+igeekone I still wished the interior could be a lil more quieter. like a luxury sedan. I have a chrysler pacifica as well as a prius and i cant even hear my pacificas motor running.
lol I own a prius. I have the first gen. and the things just wont die. it def makes motor noise and road noise. the motor noise is much lower than other 4 cylinder sedans in its class. but its there. I think if you take off the panels and put in a lot of sound deadening material it would be a perfect car.
I seriously don't understand why petrolheads hate on the Prius so much!? I am a petrolhead myself (I am personally a big fan of European Hot Hatches, American Muscle Cars, Supercars and the like) and I actually quite like the Prius. It's a decent family cruiser that is easily capable of 50+MPG, has great NVH and is practical. It wasn't built to be fast, fun or exciting in any way, but I certainly don't find it to be as boring as everybody appears to make out for it to be.
It's ugly, this generation that is. I actually found the previous gen to look nice and almost a bit sporty. The Camry hybrid, new RAV4 hybrid, Highlander hybrid, and Corolla hybrid are all perfect, practical examples that you don't need to sacrifice design for efficiency.
Love this car already, its very quiet under normal driving conditions and more than fast enough. Toyota is so far ahead of its rivals with the hybrid system. Way better than a VW clean "dieselgate"
go drive a VW diesel and you might understand. power, handling, a quiet well appointed interior. and still 50mpg. with a 700 mile range per tank. I would personally take a Prius because of the reliability factor over VW. but if you discount that, and just go by the driving experience VW wins hands down. what VW did was terrible. but honestly out NOX requirements are stupid low. well beyond what is needed for healthy air. still no exuse for VW.
+Conner Hendrick yeah, I did... that's why I mentioned NoX pollution. it's not a big deal. blame our government for having stupidly low requirements.. well below what it need to be for public health. all that said... VW Cheated. and needs to pay some price for that. but as I said... when you compare just the driving experience the TDI wins hands down... 50MPG, 700 mile range, quiet interior, Power and handling. and again as I said. I would take a Prius or a Ford Fiesta SFE, or a Sonata Hybrid over the VW... ANY VW just because of the reliability issues.
You don't even need a sports car to drive too fast for public roads anymore. Most cars, like the new Prius, are more than enough for everyday driving and fun on a nice road. Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, etc all have capability most drivers will never use on the street (or should).
I don't get why people hate how the Prius looks. Personally I love it. The form of the exterior looks weird to me though, but I love the head lights and tail lights and I love how the dashboard looks spaceshippy
I like that car. It attracs attention, that's why it has such a special design. If you drive such a car, you don't have to like the design, but you think that you do something for your enviroment and for your future. By the way, it's funny to shock grandmas during parking, because the car is very quiet! :D And if you want to accelerate with 100%, you need to push the Power-Button! ;)
AnimieBahn Entertainment buy a diesel, the exhaust particles are heavy therefore they fall to the ground not causing pollution. To get the materials to make these crappy hybrids (lithium if I'm correct) they need to mine waaaay more and also to make the batteries creates a lot of pollution. Just sayin
Stuff stuff and More stuff What do you think how much mining is necessary to create a diesel engine?! And the emissions of a diesel engine aren't just some heavy pollutions falling to the ground. There are also fine pollutions that you could breath and poisonous gases coming out, like oxides of nitrogen. Cars with an Otto Engine are also bad, but cleaner than diesel. Diesel is worst. Don't buy a diesel.
The posture of Prius is stable in canyon road, and suppressed one can confirm the understeering. A handling looks sporty by benefit of Low center of gravity.
Interesting that they borrowed the white plastic interior materials from the first Chevy Volt. They liked it, I reckon. Never seen a gear shift in that position before. Appreciate the helmet cam, so I can see how the center-mounted gauges work. With the HUD, its not bad at all. They added HUD because they knew center-mounted gauges would turn off many.
Bill Dingo It's cost-cutting. The car does have a ton of tech and value for $25k. Dollars to build it are going to have to be saved somewhere to keep the price down. The way it is canted to the driver isn't so bad....
Roogarooga Whithan This uses the newest most advanced Toyota modular construction platform, the newest, lightest high-tensile steel, the newest hybrid motor and lithium battery system, the probably leads the entire car industry in aerodynamics, runs its entire system without belts or chains, and offers every high tech driving aid doo-dad the $100k Mercedes S-Class offers
Shopping to replace our trouble-free '06 Prius. Narrowed down to '16 Acura ILX or '16 Prius. Test drove the ILX yesterday and waiting to drive a Prius.
I think my headphones are broken, I keep putting the volume up, but still can't hear the video, watched the video in mute... not like I would have heard the engine...
Few things I want to know about 2016 Prius Two: How to adjust the height the trunk opening How to setup the messages over iPhone How to turn off the backup/reverse sound alert How to setup with any temperature and preference for AUTO temp
I own a 2015 Prius. I like the 2016, but I'd miss the Star trek design. Also the air vents look very retro, almost Ford-like, a bit weird, and I'm not sure if it flows as well as the 2015 which btw has 6 more HP for a loss of 2mpg more. The stick is designed more for someone with longer arms, I'm short at 5'6", and also I'm not digging the single glove compartment, I liked the dual design in the 2015, you can put glasses, etc in there. The lower tray I just throw keys, etc.But the 2016 Wheel seems better, and the screen is further away from the sun so there's little glare. Mixed feelings, kinda like the white but would be interested to see if it's a metal-like gloss white or if it's more of a funky white plastic feel.Anyway, very aggressive on driving on Route 2, but I imagine the guy is a professional driver, just a bit scary lol.
Last gen much more stylish imo That one difficult to accept it design won't be for any taste, Toyota went wrong with this design however might be just the beginning of how actually will look all cars in near future Looks like alien that comes from another world or traveled back in time
Ive owned this car for a while now and I believe the lane departure system is very weak, like, it does not really move your steering wheel much at all.
from 5:56 to 8:00 it sounds like the engine is constantly accelerating to high rpm and deccelerating. Gives a very unpleasant feeling about the car... Or is it a normal thing on automatic hybrid vehicles ? Because it REALLY sounds weird to me and consumption must be critical if auto gearbox allows such "up and downs" on rpm, feels like the driver is clutching all the time (I never tried automated gearbox... So I have no clue on what's "normal" with that kind of gearbox)
It's stopping my dad from buying one. We've had the previous generation and we love it for its comfort and economy. We really want to upgrade but the looks and the comments on the looks of the new one just make it a bad choice. We don't want to get criticized all the time.
The new Prius seems sturdier, quieter, more stable and natural to drive tan the actual. But feels slower from 60 mph to above tan the last Prius and the panel has A LOT of reflections. Piano plastics never in a car.
It sounds like it is very quiet inside or is this only the good quality of cam micro? What about the lane assist? In the video it seems to be not working properly?
In my opinion the hybrid cars(Toyota) and the electric cars(Tesla) are the future.Toyota is doing a great job when it comes to this type of technology but they still have to work a bit on the design part.
I was looking for a high mileage car...and thought Prius first like everybody else. Then I discovered the Chevy Volt. My new Volt cost $22,195 after Federal and Ca. State tax rebates and credits ($9,000 off). After driving more than 45,000 miles in less than two years, my lifetime mpg average is 98.4 mpg. I charge for free basically since I switched to the electric car rate with my electric car company. The Volt is wicked off the line and will destroy most cars 0-40, especially a Prius. My Volt has no range anxiety like a Leaf or Tesla, since it has a gas generator for unlimited range driving. If I was to drive within its 40-50 mile charge range daily I would literally get 4,000 + mpg. Can a Prius get 98.4 mpg, or get 4,000+ mpg? The Volt is like a sports car on the road with 279 lbs of torque at 0 rpm. It really is a fast car. It handles better than a Prius too. Try the Volt, go to the websites, feel the passion Volt drivers have. PRIUS IS OLD TECH. Don't be a sucker.
+hybridman The 2016 Volt gets 53 miles per charge before the gas generator turns on. If you were only to drive 53 miles to work, charge at work, and return home for 365 days your mileage would be 4,836 mikes per gallon. (53x2x365/8 gallons of gas =4,836). The Volt automatically will burn one tank of gas, 8 gallons, per year to keep the gas fresh. I know facts are hard for you to deal with. You run on emotion, and poor language skills, and that is why people read your dribble and think your ignorant.
+hybridman I feel like you are still on the fence and I could convince you to drop the low mpg Prius for the Volt (my Lifetime mpg is104 and climbing). Remember, you never have to plug in a Volt if you don't want to. It will get 40 mpg on gas alone. The beauty of the Volt is you tell it what to do while driving by selecting a button that will: rapidly charge the battery as you drive, or you can select gas only, or battery only, or Sport which makes the Volt into a badass torque monster off the line or at any speed. Seriously, I have to stop driving in Sport. Prius, and most cars, that dare to take on the Volt's 279 lbs of torque, at zero RPM, learn quickly how fast the Volt is. The 2016 Volt is even faster, seats 5, and has a better battery and fuel economy than my 2014 Volt. Oh, and it costs less. Sold???
+hybridman I work in downtown LA too. I started charging at work recently ....for free! Last month Onstar reported to me by email that I got 231 mpg after driving 1936 miles. I drive like a bat out of hell most of the time. I'm sure it could have got 300 mpg if I would keep it out of Sport mode. As I have said, my New 2014 Volt cost $22,195 after $9,000 in rebates and tax credits. So cheap for a fast, sporty car that can easily get 231 mpg. Prius was good when it first came out, but they have hardly made it better. Volt on the other hand improved by going from 38 miles per charge to 53 miles per charge, reduced its overall weight by 200 lbs, made it about a second faster 0-60, and added a fifth seat. Toyota will not make improvements until Prius shoppers demand it. If you test drive a Volt, you will see what I'm talking about.
+Filippo Motta Yah, I am, but if you blinked you missed the first generation Prius Plug-in. The Prius plug-in got 11 miles range for its first generation, but rightfully so nobody bought it because 11 miles is pathetic. They stopped making them after only two years and now they have come out with a 22 mile range Prius. PATHETIC STILE TOYOTA! The 2017 Volt gets 53 mile range (expect 65+ during in "L") and dominates in every category. I'm counting the seconds until they pull the plug on this wanna be like a Volt, but so can't compete. I now have 53,000 miles on my 2014 Volt and have a lifetime mpg of 120 mpg. Last month I drove 1667 miles and used 2.5 gallons of gas in my Chevy Volt. Do the math, but I think that's over 660 mpg in a Chevy Volt. That's 10 times the mileage of the chick repellent Prius. Never catch yourself single in a Prius, Flippo, because you may be single for a very long time. Buy a Volt and see how it totally rules this pathetic 22 mile range Prius.
The Prius driving down the freeway is pointless, if the camera does not give us a close-up of the gages. What is the MPG, during that ride? What is the instantaneous MGP gage telling us? This, and more, is the information of interest, for people considering a 2016 Prius.
I'd like the last model Prius without the electric motor or batteries, please. That would yield -500 pounds and with the right gearing would yield 65 mpg on the freeway and a car that would cost $6000 less...
Why is that? Take the existing Prius, minus the batteries and electric motor and computers and you have a car that is 500 pounds LESS. On the freeway, you don't use the batteries anyway. With slightly different gearing and weight savings, you can get 65 mpg AND will cost you $6000 LESS to buy... You should NEVER buy a hybrid car anyway, you should only LEASE the most popular model and simply give it back when you are done...
I have a 1997 Lexus ES I bought new. It now has 283,000 miles on it. The only things I have changed are the usual components. Batteries, brakes, 2 water pumps, radiator, fluids, air filters. Simple things. The only thing I EVER had done by a mechanic was head gaskets. Everything else is factory. Let me give you a few examples of how we are all being screwed. In the USA, we only have 3 Accord engines A 2.4 liter 4 cylinder, 3.0 liter V-6 and the 2 liter hybrid. The two liter ONLY comes in the Hybrid model even though that engine obtains the BEST freeway mileage of all the engines. Ar freeway seeds, the 500 pounds of additional weight of the hybrid system is simply carried around as baggage. Even with ALL that extra weight, this 2 liter engine with CVT gets on average around 49 mpg. I don't need the Hybrid system, just give me the 2 liter engine and let me buy the car for $22,000. The hybrid is $30,000...
I have the 07 Prius, and boy this is loads better than that, but Im honestly not buying another prius again. Other than the reliability and the gas savings, its very underpowered, sometimes dangerous in high winds and on higher speeds, sounds terrible in the cabin, and very bad shocks. I did go from Florida to New York and back in $120 dollars though...
+zany101 The driving manners, the sounds making their way through the cabin, the underpowered engine and the CVT whine are a big turn off for me. I do understand 100% the need to use less gas and reduce the CO2 but this is not going to make it. Maybe the Volt or upcoming the small size Telsa.
I actually like this Prius. It sound far better than before, quieter and better built.
+igeekone gtfo prius shill
+igeekone I still wished the interior could be a lil more quieter. like a luxury sedan. I have a chrysler pacifica as well as a prius and i cant even hear my pacificas motor running.

e and effort from deep inside the penalty area misses to do is to get the most out of your time and effort from deep inside the penalty
I think this is the most spectacular car ever made !
Good one!
MrCarGuy20 your name says it all
I like it.... Something out of the ordinary and looks like it's going to live up to the hype about being fun to drive. Can't wait to try one out....
You should start driving more regular cars on the canyon road not just performance cars

@Wesson Briggs you hacked her and invaded her privacy.. i’m calling the police.
That's not a performance car though
THANK YOU for this fantastic Video ! NO superfluous Comments, NO stupid and loud Music. THANK YOU verry much !!!
I think this is way better looking than last gen. Not saying good looking just better.
I agree It looks better than the last gen but it's still ugly
i agree
i agree
+Nathan Kelley looks more aggressive I think
yhijkoo

+Conner Hendrick
yeah, I did... that's why I mentioned NoX pollution.
it's not a big deal. blame our government for having stupidly low requirements..

+kens97sto171 yes, I see what you mean and I agree
This guy just drives it fast... It wasn't necessarily designed to be fast tho
You don't even need a sports car to drive too fast for public roads anymore. Most cars, like the new Prius, are more than enough for everyday driving and fun on a nice road. Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, etc all have capability most drivers will never use on the street (or should).
Now that's what I call a test drive. Reminds me of driving the Oregon roads where I lived for 20 years.
At least it still looks better then the Nissan Juke
more like , Nissan Puke
haha you know what i mean
+Harris Anwar I might get shot for saying this, but I actually like the look of the juke.
+xBlackRaiderx You're kidding right?
Harris Anwar Nope
***** run from the damn thing while you still can
I don't get why people hate how the Prius looks. Personally I love it. The form of the exterior looks weird to me though, but I love the head lights and tail lights and I love how the dashboard looks spaceshippy
i think the back looks good. also didn't expect a hud in a prius. nice. lane departure is also nice
didn't know that. thank you
Great video just showing car from viewers perspective. Not all that unnecessary talking.
This car is amazing.
I like that car. It attracs attention, that's why it has such a special design. If you drive such a car, you don't have to like the design, but you think that you do something for your enviroment and for your future. By the way, it's funny to shock grandmas during parking, because the car is very quiet! :D
And if you want to accelerate with 100%, you need to push the Power-Button! ;)

It's actually pretty quick looking lol more than I expected. Probably faster than other compact cars
The posture of Prius is stable in canyon road, and suppressed one can confirm the understeering.
A handling looks sporty by benefit of Low center of gravity.
Surprisingly good how it stacks up to him driving it as if it's a GT86.
I like the head up display. Thats it.
That engine sounds so revved...always at red line and starts and stops at every corner. Awsome car :D
I think this is due to how it is driven. If you put it in ECO instead of PWR mode the engine will not be as eager.

Nice mountain drive! Car seemed not to mind too much, but not sure about your passenger!
It is hanging on pretty well through that corners
He drives just like my mom. Going 60mph around a corner.
+Stephen Shirey your mom sounds cool AF
+lovin f30 Thanks I really appreciate that
In a Prius?
James My Mom goes 100 so... yeah lolz
Even viewed from the Japanese, this face is strange. However, the significance of this video in a different part. Sorry in terrible English.
Rear air output lacked think this version of 2016 should come.
Why do you guys click on the video then if all you're gonna complain about is that he drove a Prius? It's not all about sports cars you know.
+Doodlemonoply Who ever said that we were complaining? It's called discrimination. Crack open the googles and look it up.
Last gen much more stylish imo
That one difficult to accept it design won't be for any taste, Toyota went wrong with this design however might be just the beginning of how actually will look all cars in near future

the got that frs aggressive front look they used
Why does the handling feel heavier on my 2017 Prius when I’ve driver others and it’s light?
Very nice car
Hi, great video.
I'd like to know which camera have you used for de POV part. The stabilization is great!
Thank you
Every Prius video i go to people say it's ugly. smh.
Take a hint then

it is.
now Toyota added a body kit and a fake sense of sporty.
they literally made Homer Simpson design this
+mitchell van eldik Take a look at the new RAV4 Hybrid. Just bought and it looks interieur and ex much better then the Prius ;D
And the Pontiac Aztec took such a beating...
At what speeds does it stay in electric mode for
4.8l v8 twin turbo RIGHT ? or a toothbrush auto motor

why do they put the instruments in the middle of the dashboard?
Why does the rear look more aggressive than the front?
what watch model is that, im wondering for like 2 months already...

Wait is it mph or kmh on the speedo
Where do you charge this thing at?

This, and more, is the information of interest, for people considering a 2016 Prius.
i actually like the priud
good car
no fog light?
awesomw drive
You dont really need heads display when speedo is to close,
Nice car..
That typical loud engine sound is still there.

hi wait u forget what u did like in the other videos, can u please do like a night drive and do what u do in your other video
I did go from Florida to New York and back in $120 dollars though...
bit what you have is 07... not the new Prius....so I guess the new one is better
+zany101 Consider a test drive in the 3rd Generation or up, I think you might change your mind.
And horrible in deep snow.My 2014 fish tails like crazy
Be careful who you call ugly in-- oh shit never mind you were right
Wish the interior looked better, especially all the instrument panels. It's the worst.
+Hoggdoc its available in black as well
looks kind of like the Mirai
it looks like if Homer Simpson designed it.
Could you do 1997 toyte van
i hate the exterior but i love the interior
What's the obsession with people saying that Homer Simpson designed this car? Is there a video? 😒
why is the speedometer in the middle it looks stupid
