Got to experience Pantera and Slayer when they toured together in 2001, the mosh pits were absolutely brutal. Multiple broken noses, and even a broken arm. Seen lots of big guys picking people up so they wouldn't get trampled too.
Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax and Megadeth toured here in Spokane on the same bill in the Summer of 2000 and there were riot cops outside the venue. It was nuts.
I saw Pantera on 4.6.92 with Skid Row opening. SR was touring for their Slave to the Grind album and Pantera was touring Vulgar Display of Power. We got stoned and had a great time. Still the best show I have ever seen in my life. Craziest mosh pit I had ever seen. Nobody puts on a show like Pantera did. I am happy I have that memory. I picked up a Dimebag pick. I wish I still had it, but it was stolen from me one day.
I have seen Slayer on almost every tour from their start. Saw them on their last tour in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. My favorite show was at First Avenue in Minneapolis with Motorhead and Overkill. I keep hoping they will get back together for one more tour.
It’s not only an incredibly heavy song but as far as songwriting, it’s pretty unique. No chorus, no verse and every riff you hear is played only once except for the intro riff. If thrash metal was in the dictionary, Raining Blood would be the definition 🤘🏼
Dave, I loved watching you smile throughout this performance. I was smiling right there with you. The love is real for slayer! I have seen them a few times in concert in Salt Lake City, Utah. Slayer is definitely a special band for metalheads!!
I remember seeing them in Brisbane Australia in 1998, in a venue that only held 4000. One of the loudest shows I have ever seen and the mosh pit was absolutely brutal.
I was fortunate enough to see slayer play one of their very first shows, and I was at their very last show. I’ve been watching slayer live since they were young club band. Great band one of my all-time favorite bands. Fun reaction 👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘🤘
@Megadeth1921 Did you see them at The Forum? I saw them at their 9th final show in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with Ministry, Primus and Phil Anselmo. Were those the same bands that opened for your show?
@@laudanum669 yes at the Forum. Primus was the opening band and I can’t remember the Third band. I also saw the same tour in 2017 with Lamb of God and Behemoth.
Only had the chance to see them on their "farewell tour" in 2018. One of the best shows I've been to. They really brought it and we moshed like it was the last show...because, for us, it literally was.
Decade of Aggression is literally displayed on the wall of my room. Such a good sampling of Slayer's hits live. I was lucky enough to see them on their farewell tour in the US.
Saw them on the “Reign in Pain” tour in Newcastle in 1987. Never seen as many bodies raining down in my entire gigging life. Love your smile Dave. Truly a game-changing band, especially if you have never seen or heard of Venom LOL 😉 Also great to see Jeff playing, Kerry with his hair and Tom headbanging before his neck fusion. RIP Jeff.
It still puts me in awe and disbelief, not only remembering the countless times I destroyed the pits seeing them live, but also that I never will again..... 🤘🥃cheers to the mightiest of thrash bands.
Bassists who do main vocals.... Glen Benton (Deicide) Fernanda Lira (CRYPTA) Ross Dolan (Immolation) Those are the only ones I can say without looking....lmfao.... There's also an honorable mention: Sean Beasley of Dying Fetus, although he does split vocal duties with guitarist John Gallagher.
So pure and beautiful!!! And I’m not talking about the lovely lady on the right. Slayer were just one step heavier and scarier than anyone else when they released their first 3 albums. Hail!!!
Pantera walk was always a mosh, but I must say, coming out of the Boat hose in Virginia with a boot print on back of my shirt after Suicidal tendecies ,mosh was brutal lol.And im 61 now,so i saw ac/dc in seattle in 76 etc.GWAR,and seven dust like 15 times lol, seen them all
You have to be ready to lister to this song.. It's not for first timers listening to metal.. You gotta build up to appreciate and understand what they are doing.
Man...Decade of Agression has GOT to be one of the best live albums of all time.🤘🤘🤘 . Ash might like Seasons in the Abyss. It's not nearly as "frantic". Actually, the whole album Seasons in the Abyss is probably more to Ash's taste than South of Heaven. . When someone joins Slayer, orientation consists of 4 words - play fast, play loud.😂
Finally a live version! This song (and this band really) hit so much harder live. The album version is so thin, I don't understand the fans pushing it so hard.
@@Quarthon I was gonna say it sounded a bit muffled for my taste. But then it kicked into Black Magic, and regardless of either complaint, this version is killer.
If it's too loud you're too old!!!! So says Gene Simmons from Kiss so take it for what it's worth 😅😅😅 I also saw them on the farewell tour in the states and they came out played half a song and walked off saying Tom's voice gave out so goodbye Slayer and goodbye $180 for standing rooms tickets ✌️🧐😔
Slayer is a great band , I was at a show and during a break in songs I saw the crowd disperse and saw a few bloody smiling faces...I don't mean bloody like you brits do I mean actually bloody....yep violent good times.
I love this version but if u get the time I think u should check out ice ts metal band bodycount. They do a thier own version of it n it's fuckin brilliant
ha ha i really enjoyed your experience of a slayer concert!!!! i ll tell you what happened in my first time watching Slayer. It was back in 1999 during the Diabolous in Musica tour. The gig was in Thessaloniki, Greece and the venue was a really really small place no more than 1000-1200 capacity. as you can imagine the place was more than packed. System of a Down were their opening act, totally unknown in Greece then, so you can understand everyone΄s joy when their appearance was cancelled due to Serj's throat infection. anyway, show begins, venue is filled with a reeking fog from cigarettes and joints, i m in the center and middle, right in front of the mosh pit. going in going out moshing and headbanging pretty thrashy stuff, until..... South of Heaven. it was then when a smartass beside me lit up inside the venue a naval torch. in a few minutes, prob due to lack of oxygen, i start seeing black butterflies and realising that i m about to faint. i quickly turn back, pushing and shoving going out for fresh air. i stay there for a while, i think i lost the antichrist and chemical warfare, and then..... BACK IN THE MOSH!!!! aaaa happy Slayer days.... :)
As a kid in the 80's i never really enjoyed Tom's voice. I loved their sound but i couldn't get i to his voice. I preferred Pantera or Anthrax. But now that I'm in my 50's i am really enjoying Slayer.
Raining Blood / Black Magic great combo for a live performance!
She said, "It's Too Loud", break up with her!!🤣🤣🤣
She is very sick, poor girl.
@@FallingPigso?
"If it's too loud, your too old" !!
Special bunch here I see..
Just two lames together.

The Golden Era of Slayer! Played so tight, incredible! Riffs from heaven!
this version is Rainning blood + black magic

That transition to Black Magic is F'ing legendary!

Hell yeah, fucking Slayer !!! 🤘 😈
I love Slayer seen them 7 times over my lifetime and loved every show. Cool video.
Great job with your two's reaction to Raining blood from Slayer and picture them doing this song FOR THERE SET PLAYING WITH DOWN.

'Raining blood, from the lacerated sky!' What a lyric :)
Saw them August 30th 2001 Brisbane Australia festival hall with Machine head one of the best concerts ever.

Saw them 2003 and the pit was going so hard you couldn't see the band through the dirt cloud.
🤘SLAYER RULES🤘
So pure and beautiful!!! And I’m not talking about the lovely lady on the right. Slayer were just one step heavier and scarier than anyone else when they released their first 3 albums. Hail!!!
Saw Slayer in 85 with Sacrifice and Dark Angel. The most violent crowd Id ever seen way back then.
I would see Kerry King often at the target I worked at about 15 years ago and I’m pretty sure he still lives in the area
Dave Lombardo held as one of the best drummers
Jily`s Rockworld ,wow that takes me back.Is it still there(Manchester right)?
The only individual in history to not get an adrenaline rush from slayer. Wtf break up is in order bro.
there was a bass player vocalist in this band called the "BEATLES"
you might have heard of them.....
Pantera walk was always a mosh, but I must say, coming out of the Boat hose in Virginia with a boot print on back of my shirt after Suicidal tendecies ,mosh was brutal lol.And im 61 now,so i saw ac/dc in seattle in 76 etc.GWAR,and seven dust like 15 times lol, seen them all
It IS two different songs. Reign in Blood and Black Magic. theres just no pause in between in this version. They just go right into B.M.
I was at this show. They recorded Decade of aggression. Clash of the Titans tour. Tampa area. I think Zehpyrhills 1990? Mushrooms!!!
I also saw 2 shows on final tour Sacramento then Oakland.
Hell Awaits, the entire album, is still my fave.
i think you should show ash fear factory self bias resonator

Slayer is the name for god on the lips and hearts of all proper metalheads.
San Diego!! My hometown!!
One of the Gods of Thrash Metal 🤘🤘
Lombardo never ceases to amaze
If you come out of a slayer pit with all of your belongings and no blood , you did it wrong 😂😂
One of the most revered bands today after 30 years
You went to Jilly's??? I used to be there every night in the early 1990's.
Feel better, Ashleigh! Peace, love, burgers, and teddy bears...
I went to there last us date in Tampa... we wrecked the place.. good friendly violent fun... blood in the front row.
Paul McCartney, Lemmy(Motorhead), Phil Lynott(Thin Linzy), Suzy Quatro & Les Claypool(Primus) to name just a few bass player who are lead vocalists
I was today years old when I found out that this was a "Rick Rubin track" 🤯
Rush lead singer Getty Lee is also the basist and keyboardist. They're a 3 man band that puts off the sound of a 5 man band.
I hope you both feel a lot better very soon.
You have to be ready to lister to this song.. It's not for first timers listening to metal.. You gotta build up to appreciate and understand what they are doing.
Slayer and Biohazard: count me in for the mosh pit 🤘🏻🤘🏻
SLAYEEEERRRR!!! 🤘 you guys have got to react to Jim Breuer’s Slayer Fans bit.
How Tom plays these frantic Bass lines and manages to sing over the top is a mystery to me.
Black Magic from Show No Mercy record
saw them in 80s,90s but best was 199 bank 1 ball park with 70k people and Original Black sabbath were last band, had snot and others.
