- After 3 years of owning my 2017 Audi A4 B9 Quattro Premium Plus, I listed some of the pros and cons of the car. I wrapped up some of my most favorite things and some of the minor not so great things about the car. The dealer powder coated the wheels. I wrapped all the door trims, also wrapped and partially plasti dipped the grill.

These cars are super reliable! I own a 2019 Audi A4 with 69,000 Miles. I drive a lot and make long distance trips across states. I never had any issues. Full tank gives me near 600 miles until empty. I highly recommend anyone to get this car for a starter luxury.
Reliability isn’t really a concern until after 100k miles usually. Let me know how it performs at 150k miles and what’s needed fixing

The B9 with the B&O stereo system actually has 12 speakers upfront... one is apart of the 3D sound system and is located under the cupholders in front of the drive select :)

Just got my first Audi ever which is the 2017 A4 Premium Plus Quattro S-Line. I love my 2019 XC40 T5 R-Design, but I have to let it go. But man this car made it easier to transition, and I'm glad I bought it. I can't wait to mod it hehe.

I'm too lazy to go through all these comments but I hope someone told you the rear seat armrest rattle is warrantied.. No joke.. ymmv with certain dealers though. My dealer told me that any creaks or rattles just tell them and the tech will correct it for me

Solid review! Too funny on the rear arm rest rattle, Another video said that too and they added foam pads between the storage door and arm rest.

You can fix the rattle from armrest bolt with Insulation Adhesive Tape: PVC SCAPA 2702
(0.13*19mm/25m, black). Simply cover the bolt with that tape.
I have also the B&O and i am not that impressed by the quality. Mostly because the rattlings / vibrations from the speakers grills.. Don't you have this problem? One song to test with the rattlings: Gusgus - Over, the beat from the beginning of the song creates high rattlings..

I've had my 2017 B9 Premium Plus since May 2016, and I've never had a problem with it, except for those two minor recalls you mentioned. And yes, the gas mileage is exceptional for such a well-performing sports sedan. The one thing I don't like about the car is the expensive subscription cost for Audi Connect.
cameraz99 does the subscription include google earth? How much is it btw?
@@TanDiego -- Yes, it includes Google Earth. It is $199.00 every six months. But Google Earth on older B9s is being phased out by the end of the year and there's no word on a replacement yet, if ever. 😧

It starts to load and then fails and I’m really frustrated with this
The good thing is I can always use google maps from my phone so it’s ok
Yeah Audi has a reputation for brake noise, which is normal in the cold
I'm coming to the end of my lease of the 2017 Audi A4 Quattro I had got it with the premium plus package. I love this car so much I may just keep it. Having to reset dash to map mode was my only complaint.

@@catelinsimone nope I hated giving it up but just couldn't resist trading it in for the 2021. Had the touch screen display and the horsepower was upped by 15. All had lane departure, the 360° parking view on camera and adaptive cruise control.
It's got 19 speakers total, which includes the rear shelf subwoofer.

Freddy Medina I would say it’s very reliable. At least for me. I only had 2 recalls but they were so minor. It was a speaker trim and some seatbelt thing.
Which version of the Audi A4 2017 has custom interior lighting. I noticed yours is only white but I have also seen some other custom ones?
Duane Samoei that would be the “prestige” yea the premium plus only comes in white and can only adjust the brightness.
Which suspension you have? And how comfortable it is when going over bumps or potholes?
Do you have acoustic panels on the side mirrors?
I had the sport suspension that came with sport package, it was fine to me but I'm used to sports car feel. I don't know about the acoustic panels on the mirrors... what is that supposed to do?
@@TanDiego Thanks for the answer. Acoustic glass on windows (not panels, my bad :)) are thicker than standard glass and they are intended to isolate external noise from the cabin.
@@namsoiled I don't think it does, I can't find anything in the brochure about it but somehow the cabin is pretty quiet.
I’m looking to buy either the 2018 A4 2T Quattro, 2018 Lexus IS F sport or Honda Accord 2018 2T I was wondering if anybody wonder if those vehicles know about the maintenance fee, Hurd the A4 have heavy maintenance cost

Yes everything you said is so true to me! But one thing annoys me the most on my A4 B9 is that the car has slightly lower ground clearance compared to its competitors. Mine has sport suspension and I honestly think it is too low for a sedan. I have to be extremely careful when I park so that the front bumper doesn't hit and scrape the wheel stops (they're almost the same height). I've got two deep cuts on my front lower bumper already on these wheel stops : (
Chris Yicheng Shi oh really? I was thinking it’s a bit high, talking about the height between the wheels and the fenders, I wish the gaps were a bit smaller, comparing to the 3 series and the c class. I do have the sports suspension too. I have only hit the guards on the bottom.

Tan Diego 187 thousand miles on the clock. The clutch was change at 166 thousand miles, never touched the engine just timing belt,

Oright folks, here i am commenting in 2021, i been looking at 2017 A4, and idk it seems like a great car, and im just a college kid, i earn like what 1500 a month, its a great car and all, but aint sure if i should get the car. I dont mind bout the price, only thing what bothers me is, the maintenance costs and all. So any suggestion helps bout maintenance fee and all.

if you cant afford the maintenance costs, put it off until you can to get the car. These germans are expensive to fix. my car was under warranty and i bought the plan to cover the maintenance costs.

im at the end of my 2018 a4 premium lease and i dont know whether to buy the car or get a new a4 lease...the reason i might want to get a new lease is because the stock sound system on the premium trim is very meh and it doesnt have the safety features...and the ambient lighting is only white you cant change it to another color
If it doesn’t bring you joy, you should go for something else. Might as well enjoy something if you’re paying for it. I think this interior style is going to stay for a couple more years

2017 a4 junk 48303 miles struts, rear motor mounts, water pump, starter, 740.00 dollars to replace the damn battery, traded it for a Mazda 3

I had the car up to 36k miles and everything was covered with the maintenance plan I bought in the beginning

@@jeevakavya8958 you would have to ask the service department at the dealership. What I paid for was prepaid and it was part of the deal back in 2017, I’m sure prices have changed since
I’ve had mine for 18 months and I’m done with it. The suspension is too firm and takes the fun out of driving it for me.

From research, B is based on the Volkswagen group B platform for mid size car, this B9 stands for cars from 2016 to current

@@TanDiego Upgraded system! To be fair I'm used to some high end sound systems, but yeah.... just feels like they tuned it towards old men and called it a day XD I find anything bass heavy to be pretty lacking.... but it does the job

the reason why it takes soo long after you floor it its something with the 48volt things , you can fix it but i cant remember if it was within the car settings or with the obd eleven , I cant provide you with the link cuz ive seen it like a year before by a youtuber but if you search it you will probably find it

For 2017, the infotainment system feels like its from 2010 and its not even touch screen. 2020 models finally bring touchscreen but the infotainment looks like 2015. (I have an A4 too and it was my only gripe)

Git rid of it before it gets to 60,000 miles. It will swallow up your wallet whole.

@@TanDiego I've had two A4s, a 2005 and 2014. Both had oil consumption issue. 2014 was especially bad. Starting at about 60,000 miles it kept burning oil, and became progressively worse. I had to put in a qrt of oil every 700 - 800 miles. I took it to several shops to get it fixed, no luck. Took it to the dealership, they said it was Normal. Really, normal to add a qrt of oil every 700 miles?
Finally, at about 80,000 miles the car died.
I'm not the only one with similar story.

Flashy design and fancy gadgets, doesn't mean quality. It can, and probably will become a money pit soon.
