      It wasn't that much later in life. Maybe 5 years after this interview did he start to exhibit symptoms.

      But the exemplary way he rose to the challenge and dealt with it makes his life an example for everyone. His courage and purity of character is astounding. Probably my favourite public person in the planet, off the top of my head.

      He supposedly picked up a virus on one of his first acting gigs while still living in Vancouver in the late 70s. Including him, about five or six other people who worked on the CBC show "Leo & Me" would eventually get Parkinson's themselves.

    Such a good interviewer. Hes not interrupting, not making silly quips in the middle of the the person talking. Really lets the conversation flow.

    I had such a crush on him when he was in Family Ties and the Back to Future movies. Always comes across as a nice guy🥰😍

    I still remember going to see BTTF with my gf in Feb 1986 for £1 at my local picture house in Ayrshire, Scotland..most amazing film I've ever seen to date..thanks MJF & all!

    I thought he was so cool in Back to the Future. Such a lovely guy. I hope they find a way to stop or cure Parkinsons in time for him to benefit from it.

    Just saw him at Glastonbury with coldplay, i didn't realise he has got that bad. it's so sad to see him this young, full of life at the start of his career. Knowing how he is going to look 39 years later, life is cruel.😢

    To any Americans watching, Wogan was a hugely popular “national treasure” and did lots of great interviews. He was born in Wolverhampton in 1933 but grew up in Newcastle and studied fashion at Liverpool Polytechnic. In later years he was a pilot and liked to spend his free time on canal boats in Holland.
