns of Time, Old Hillsbrad Foothills there are fishermen at the pond near Tarren Mill that regularly complain about the wife, and there's Nat Pagle and Hal McAllister in Southshore that also have their own lines
Honourable mentions should be Bwonsomdi - the only spirit healer that fishes That pandaren with about four or five rods in his arms (he is not far from #1 pic) Various bears found by rivers in Grizzly Hills and Darkshore
Something this video reminded me of is that MoP is the BEST expansion for worldbuilding. With us having gone through classic through wrath, and now seeing the cata zones, they really pale in comparison to the small unique touches and flavorful NPCs that the MoP zones had. MoP classic when?
I wish someone would do a vid that puts together everything known about Nat Pagle in every expansion and version of the game--the entire totality of Nat Pagle, past, present, and . . . well, who knows?
