- This video shows you how to manage your Sony TV Video Inputs. This explains making sure your video inputs are "Shown or Hidden", and also labeled for your appropriate devices. When your TV external inputs are hidden then they will not appear in your input menu, and you will not be able to select them. If your inputs are in Show (auto disable), then your inputs will only appear in the input menu when external devices are connected to those inputs.
I lost my HDMI1 input, and you found it for me by just unplugging my Sony! Thank you and others who post easy fixes for almost anything on RUclips.

Hey! I have kind of weird question
When you are watching TV channels on that TV as Fox or something, what is frame rate of those channels? I mean, does that TV say 1080i/29.97Hz or 1080i/30Hz on the input banner? Or what does the TV say about those channels?
I don't have that TV here anymore, but on the A90J OLED when you press display on a channel (offair) it will show resolution, aspect ratio, sound type, source, rating, wide mode. It does not show what the frame rate is.

somebody please help me....my sony bravia tv video 2 input is not working, i mean when we want to watch a movie and choose video 2 input it doesn't show any images only black. but the sound or audio is good/working.... can u please help me to know what is the problem and how to fix it. TIA.
Since your hearing audio from your DVD, information is probably getting to the tv.
1. Replace your cable from the DVD to tv.
2. Switch to a different input, or load an app in the tv. If the different input or app also has no video but sound, then your tv has a problem. Call Sony for tech help. If you have video and audio on different inputs, it is either the cable from your DVD player, or the player.
3. Unplug all units from electricity for 5 minutes or more. Find the power cords and unplug from power, don't just turn them off. Plug all units back in and test.
When I go to settings on my Sony smart tv, it doesn’t have external inputs as an option. There is only picture, sound, screen, channel, parental lock, setup and eco. Please help me I am trying to enable the TV input so I can display my gaming system but it is grayed out
Do you see any inputs that you can goto when you just hit the input button on your remote and you are not in the TV menu? The TV input is just a tuner input (coax cable), so unless your gaming system is really old, you would not want that input for gaming systems. Gaming systems would require HDMI more than likely. So you should probably be using an HDMI cable for that, and connect it to a specific HDMI input on your TV. If your TV updated to the latest android you may see "watching TV" in your settings menu. Click that, and then go down to "external inputs"
If you have items connected to the HDMI inputs and you can't access those or do not see external inputs as an option, then I suggest doing a factory reset on the TV. Click settings, then goto storage and reset, then select factory data reset. If you do this know that you will lose your sign in credentials to your apps, and any other accounts you entered in the TV. If these items do not work, contact Sony at 1-800-222-7669
How to make a HDMI port as default input...so that, I get the input as soon as I turn ON the TV..
I cant speak for models that are not in the USA. But USA models generally will turn on in the input you turned the set off on.
I only have you tube TV now, and it was working fine. I disconnected all my dish equipment from the TV and so now when i press the YTTV app to turn on. I get a black screen then i have to play with it to get it to work. I only have HDMI 2 being used for the blue Ray. No other HDMI cords being used. Can someone help me? It was fine until I unplugged all my DISH chords. Am I using any input sources? 🤷🏾♀️ Sorry for the stupid question.
Try either unplugging TV from power (not just turning it off and on), then plugging back in, or hold green power button down on sony remote until tv either restarts, or shows a message to restart. Choose restart if you get the message. Then try youtube, If problem persists contact Sony
My tv started to glitch and the green light is going on and off and HDMI is changing every time when I play video games
I would suggest unplugging your TV and game system from electricity. Plug them back in after a few minutes. If that does not help contact Sony for further tech assistance.

I'm trying to find out how to delete the message on my X800H that wants me to "setup HDMI input" every darned time I turn on the TV. I only use HDMI 1 and external sources switched through a Denon receiver. When I click on the prompt to "setup HDMI input", it just goes to "no signal" and the wallpaper built in to the TV. I then have to manually select HDMI 1 and I'm back in business. I'd like the message that comes up every time I turn on the TV to go away. Any advice would be appreciate. Thanks!
Interesting, I would try setting it us manually. Go into settings, select channels and inputs, then external inputs. Then select external device setup. Choose the blue highlighted "set up" for HDMI 1. Follow through that and see if it goes away.
@@FisherElectronics Hi - Thank you for replying to me. I've done exactly that. After selecting the blue highlighted set up for HDMI 1, it goes to a built-in "wallpaper" and in the bottom right corner says no signal is detected, even though there is one except it is from my Denon receiver with a TiVo Bolt playing through that input. I'm wondering about connecting the Bolt directly to the TV just one time to see if the TV can see what it wants, then connect back through the receiver. Rather annoying if you ask me. I don't like HDMI CEC and devices thinking they have power over any other ones. I like to control everything manually myself as needed. I'll let you know when I'm in the mood to do this. Thanks!
@@JRobert111111 Yes that would be the next step is to connect the tivo directly to HDMI one and bypass the amp. Verify you get a picture on HDMI 1 before you start any external device setup. If no picture, then change HDMI inputs on TV, or try a different source, like game system, streaming device or DVD.

You should be able to press the input button on the Sony TV remote. Press it more than one time to change inputs.

Hello, I'm not totally sure what your asking. The TV button only takes the TV to a specific input if your model supports the "customize TV button" feature. Otherwise to just change inputs on your TV press the input button on the Sony remote, then use the arrows to scroll to the input you want

@@MprOaaM If you don't see "customize tv key", your TV doesn't have this feature. This is the best I can do for you. Only other things would be to contact Sony
I cant find remote. No signal what external input do I connect red white yellow plugs
Not sure what model you have, but if you don't have those jacks on the tv, then your tv doesn't support older devices. The solution would be find an a/v to hdmi converter so you can use an hdmi input for your older devices.

You need to make sure a device is connected to video 2 and it is turned on. Also try replacing the cable.
How do I take away the HDMI 1 header at the top of the screen
Generally the HDMI header or banner is there when there is no signal. Once a program appears the banner goes away on it's own.
On the older Sony TV's when you hit the display button on the remote it would turn on or off the display banner.
How can I record by using my usb ?
I do not know that. That feature is not available on USA models.
I have a Bravia, as of today my input screen will not come up. I hit the input button on my remote and nothing happens but everything else seems to be working. I tried using the button on the tv to change the input and the input menu screen will not show up there either but the volume button does work on the tv. I replaced the batteries in the remote just to rule that out. What is the deal??
Might be that your inputs are all hidden. Try going into the menu, channel and inputs, external inputs, manage inputs. See if all your inputs are hidden instead of shown.
@@FisherElectronics I tried that, it says show for all. I did a reset multiple times , nothing seems to fix it.

Try replacing the cable from the ps4 to the TV, and verify on the back of the TV what input the ps4 is going into on the TV. After that find your source, or input button on the TV remote and try changing inputs to the ps4.

I accidentally added Pluto to my regular channels on my Sony X90J and now I can't remove the channel setup so now when I push TV on my remote it takes me to Pluto guide guide rather than going going to my playstation 4.. And it's pissing me off because I don't know how to delete Pluto out of my TV because I already have the app I don't want Channels set up in my TV for Pluto
Okay, to change the input your TV button controls do the following:
1) Press the gear button on the Sony TV remote
2) Arrow to the left until you find settings and select it
3) You should see the main TV menu with channels & inputs, then display & sounds below that and so on.
4) Select the first setting of channels & inputs, and scroll to the bottom to select TV button shortcut. There you can select the new TV input you want your TV button control. (probably the HDMI input the PS4 is on).

Try just using the Input, or TV/Video button on your Sony remote to change inputs.

Make sure your cables are connected to that input (video 4), also unplug TV from power and plug back in. Otherwise contact Sony

If the TV shows multiple HDMI inputs, then you need to find which input your devices are connected to and choose that input. For example if you connected your cable box to HDMI 1, then you select HDMI 1
Where is input???
Input would be a button on the remote, either in the middle or top. The button would say "Input" or on older Sony models it used to say "TV/Video". Either way this button did the same thing.
Didn't solve the problem, don't have the remote on me
On my Sony remote control, there is no button that says 'home'
Look for a button that says menu instead.
@@mattreichert7892 Thanks but nothing happens when I press the 'menu' button. The TV is on but no picture only AV3 in the left-hand corner of the tele and a little square box with an arrow pointing to the right and the number 3 outside the box
@@patriciarobson9986 lets not worry about the menu then. To change tv inputs try looking for a button that says input, or tv/video on the sony tv remote. Press this button (repeatedly) to change inputs. If your on video 3, your probably trying to get to an hdmi input for your cable or streaming source.

At aprox 4:05 in your input display it shows "player1 (HDMI 4) BD it did not show that before at 0:23 how did you get that to appear? Mine TV used to show Player1 (HDMI 2) Playstation but now it's gone :(
At :23 it is not seen because that is the input I am in and it is shown in all white on the video. At 4:05 I am in my tuner input and now Player1 HDMI4 can be seen below it. I was in a different TV input at 4:05. Try unplugging both TV and playstation, then plug in and reboot both units, to see if the playstation is listed. That is most likely gone as the TV has lost the HDMI CEC communication with the playstation. Check the TV and playstation to see if HDMI CEC or bravia sync is turned on.
I hate my Sony TV with a seething passion. No matter what I do, it goes out of its way to change its input to something else when I turn it on. Doesn't matter which input I plug my streaming box into, it won't detect it when I power on. Sometimes it's on the correct one when I turn it on but then it changes it. If I put in on the right input manually, very often it will change it back right away all by itself. I don't know why a giant company like Sony can't figure this out. I will never in my life buy another one.
Disconnect all your devices from your TV so that only AC power is connected to the TV. Watch one of the inputs and If it still changes inputs do a factory reset. If it does not you know it is one of your components causing it. After that contact Sony.
