As great as Michael J Fox was at acting, he was even greater dealing with Parkinson's Disease. Being on top of the World here and then at age 29, being told you have an incurable, debilitating disease like Parkinson's could've crumbled many people. He continued to work and then became a spokesman and a fund raiser. that is where his greatness as a human has shone the most. And he will be forever admired for the way he dealt with success and setbacks.
He may be near the end of his race in some ways, but like any brave man, he's going out like that train at the end of Part III...in a blaze of glory until he plunges off the cliff.
Amina -Z i was little and didn't understand him but now im 13, and im in love with him! Well i guess little me was right, Marty Mcfly will always be my favorite character:3
A lot of people say this but it really is true....this guy was one-of-a-kind....humble, hard working, never enamored with the glamour part of it no matter how famous he got. And he was just HUGE from the mid 80s to early 90s.
M N I'd probably be too shy to talk nor look at him, becoz hes so cute :3 but if i ever go to the orlando FL comic con in 2019, to see Michael then maybe I probably gather up the courage to talk to him, if im able to go of course but with school, thats gonna be a problem
He's such a likeable guy man it makes it even all the more difficult to know he has lived most his life suffering with his disease. Poor guy, he's coped well and still manages to be himself in interviews.
Haha! Michael looks very relieved as he's doing this interview after the screening, as he had to take a massive leak during the movie while sitting next to the Princess. Anyone who's read Fox's book 'Lucky Man' will know what I mean, he described it as "two of the most excrutiating hours of my life". The protocol was to never turn your back to her, or speak to her unless she spoke to you, and Michael was nervous as hell before the screening, so he quickly downed two beers before the flick lol!
I've been a massive fan of MJF since I was 8 y.o. and Back to the future is my favourite movie of-all-time, so thanks so much Rob for sharing this piece of nostalgia.
This was AMAZING to see! To go back to the past like that!! ;-) Never seen this before. BttF is one of my TOP-3 most favorite films of all time! And there’s only very few other celebrities, that I love as much as Michael J. Fox!
I gotta say that I am so fond of the talented actor of Michael J. Fox, and because of his Parkinson's condition, I felt sad for him as well. I also wondered because of his brief time with Muhammad Ali, did Michael J. Fox go to his funeral years ago? I would assume Mr. Fox was there as a guest and I was surprised that he did not give a brief eulogy like Billy Crystal and others, too.
Around the 2:00 minute mark that may be the first time in a interview from 1985 they talk about the Eric Stoltz firing. That story was hushed for many years and didn't get real popular till around 2002 when the trilogy was released. I think in the 80's and 90's with no internet and limited information most fans of the movie knew nothing about it.
In the '80s, they had internet but it was such a small cult following. There was a fair amount of information on Eric's firing in '80s issues of Starlog magazine, and the topic usually came up since then....although sporadically.
He couldn't speak to her , and he knew she would be too polite to speak during his movie and if she did " Excuse me, Your Highness, I have to go wring it " was not going to be the appropriate response lol. I read his book too and he was so funny in his writing about that moment.
+The Alpha Production They showed all 3 movoíes in some German theaters and one visitor even arrived with his DeLorean and was allowed to park in front of it. It was awsome. Also there was a bunch of cosplayer. A great way to celebrate such a day :)
+The Alpha Production Here in Canada "Cineplex" played all 3 movies back to back to back. It was a great experience and for only 20$ it was definitely worth it.
i was 9 or 10 years old and living in London at the time. what i would have given to have known this was happening and to have been there. but ya know, with no internet its one of those things that i guess just slipped by un noticed. what 9 year old kid reads newspapers. it must have been in there at the time. insanely jealous that you got to be there at the time and are right behind Michael. how did you get to go? would love to hear about your experience of the night if only i had a time machine...

I was about to comment about Eric Stoltz. Because I can feel his feeling seeing the movie grossed a lot of money at that time. I was jumping to 1:35, and they already talking about that.
the question they always asked back then was how he managed to do Family Ties and BTTF at the same time......... cos they knew he was using drugs to keep awake. Thats what trigerred his Parkinsonism unfortunately. He will always have a special place in my heart .
3:35 he said oh jeez lol that's great. Rick and Morty is a popular cartoon and Morty always says aw jeez was this a coincidence or did Dan Harmon or Justin Roiland watch this interview before they started the show?
Ironically, there was a quote often circulated in 1985 newspapers where Zemeckis said: "Eric is a fine actor, and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again. (?) There was nothing wrong (?) or bad about his performance. His portrayal simply wasn’t in synch with what I wanted the movie to be."
It's funny because I NEVER thought Anyone could have that kind of affect on a person especially me. I truly thought people were just "star struck", but he has got "it", whatever that is he has got it. Let me start by saying I love love love black men let, but as a young girl he was the first to help me realize he and "Benny the jet Rodriguez" had EVERYTHING to do with sexuality. There confidence in the character written just showed me the 'attraction'of men. Anyway shalom to ALL
@Stefano Pavone well said it is that. An interview I once saw he did he talked about not making excuses for what life has delt you he was referencing to his height, because he's short. But he was consistent once, like you mentioned, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and it started to manifest in him he seemed to carry himself with a certain dignity. So yes you're correct it's those qualities and I think alot of it has to do with accepting our lots in life. We didn't choose our race, sex or even the family we are born in to the most high God did.
He's always had such a youthful, boyish charm.
M hence I said had...
