“A town depicted both in its glorious heyday in the 50s & rundown, decrepit state in 1985 in Back to the Future. Art direction by Todd Hallowell. Set direction by Hal Gausman.” Yes, I know they reused the same set from Gremlins, but it’s still amazing how they turned a town from a 50s setting to a modern 85 setting.

If the Oscar voters noticed the Clock tower ledge was in tacked in 1985 in the beginning of the film, and broken at the end of the film maybe it would have been nominated. Also, Lone Pine Mall and Twin Pines Mall

With the exception of the movies The Color Purple and Witness, everyone of the other three movies would be a great winner.

Did this movie REALLY deserve Best Art Direction over Brazil? It's still my opinion & anyone can disagree with me, but like... come on.
