Wow...3yrs after you posted this video and l'm just eating it up!! You are truly blessed with talent and bless us by passing it on. Age and health issues prevent my attempting this, so l guess l'm a ''lurker'', but, you are better than a pain pill!! Thank you Rob!
I am re-watching all your MAN sewing programs Rob. You are fantastic artist and I am very sad that you now have to do all your own camera work. If Jenny made the decision to discontinue your show she made a terrible mistake. Thank you for all your sharing and creativity. You are very inspiring. I was never an “art quilt” person but you have inspired me to try some. Thank you Again.
I just finished this and it turned out really well. It’s the first time I’ve done a big Appliqué and it was not as difficult as I thought. I’m an old scuba diver and am drawn to sea life. Thanks Rob
This is So awesome! I made a San Jose Sharks quilt about 5 or 6 years ago, for my daughter. It was queen size. I made the back all black. I used fleece, it was TOO warm. I did not "quilt" it. So, it was more like a comforter.
I love this quilt!!! My puzzle loving first grader is wanting to make a throw with me, I think I will design her some butterflies to put together. Thanks for the idea! Also since you do a lot of applique work I thought I would pass along a little tip I learned from a MSQC tutorial. If you crease the fusible backing at the edge of your applique it will seperate from the fabric on it's own to give you a grabbing point.
I once did a coral reef quilt with a bottle nose dolphin as the focal point. I stitched a piece of fan coral (coral color) on a wash-away stabilizer as a separate piece and after soaking the stabilizer off, I was able to lay down the fan coral on top to give a 3D effect. Loved your detail on the shark.
Love it. Reminds me snorkeling in Maui a few years ago. Minus the shark of course... We did see a sea 🐢 turtle though. Love your show, it allows us to be created, or just enjoying someone who is creative... And I'm enjoying my coffee....
Thanks again Rob for a great tutorial. How about a collage of an old abandoned car or tractor in a paddock with or without chooks around it. Maybe just wild grasses or old farm implements, wheels etc. I'd love to have a pattern of that. Hope it inspires you to design one.
Awesome quilt! I'd love to see a garden motif made by you as well as a quilt inspired by one of the images from the Hubble space telescope. Can't wait to see your next project!
You are brilliant! I have collected all of your appliqué patterns and will definitely add this to my collection. I think an awesome addition to your pattern library would be a breaching ORCA or whale.
Rob this is fantastic!!! Thank you for all of the lessons too!! My grandson would love this but as a beginner with fusible applique I think I will practice more before trying this one. :-)
Barbara Delarwelle I just purchased the kit yesterday for my oldest grandson for Christmas and honestly I have yet to test the waters with fusible appliqué 😳 and only started quilting or any kind of sewing about a year ago. Guess you can say I dove head first into it and I’m still submerged in its wonder and beauty. I’m a very patient person when it comes to the craft and struggle with “perfection” so I’m pretty confident I can master it. Now I have to find a appliqué with a mermaid for my granddaughter.
Barbara Delarwelle 😁 buy it with the intention of it being a gift for Christmas that way it gives you almost 5 months to complete it. I have faith that we can get it finished in time. Happy sewing 😊
Love watching you create, have always wanted to make a wall hanging of a garden variety, maybe growing up one side of the quilt, love your mandala, but would like this better. (Like a Bob Ross painting with perspective)
I ❤️ how you educate us on quilting. I am not a beginner but learned how to quilt the very old fashioned way of pinning the back to a frame then making "sandwich". Since I just picked it up again but my very loved grandma is not here to help but I am sure is smiling and I feel her chastising me when I make a mistake. I am a novice with the new way of doing these new techniques. I get an idea but my creative side is hard to find. I am wondering if you could come up with a pattern such as this amazing fish quilt that is a baseball field with players for a younger generation? They are hard to find because most quilts are for the older generation or babies. Very little for the age 5 to teen quilts that are as beautiful as this. Thank you for sharing your creative talent. 🤩
Omg this is awesome it would take me ages to do something like this a huge jig saw but in materials, you asked what we would love to see what about dolphins and surfers swimming together
Love it!! My daughter is into owls, could you, would you please do a similar size snowy or barn owl design. Grandson would love a sea turtle, hint hint, too. Just do both or all three! LOL
Deborah Davidson awesome idea. I just bought this kit for my oldest grandson as a Christmas gift. I’m not very good with picking color ways and textures. Even if I do choose and buy coordinating colors I’m never completely satisfied. Thank goodness for pre cuts packs. 🤣
Awesome tutorial! I love the projects you do on your channel. I am extremely interested in knowing how to do a pet portrait with applique. My 14 year old girl boarder collie/ jack Russell/ parson Russell is my life and it would be my dream to make an applique of her!!!🙏😀
How about the volcano that is still erupting in Hawaii. I've been watching a couple of RUclipsrs that live in it's neighborhood. I think you could make a great fall applique quilt with many reds and oranges. You could get the eruption itself or the glow created at fissure 8 with palm trees in the foreground.
Love it Rob, reminds me of your sea life design from Quilting on the beach with Karen and Robert, at Quilt Passions. To much detail for just one tutorial tho. But I know your techniques from Quilting up on the Beach in Kona. For those that do not, they would be lost. It's a lot of detailed work.
This is an incredible, beautiful work just one quick question had you thought about using applique pressing sheet to put together the little pieces like the bottom left corner
I hadn't realized you invented the Shark cutter until I saw it in my new Nancy's Notions catalog. Great tool. Do you just replace them when they get dull? I noticed the price was very reasonable so I thought maybe you replaced them rather than changing the blade. I've never heard of that sized blade so that was another clue. ;-)
My granddaughter wants me to make her a baby shark quilt. This is a huge help. Thanks Rob. You’re awesome

This is fantastic! My brother is a diver and LOVES sharks. Hope mine turns out...it's gonna be his Chirstmas gift this year!
This is, by far, my absolute favorite Man Sewing tutorial. I love all of them but this one just takes the cake!
This is absolutely gorgeous and right on time for shark week 😊.
THIS IS WONDERFUL!!! it has opened my eyes to fun quilting!!!! Thank you!
Fantastic! This is gorgeous and a lot of work but looks like it is worth it! Thank you
I just finished this and it turned out really well.

Thanks Rob
how did you get the pattern pieces?
I’m new at all this. Lots of information. Thank you very much.
Such a great picture. You can almost feel the movement of the shark through the water.

You never cease to amaze me!!!! Beautiful!
WOW... you've outdone yourself again. Stunning... Thank you for all that you do..
Spectacular! A piece of art done in textiles. Thanks for sharing : )

Brenda Stuntz I saw that one too.
Brenda Stuntz www
I also saw that. I hope I can remember it when the time comes.

You have such good ideas. This is beautiful and the colors are so vibrant
Wow Rob, this is stunning.

Wow! You really put a lot of effort into this It's amazing and much appreciated.
Just gorgeous!!!
Something else just came to mind... an Arizona tall cactus. Would go great with skateboards.... my adult son likes both.
Sweet-love this pattern! Thank you so much!
Wanted to make a couple more ideas: Wild Horses running across an open range, Big Horn Sheep on a sheer cliff &/or deer in a forest.
Love the shark! I would love to see a Mako Corvette/shark applique.
Next should be village w/mtns applique would be good too!
That would be gorgeous!!

Looks great! Thank you for the tutorial

Maravilhoso trabalho, Rob!. Parabéns!. Adoro assistir seus vídeos. Obrigado por transmitir seus conhecimentos. NAMASTÊ!.

That is awesome could you ease do another updated video for something similar please

Amazing
Sea turtle would be great.
I am sad the kit is sold out forever. I love sharks and just found your page
How about something with palm trees, beach, ocean shore or island, some very colorful birds.
Great idea!!
Deborah Davidson awesome idea. I just bought this kit for my oldest grandson as a Christmas gift. I’m not very good with picking color ways and textures. Even if I do choose and buy coordinating colors I’m never completely satisfied. Thank goodness for pre cuts packs. 🤣
Que trabalho lindo e detalhado, obrigado por ensinar seus trabalhos
Love it
Isn't it time for another underwater view art quilt?
Maybe a surfer or ship in silhouette ? Moon lit?

We love that you are crazy
Do you ever pre-assemble some elements on a separate Teflon pressing sheet?
Linda Davis ,great idea.
Maravilhoso!!! So precisa de legenda em português pra nós brasileiros 🙏🏼 ♥️
This is an incredible, beautiful work just one quick question had you thought about using applique pressing sheet to put together the little pieces like the bottom left corner

MSQC has blade replacements for Rob's applicutter.
Sew fun!!! ❤️ 🐠
Where cannot I get this quilt pattern?
Beautiful work...
Don't know if you even see the comments on a video you posted 3 years ago, but do you have a similar applique pattern for a sail fish?
Where do you get that share applique from? Im gonna be making my youngest grandson a shark quit.. Thanks for sharing
Where can i get this pattern at? Its beautiful...
Have you created the pattern in a electronic format? I would love to create this.
I ordered this pattern and the tool and have yet to receive it can you tell me what the delay is???
How would one go about making this into a bed (twin) sized quilt?
I would love to have the rotary cutter that you show. Where did you get the pattern of the shark?
Where can we get that rotary tool
Meraviglioso ddall'Italia. Veneto city Padua.
Bianca Maria.
I love your projects.
Dall'Italia
I'm in the uk, is the pattern sent by a download ?
Where do I purchase the shark applicutter ?
Can we buy the rotary cutter in store.
(
How do I get the printable pattern I don’t see it …
How about a turtle one to go with this??
Could you do a turtle version?
Why do you have a skull in the background?
You do Applique quilts. Have you thought about just doing applique stuff? There isn't a lot out there, and I'm finding out I like to applique. JS
I'm also interested on buying the little cutter, can you write the name please?
Thanks
Rosario Chavarria, a exacto knife works great. You can fine them at any craft store.
It's called the Shark Applicutter. So very apt for this!

Looks amazing,
