Molly Stark Sanatorium is a 1929 tuberculosis hospital in north eastern Ohio. At the time the leading treatment for TB was nothing more than sunlight and fresh air; a philosophy that the buildings architecture clearly echoes with its Spanish Revival style four-story facility featuring large windows, porticos, balconies and rooftop verandas surrounded by pastoral settings. During its operation the sickest patients were sent to the top floor and slowly moved down floors as their health improved. Eventually antibiotic treatment for TB was developed and the need for the sanatorium was no more. Thus, in 1956, Molly Stark Sanatorium became Molly Stark Hospital and began admitting non-TB patients. For the next four decades patients numbers would continue to decline and the facilities would continue to age until finally the hospital was forced to close. Later in 2009, the Stark County bought the property and developed a park on it. Thankfully for me, they left the hospital standing pending possible environmental clean-up in the future.
Creating videos is a new endeavor for me, my passion and skills lie primarily in photography: please visit my website (forgottenbeauty.wixsite.com/abandoned) for full albums of photos from these explorations and many more from all over the eastern United States.
I was a patient 30 yrs ago when I was 16.i suffer from ptsd now from the care I received.
What happened?
@@tylercleary2699 Its a long story, but I was admitted by my parents because of a shitty counselors bad advice.i was a handfull at the age of 16,and thought I knew it all.i had alot of probs with my stepdad, and wanted to move out.so,they took me to a counselor to see what they should do.so,next thing I know is I'm on my way to Molly Stark...now,that's the short story leading up to me being admitted.after that I could best describe what happend next, was what nightmares were made of...
@@juggalo4life247mfrs I am sorry to hear that. Mental health and especially teenage mental health still has a long way to go in this country. I'm glad there's more assistance available, but there are still so many kids that fall into the cracks and are misunderstood and don't receive the treatment that works for them. From the few tales I heard about this hospital, it was not just the teenagers but a good portion of the patients that experienced the horrors you only hint at.
@@Knight-of-Sarcasm the sad thing was is,I was a totally normal kid just trying to grow up to early.i understand my parents thought that if a counselor gives advice, then since he's a professional,he's gotta know what he's talking about.so,I try not to hold a grudge towards my parents.atleast they cared enough to try to get me some help.
The worst thing is that I still have the same nightmare that I've had since I left that place.im trapped and I can't get out no matter what I do.no matter where I end up,it's always at that place somewhere in that building.so now my body fights sleep so much that I sleep maybe 1 hr at night.its like I'm a prisoner in my own mind!!
@@juggalo4life247mfrs I wish you peace of the soul and the mind if possible. For the grace of God, my son could easily be you (he's 16 and experiences mental health issues). Hopefully you can get some quiet sleep in time as new ways are discovered to help you.
Urbex Hill explored inside there a few weeks ago, all by himself, and went down in the basement, in the concrete tunnels, and saw what LOOKED like a person walking away from him, but it went toward a dead end. There were no camera cuts, nowhere for someone to run, and get away, nor anywhere for someone to hide. It was just a straightaway, and then a dead end. It was so creepy.
Because it was a person, he escaped through the ceiling hole in the tunnel.
@@tommymoore9443the ceiling hole that doesn’t exist? go down there yourself and get back to me hahahah
@@tommymoore9443You have no idea what you're talking about. I smell a coward. You never would have been able to do or endure what Urbex Hill endured. Once you saw that male apparition, you would have dropped your camera and high tailed out of there. Guaranteed. Chris saw it. Viewers saw it. No ceiling hole. Then Chris pursued the friggin thing all the way down till it dead ended. Nothing.
Wow, I thought they tore this down already.
I used to come here in the mid 2000's
It's a shame how torn up it is now. It used to be a very creepy place, a lot of people would never go back to visit after. I'm not sure what all bad happened here to cause it.
It got sealed up and for a long time cops were always watching it and charging people for trespassing lol
Do they still?
I dropped my brass zippy lighter in the bottom entrance where you first tough about going in. So Many times exploring that place. Brings back good memories thank you
At 7:06 Whats under the sheet on the bed???
From what I understood (I used to live in Louisville) Stark Parks was taking the whole property and planned on razing the hospital. I wish we knew what Stark Parks planned on doing with the structure, although there is a park there.
There is a park now has visiting hours on the grounds just not allowed inside
I definitely want to sneak inside for a peek
Great video of what it looks like inside. Smashed the 👍and hit the 🛎
Thanks for the support!
Interesting. I live almost within walking distance of this place but have never been on the property.
With my luck, I would be the one arrested for trespassing and they would "make an example" out of me.
I just went here the other day. And this video was very helpful lol. I live about an hour away from here and I was worried I wasn’t going to be able to get in but when I saw that it was so easy and that there were even other people I was like fuck yeah. And it was awesome. I went on every balcony the only place I didn’t go was the bottom floor and below. 😬😟
I went in the moarge
I heard there’s cameras there and they press charges against trespassers. Is that true?
@@NatimusProductions the cameras are old from when the hospital was still in use, but if you go you should be wearing enough clothes to be unidentifiable because you dont want to expose your skin to anything in there if you can help it.
i was there as a child....
What were you there for?
@@karenhoschar4481 i smoked marijuana so they locked me up like and animal....
@@robertcameron3193 Oh wow. :( And now it can be obtained medically.
I'm taking a trip to Ohio this month. Should I give this place a visit?
Definitely worth it in my opinion. Just know that it may be more sealed up at this point.
it was a drug rehab at one time.....alot of bad happened there.....
The building is now fenced off and you cant get close to it or inside. Ive heard that removing all the asbestos would be very costly so thats why it hasnt been torn down....
there are still holes in the fence and broken windows to get in
anyone that vandalizes public property regardless of it's condition should be prosecuted
I agree unless they are making it look supppper awesome and artistic af. I hate when people waist paint for some dumb shit like “do meth”
URBEX Hill best exploration ever!
I just happened to find this video by way of someone else who explored this same place recently and I'm not sure if you heard that voice at time stamp 6:34
Я тоже слышал странный шепот с перерывами и это явно не человек.
@ everyone : please don’t go here. i climbed in through an opening and got arrested shortly after even though i was super discreet. it’s not worth the court time, community service, and fines. please do not attempt this
Did you go during the day I know people who have gone in the middle of the night and no one saw them. Also did someone see you go in or see you while you were inside?
I did it to with my friend and we got caught by the police

6 years ago I was able to go in all the time in highschool haha could go on the roof and in the basement with no worries.
Man I looked at a video from 7 years ago this place got trashed
I was just here and got arrested very sad how messed up the in side is
My great great great aunt used to work here
Looks like I'll be visiting Ohio soon
I would love to buy and fix it up
I found your channel today
I worked therein late 80s and 90s as a security guard there are tunnels underground
Anybody find my bronze zippo lighter at the entrancing they went in threw? Or did anybody crazy the safe? I got some clay molds and a huge key ring of 15 keys imprinted DO NOT DUPLICATE. Those tunnels are flooded id bring plastic bags for your shoes to mates!
Nice one...i think now its barricades go even further
Was it hard to get in? And love this video!!
The difficulty of entrance changes seasonally (depending on who has visited recently).
@@lukevoegele8349 IKR which part of the fence is cut open today or secured again with steel cable LOL.
@@SirLongshank64 Unfortunately, the answer to your question changes every month, and I have not been there for more than several.
@@beautyoftheforgotten6183 I knew that I was making a joke as there are dozens of cuts in the fence around the perimeter.

This video was taken about a month ago. And thank you!

@green-ghost- 24 I caution you. www.ewtn.com/catholicism/library/spiritual-warfare-the-occult-has-demonic-influence-3803
This place has to be haunted people died there
Go check out Urbex Hill. He explored there a few weeks ago, all by himself, in a bunch of pitch black areas, and in the concrete tunnels, in the basement, and he saw what looked like a person walking away from him down there, in a straight tunnel. He went straight toward it, but it was a dead end. Nowhere for anyone to go, nor hide. Definitely a ghost. Camera didnt cut away or anything the entire time.
I sure hope you wear masks when you go into this type of place! Do you know anything about a TB sanitarium that used to be in North Royalton, Ohio?
It's especially important to wear one in those basement levels! Unfortunately, I am not familiar the sanatorium you mentioned.
@@beautyoftheforgotten6183 I was worried until I heard your voice sounded a bit muffled. I was so happy to see those gloves. Lovely choice. I am scared to death of something happening in these places--especially like this or the Old Doctor's Hospital--where something could fall, or the floor could crumble and leave the explorer hurt because sometimes there's no way to get help if it happens. I've taken Trevor's tour so I know the history of Molly Stark and that the asbestos was removed--thankfully--but it's still sad to see the glorious exterior and then the decayed interior. One day, I would love to find someone that has taken photos of the foyer. It's the one part of the building I most want to see because it's not repetitive like the rooms that are duplicated for the patients. I'm also interested in seeing inside the Children's Ward, but I'd like to do it legally so the rangers won't arrest me! :)
Thank you for your kind response! For a full album of the building fee free to visit my site: beautyoftheforgotten.com
Could you find the tunnels??
Was there cages there heard there was
There are cages there in the basement. But these are common for buildings of this size and age. They are usually for housing mechanical equipment that once serviced the building.
Stark County wasting tax payers money on that fence is ridiculous. These buildings were meant to be explored if someone gets hurt in there its no different than falling off a bench over in the picnic area they can get sued for that just as easy.
Amen.
I can't say I agree; as much as I like seeing what's inside (I am still hoping to catch glimpses of the foyer) I'd still rather have folks do it officially and not get the jail-time, etc for sneaking in. Mansfield is a prime example of what I wish could have happened here. Considering the state of decay, I really am worried about someone getting hurt--especially in the tunnels--and not being found until it's too late.
Real shit.
@@Knight-of-Sarcasm I would hate to have to pay to explore a place like that. Tbh. And if it were free to the public it would be even more destroyed. The way it is. Is the way it should be. Select people feel brave enough to enter. It’s their life. Idc to see anyone face their own consequences. We are all just here for the ride.
I think it is not scared but maybe in the night it scared i dont know each is it but i know that is in America i want to come there but iam not from America i am from Libya so maybe i come America

@@sammay3940 damn you got so lucky, but i’m glad you didn’t get in trouble! i was there at night, and the cops told me that a neighbor across the street saw my phone light and snitched smh
@@ricebowlasmr According to Trevor, the neighbors help keep a close eye on things so no one gets hurt. It's not that they want to ruin your fun; they just want folks to stay safe. They might be getting a bit frustrated though at the amount of calls. It went from 60 to 20 a year according to the Rep's article about ten years or so ago when the fence went up, but so many folks think "I'll be the one that succeeds."
@@Knight-of-Sarcasm the neighbors are just bored and love to ruin people’s fun. i was perfectly safe, proper PPE, no property damage, and the neighbors still bitched to the point where i was nearly given a felony arrest. these people do not care about safety, trust me. they’re bored, old, and like drama.

Terrible video footage. You cant hold that camera still enough. Moving your camera way too fast.
