How do you remove the stuff at the very top (in your case, the area where they were promoting Borat). I want our kids to be able to use the TV, but stupid horror and grotesque movies show up (like borat or Friday the 13th). Absolutely ridiculous. No way my kids could use this.
if you go to settings then Accounts-content preferences, you can choose which content is show based on your preferences. In your case i would only choose kid friendly films.
Ironically, all I want to do is block suggestions from channels for which I don't use, to which I don't subscribe, or rent/buy content. It's soooo frustrating.

Is there any way to customize the Home screen in a less all-or-nothing way? Mainly, I want to always have our HDMI 1/XBOX input quickly available without having to hit the gear icon. "Apps only" mode looks like crap mainly because it looks super barren and says "apps only mode" at the bottom but the regular mode is inundated with Google recommendations no matter how you filter it. Wish there was a happy medium to make it look nice. External launchers don't work either.
AndroidTV 10 for me is more organized and less bloated it still has some Google TV features but not as much...I recently got a tv with Google TV already built in and it's just too many suggestions and not well organized....but I'll try this out.
Ordered one of these on 7th October from Google store was quoted delivery date of 4th November , in the meantime have got an android TV so have cancelled the chromecast , will stick with android tv and Mecool tv box.
Pretty insidious design by Sony. Things like Disney, prime video and google play movies. And you can’t customise streaming services you like including Netflix. And there is a manage services button where you can manage YOUR streaming services. But you can’t delete or add your own. And the home page get filled with other crap instead.

@@FreeTech to be honest I have attached a usb c hub with an ethernet port an 16gb stick and a air mouse. But it's connected to a 45w Samsung power supply. So it should be OK. As it is selective power based on what's needed.

When I cast my phone to the Chromecast Google TV I get all the Great Sound I want. But when I play the show from the actual Google TV I get PCM only. I tried every setting every idea I looked up for the forums nothing is out there and please somebody pray to God somebody needs this message and can help me out. I would like to know this as well. I got al kind of Disney+ conent and don’t even have a Disney+ account. Google knows this also…

Factory reset most likely. Then don't load up GoogleTV during setup again.

If you like the Firestick interface, stick with it. Chromecast is no upgrade in terms of performance in my opinion.

No it can't unfortunately. The only option would be to add a custom launcher.

Been getting the same issue with lagging and freezing too. Usually the worst on boot as all background apps are being loaded also.

@@mariusuta89 it's not really down to power how fast a device loads up and performs. That's more to do with Ram and how many processes are running etc
