Thank you for this excellent video. I used to be able to click the HOME button on my Roku remote and it would open Roku's home screen. But, recently, my Sony XJ90 started opening to the Sony home screen, even when I was turning it on using that same Roku home button. Yes they are. That would annoy me, as when I turn the TV on I want it to goto the last input I was watching.

I have the X90J as well! Did you ever get your T.V professional calibrated? There are soo many options to change my head is about to spin ughhh. I want nice crisp picture for my direct tv stream service but, it's just not coming thru like it does for HBO MAX and NetFlix, etc... How do I make it so all channels look crisp and clear like a 4k should?
Your picture is so clear when I watch netdlux and other apps my picture looks like a TV from the 80s
If your pictures is fuzzy, or out of focus, generally this means your internet speed is to slow or there are internet problems. Sometimes fuzzy and out of focus pictures pop back in focus after a time period. Generally those internet speeds have been 10 or 15MBS or less download.

Had to figure this out for a relative. It was driving them (and me) nuts. Not so much a problem for me but for them, an elderly person, it was a huge chore.
I have the KD55X750H/A 55" model and it is a glitchy POS. I dont know if its the tv or the installed apps but it does odd things. Example. RUclips TV will be on and then randomly closes and goes back to the Sony home screen.

Does the stand have a narrow mode for 55" and 65"? Because according to a sony video(First Look: Sony X90J by sony europe), it can be adjusted for both narrow and wide. Can you confirm this?
Yes, For the European version of the 55, 65 & 75" X90J set, the TV offers a narrow version for adjusting the feet. This narrow version is not available on the American X90J model.

Can you tell me please how to turn on my screensaver settings? It’s driving me insane! I want to be able to tell the TV to start wallpaper when I want after X amount of time.
My X 90j keeps going to screensaver mode after like a few hours if I fall asleep in front of the TV and then when I wake up it's like just pictures of different places around the earth and I have to go back and move my remote to get it to go back to what I was already watching. But I don't have a screensaver button to be able to turn it off. How do I fix this?
My parents got a Sony Bravia about 2 months ago. I notice it was doing the exact same thing in your vudeo. I ask my parents to call Cox because they require a small black cable box to be installed on the tv. Yesterday Friday, a Cox technician came and set everything so that all functions work on the Cox remote. Everything works fine except the TV keeps going back to the home screen after we turn it on. I will try this today when I am at my parents house.

That option is not available on Sony x900h . Everyone says to sign out of Google. Is there any other way around this?
Please help me to calibrate the television image because only in HDMI it looks at 120hz, it looks good, but I go to RUclips or another application and it looks blurry.
Especially if you are streaming 4K on apps, if it looks blurry to start and then soon after suddenly kicks in focus, this is your internet speed and buffering. Reset your router or get a faster internet speed.

Hi there in my X80k earlier when i use to tap the TV button it opened the hdmi 4 where the setupbox is connected ,but now (after the software update) whenever i tap the TV button in my remote Google tv opens up ,please help me fix it.
1. Press the gear button on the sony remote
2. arrow to the left to select settings
3. you should see the main input and channels and inputs selected
4. arrow to the right to select channels and inputs
5. scroll down to TV button shortcut, then arrow to the right to select your inputs
6. select the input you want associated with the TV button.

This is called ambient mode, and will come on after inactivity. You can start this manually by going to settings, system, ambient mode, start now.

I did as you said but when I turn the power button off the cable stays on. Should it not turn off?
You can turn it off manually if you want, but the TV is not set or made to turn off the cable box, when it shuts off.
I want to buy a 55 inch sony 4k led tv. I am not a gamer. My room is semi bright. Just movies, sports and tv shows. Confused between two models
1) sony x950g
2) sony x90j
I don't want to buy oled because of burn in. Hdmi 2.1 is not important for me.

The 950G was a better model at the time than the 90J, but it was a 2019 model. The 90J is a 2021 model. So it is really your choice. The 90J has the new cognitive processor for better image. Either model should be fine.

2019, 2021 is not important to me. Image quality is very important to me. You used two TVs. Which do you think is the best? Which would you put forward for picture quality?
@@arpanroy9048 The only way to know that is to have both sets side by side and look at the picture. Both sets have a full array panel. One was a 2019 model, which I don't remember the picture enough. The 90J uses a newer video processing IC, but may not have as good of local dimming. So again without having the sets side by side I can't totally say which one. Either set would do a good job for your purposes.
X90j will be better because better contrast better for dark room and xr processor for better upscaling iirc 950 is brighter and better angles

I would suggest, factory reset on your TV. Set everything up again, if it still happens, call Sony.

That is not common, I would suggest doing a factory data reset. Then set the TV up again from the start. If it still continues contact Sony.
Happens to my tv also. After I turned everything off it'll come back on right after a few seconds
Is the screen plasticky soft or hard like??
It is an LCD screen with LED backlight. If something hits it with decent force it can crack the screen.

Anybody had problems x90j sending a burst of noise from the HDMI cable killing any outboard HDMI interfaces even processors
We have not seen that. Check for software update on Sony TV.
My Sony keeps turning on in the middle of the day/night....
I get home from work....and the TV is on.......is that an update? It's only happened 3-4 times over the last year....but makes me feel like someone has been in my house all day......annoying.

Why?
Could be HDMI CEC issue. unplug cable box and TV from power, wait 5 minutes and plug back in. If still present factory reset TV, If still present replace cable box, after that contact tv manufacturer for support.

How do I stop my screen saver from coming up every 5 mins?
having the same issue like i’m using the bluetooth function to play songs and every couple mins it goes into screen saver displaying pictures and lowers the volume and i have to press a button on the remote every time it happens so it exits screen saver

Just opened my new Sony X90J and it turns off and blinks 4 red lights! Any thoughts
I would unplug the power cord, then plug it back in. If the set still shuts down and blinks red, it has a problem and needs to be returned and exchanged.
I tried this, my TV still goes onto the home screen 😂 bloody thing
