This band is one of my favorite all time. Been listening to them since 1987 and saw 'em my first time Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1989. I was a junior in high school. Then saw them in Lubbock, TX in 1993. Slayer headlined the tour " Clash of the Titans" Megadeth, Anthrax, and Alice In Chains.
The Slayer we all know. The original lineup Araya, King, Hanneman and Lombardo (double bass master)
Seen Slayer in '85, '86, '88, '90, '91 three times, '94 twice, 2008, 2010, 2015, 2018, they never disappoint.
I started seeing them in '88, only cause of my age and my mom would not let me go to a concert until then, but I can see that you are a huge fan like me and wish that they wouldn't have retired yet. But I love SLAYER so much, that I have their logo tattooed ony right arm....damn I miss FUCKING SLAYER!!!!!!
My first was in Cash of the Titans.

There's metal.. and there's Slayer.. they're their own genre. Still so epic and legendary.
Lol, and this is arguably the most "tame" live version of this out there. But, it still separates your face from your skull. And, you can really hear the Punk flavor in this, and why most Thrash/Speed Metal bands were/are into Punk Rock. But, DAMN I miss this stuff in American Metal...it's all over the place nowadays.
I saw slayer first time in'85 , the hell awaits tour. I was never the same again after the show. Saw them 5 times and they are the best. No 1
I would guarantee every speaker is on. I've seen them live and the sound hits you. You can feel it in your bones.

I was at this concert. Ive never heard sound like it. After seing the Marshall stacks I prepared myself for death. Satan was rumbling in the depths of hell that day.

Dave Lombardo may not be the best drummer all time but IMO he is most definitely the best drummer alive currently. I can't think of anyone who can play better than him currently
The reference to Back to the Future when Marty was in front of the huge speaker and was blown back! Epic stuff ! And yes that's exactly what you experience at a Slayer concert! And Dave Lombardo is absolutely the fastest double bass player ever! And he was doing it back in the early 80s.. Paved the road for the future of the metal drummers!
If they switched all those Marshall cabs on, all the lights in every town in 100 mile radius would go out.

Seen this band twice in '04 and '06 and the second time was the closest I got to dying at a concert. You had to be in shape or battle-hardened when you went to a Slayer gig, their fans are brutal. No safe place, mosh pits forming everywhere. And of course, the band killed it both times. Slipknot could not follow them in '04, the crowd was totally exhausted!

Last show of theirs I saw in that breakdown, grooving riff part me and like 5 people I didn't even know all put our arms around each other and forget headbanged we full body banged in time to the music.

I remember when I bought the Slayer, Reign in Blood tape in like 88 or something as a young metelhead teenager and the salesman needed to confirm I actually wanted that and wasn't making a mistake or something.

That's definitely right, you have to have stamina and endurance in slayer's mosh pit, I went and saw them in Seattle at quest field and I was in the mosh the entire time, there isn't a safe place anywhere and it's a virtual war zone, I'm so glad I was sober but two of my friends weren't and my one friend immediately got just smashed and my other friend hung for alittle bit then had to get out of there, I survived the pit and it was gigantic, I'm talking atleast a thousand or more. I was right below the stacks hanging from the ceiling and could feel the power rumbling off the floor.

You need to watch the Dave Lombardo drum cam from the Big 4 show at Yankee stadium. War Ensemble is my personal fav.

You really need to check out Aquiles Priester. The old Angra drummer. You should check out either temple of hate or angles and demons. He was a professional soccer player from Brazil before he picked up drumming. His kick pedals are a blur when he gets going. Look him up by name, he has a bunch of vids of just him playing.

3:35 Travis thinks all the Cabs in the Marshall wall are on Haha. If you look Kerry King only have two micked up cabs. The same with Megadeth's wall of cabs, Kiko reveld that he as well as Dave only uses two cabs and that the rest are empty or one or two for the bass.

As far as the cabinets, the bottom row are the only active ones, the top two rows are dummy cabs. For two reasons, one, the sound is not only being pumped directly to the audience but it also keeps the output away from the performers. Almost no live band will purposely have a row of active cabs inline with their heads... The reason for that, it would cancel out their monitors, which is what they are paying attention to
