- We are back in lockdown so we can’t go anywhere but it gives me chance to share what van wheels I am running as it’s a question I get asked all the time, people are always interested in the tyres!
So here's a video answering what tyres are on the van but also some related questions about the wheels and sharing some video of the glorious autumn sunshine scenery in the Vale of Belvoir.

Was inspired by your video to get the same wheels and tyres for my T5. Love 'em. They look great, handle great, and feel much smoother than the ordinary road tyres they replaced.

Did it improved comfort? My t5 suspension feels stiff I'm hoping going from 205/60r16 to 235/70R16 will make a diference. Will it work? Did you gain comfort off road?
Did you tried it off road? Does it rub when under load and stearing is not strait? I want to put the same size, but I want to do some light off road and I am worried that under load it might rub...also I am curious if you test it in mud/snow since usually you have a lot of s..t build on the tire and arround it...
Did you get larger wheels when you changed the tyres or did you just put new tyres on the stock wheels? 15" or 16" wheels - I couldn't find 15" BFG A/Ts when I looked.

I currently only have a standard spare slung under the van. I have some of the spray gunk in case of puncture, failing that it’s a lob sided crawl on the standard spare to a garage.
Potentially looking at a rear rack for the future if I don’t upgrade anytime soon.
Hi good video m8 am thinking going down the same road as you but how does the van handle on the road in the wet as most of the time a will be on road driving
Absolutely fine, slight increase in road noise but it was never a quiet van to begin with. 😂

Just a web purchase. I cannot remember the store but there are plenty that do them
, love the look! My van is lowered by 40mm at the moment and have some 20 alloys on it. I'm wanting to change the look, I've ordered some 18" black steels with the hope of getting similar tyres to yours, do you think they will fit ok with the van being lowered slightly?
I doubt it with 40mm lowered! My rims are only 16”, have you thought about raising?
@@Midlander Yes, just thought they would fit due to having 20" wheels on at the moment which still have some clearance. If i where to raise would you just go back to the origanal height

What are the wheels? In thought they were 17” before you put the dimensions on. Also are you 2wd? Or 4motion
Only 2WD drive sadly, but perhaps an upgrade at some point!
Hi thanks for the video. How does the speedo read with the larger circumference??
Slightly slower, but it’s less noticeable at slow speeds. As a rough guide I’d say at 30mph you don’t notice. At 70 it probably reads between 75-77. These are very rough estimates though.

@@Midlander With the bigger overall diameter the van speedo will be reading low. I'm on 245/65R17 BFGs and according to GPS speedo I'm going 70mph when the Van speedo is reading 65. Worth keeping in mind with all the cameras everywhere.

@@Midlander yeah! That van would go down well haha! I have thought about taking my coil overs off mine for a while and this made the decision and I bought some new stock suspension 👍🏻

I didn’t see the point as I was only having steel rims and not alloys. I Also prefer the wider tyre look. I think it’s just down to personal preference, but you would need to check the tyres on a 17” rim are load rated correctly for the van.

Unfortunately yes but not terrible. Worse than that was the reduction in acceleration.
Probably been asked loads before, but what offset are the wheels? Are you running spacers or just straight on?
That’s ok, Straight on with no issues

No offset. These are just straight on the factory hubs. Rims are 16 inch.
After about 40k miles the Ko2's will sound like a Star wars death glider up to 70mph. Over 70 they're quite quietish😎

I’ve never had any trouble with aqua planing but then I never really go fast enough!!
Was this dimensions available for the car? or just fitted them without having them in the identity card as allwed?

@@Midlander like the document with the parts that the builder (in this case VW) allows. I'm pretty sure there must be something like that for the allowed tires on the vehicle. For example if the police stops you and checks for you tires, if they can be fitted, there must be some document like that. At least we have it in Romania. That's why I ask, I want to fit something pretty similar but I've heard that it might not be actually legal. My car will arrive to me next week so that's why i don't know yet exactly.
@@themusic9131 we have a yearly MOT in the UK and it’s passed every time. I’m not sure if the rules are different in Romania.

Where did you get the VW centre caps from?
eBay, there were loads of sellers.

Did you notice an Improvement in grip.on mud out t5 is shocking
Yes, a massive improvement. They have saved me from festival mud and winter snow.

Which rims did you buy from www.4x4tyres.co.uk, because they say that the type of rim is not sold in 16 ". It should be 16 " in my opinion in combination with 235/70/16 BF Goodrich T/A KO 2 All Terrain 104S. I don't get it.
They’re definitely 16” but they are over 5 years old. Perhaps they no longer sell them.
