This is a concept album by Slayer. If you watch the videos from this album in order its a whole story of why that guy killed the baldy and what he did to end up there in the first place.
There was a guitarist that co-founded Slayer with the bald guitarist, who died in 2013. He wrote 50 % of everything from the band and it was a devastating loss for them. So this is actually a tribute to him. They wrote it for him; as if he wrote it about his way of life. This is how they mourn him. Jeff Hanneman was his name.
In this album they created whole set of videos ,a story about this 1 eyed guy and obviously this who'll mess was made by him just to create opportunity to kill the tall bold ugly inmate who's head he cut off.

if you want to get the rythm you have to raise your energy, listen to the drum beats ignore the rest and when you get the drum beats down then you can appreciate the rest of the music and eventually the same song has 5 versions of the same song depending on your focus, lead guitar, rythm guitar, bass, drums, singer.
I went from slipknot to black metal then death metal then and only then did i listen to thrash i would not recommend to do what i did because it was a very hard journey

I think Slayer is too heavy and aggressive for someone who's not accustomed to metal. You should start with Iron Maiden, Judas Priest or for something a little bit heavier then those two, Metallica. But the video was very interesting
