This song pushed me to get together with my ex-wife. A lot of nitrous and tripping was involved. God I wish I remembered that few year's because what I do know is I had some incredible times.
No bullshit I introduced my good friend Clayton to ween when I was 16 and I’ve been a drummer for 13 years (I’m 24 now) and he used to play all of deeners songs on guitar and I’d play the drums. Long story short he got them tattooed on his thigh 3 months after I introduced him to them, this album specifically. My dad has the directors cut on DVD, greatest unknown band of all time
I can listen to this whole album start to finish…. But can never make it all the way thru without repeating this one at least one or five times. Haunting… beautiful.
and once again im high "licking my brain" to Ween...and suddenly all in life is well again..realise that the skies arent made of gold, the path of lifes not so easy to course...
""If you want an indicator of just how much The Mollusk influenced SpongeBob, you need to listen to the album’s standout track ‘Mutilated Lips’. The modulated voice that sings the chorus of, “Mutilated lips give a kiss on the wrist / Of the worm-like tips of tentacles expanding”, is so close to being SpongeBob’s that the first time you hear it, you’re shocked thinking that Ween had copied SpongeBob. However, it was the other way round. SpongeBob didn’t air until 1999."
This whole band is incredible. Claude is one of the greatest drummers in the world. Met him once and he was a great guy. His band Amandla was playing at the local club in my small town. He can also sing his ass off and tear up a guitar too!
Incredible, now looking back at this how hardcore Aaron's trip was before he got help cause he aged so much in only 15 years. It's like he aged twice as much.
@@shillian4770 I saw Mickey in a recent video and he is not doing too good himself it seems. He was really bloated and had gained a lot of weight. He looks very unhealthy. Hope he gets it together cause as soon as this pandemic shit ends we need another dance with the boognish!
travh20 no he doesn't. he looks into what he's doing and on his game big time. if you've ever seen him high, you'd know that he looks nothing like this but totally out of it and spaced.
rockbass out of all the performances I've seen online, this is the most sober and/or spot on I've seen. Totally on their game that night. They were filming it for a DVD so you know they tried their very best. Fuckin epic.
this track is so dope....I didn't really even like ween and my friend gave me this chicago concert on dvd and I've been a huge fan from then...thanks for adding this.!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a whole set as amazing as this show was. Absolute perfection. They ended with Blarneystone correct? When everyone is waving back and forth in proper sea shanty fashion… gets me in a good place.
They are playing again! My buddy just saw them in Oregon and said two minutes into the show he ran down front and screamed his head off for the next two hours.
I was already blaming YT for their 1080p premium feature. But this is old, so, OK, they still probably degraded quality because of age, though, on top of the original probably looking like what it probably looks like, an oldie, but it looks kind of official, I wonder how the quality was lost.
Gene is an amazing vocalist.
Ever seen them do Freedom Of ‘76 on freaking Jane Pratt show of all things? He hits every single note in falsetto and makes it look easy.
Claude Coleman never ceases to amaze me
Never?
Honestly, one of the most underrated drummers.
Yeah his work really stands out on this performance
gener is a legend
I love your avatar image
There's something almost sacred about this song.
one of my favorites, despite the fact that i've heard it 10 trillion times.
It’s so chill, almost too chill
Same. Fucking same.
Addicting...and the thing Gener does with his eyes makes the song all the more amazing.
I agree!
The earth realm will never be yours.
Ya I noticed that too! 😂
He's a very animated singer kinda like les Claypool or an even better example would be Eddie Vetter from Pearl Jam
I was just thinking how much I love geners live in Chicago crazy eyes
sorry to break it to you but that's just because he's tripping absolute balls.
like......what??? these guys are my favorite of all time!!!
This song pushed me to get together with my ex-wife. A lot of nitrous and tripping was involved. God I wish I remembered that few year's because what I do know is I had some incredible times.
Just discovered them a few months ago...F'ing fantastic!!!
Thank you for this upload. I was hoping to see them play this at riotfest.
I love ween
Give it time and you’ll find out how fast a decade can pass by. Me, I dwell in the past for I have no great philia of today.
Hahaha that is awesome man.
Yes
I cant stop watching this and I am stoned

How fitting
i was here at this show
THIS IS DA BOMB IM TELLING YA
The drummer is hand drumming on a traditional drum set. That is all
I;m 56 never did hard drugs and I love this band, I've seen them live twice.
ok?
Listened to this album for days while vacationing at Cox's Bazar beach. I thought I was becoming a sea creature. I recommend tripping to this album.
cant go wrong with ween while having a good time in any capacity
'I think I am growing tentacles...*pauses*...This pleases me.'
Joy Bangla
Hahhahaha oh I'm gonna remember that!!!
The Mollusk should be on everyone's top ten album lists of all time.
Don't know about everyone, but If you're into psychedelic, definitely.

One of the absolute best written songs I've ever heard! Chords, melody, the lyrics...not to mention that sweet ass synth. Pure bliss!
I concur

Most underrated band ever. These guys were genius.

jehadsound Claude’s drumming is what made me realize I need to listen to everything from these guys. Nice to hear that he’s cool!
Why did I read this in Wesley Willis’ voice?
@@danieldalton8266 Rock over London. Rock on Chicago
ween drummer is one of my favorites. I was about to write that and saw this at the top.
You shoulda seen old Jimmy Wilson dance
Ween make great hooks pulling you in
This song is like a psylocobin experience translated into music that you can taste a long time ago. The whole mollusk album is awesome.
Yes it is
The mollusk was so awesome that it inspired the TV series Spongebob Squarepants.
My favorite song to peak too.
Why am I yawning so much
The mollusk is my fave ween album and I love most
Ween is one of those bands that gives me drug vibes without ever having to take the stuff. A+++ every time.
If you were there you got braggin rights.
Yeah this show truly was killer, I can tell just from the vids!
And I have jealousy rights lol
man if i was there i would brag and flex so hard to those who weren’t
Don't let that distract you from the fact that the Quebec tour didn't actually stop in Quebec.
@@withnail-and-i Lol
You can tell Gener was feeling that song.
This might be the coolest version of the coolest song I ve ever heard. I totally love the eye popping too.
It’s giving SpongeBob. I absolutely love this band
I love how he jams the drums with his hands.
TON!
I'm so intrigued and mesmerized by ween. Can't get enough.
Get 12 Golden Country Greats. Phenomenal album.
So am I and I come from a Jerry background too
Ladies and gentleman, Mr. Claude Coleman Jr.
I received an email by the man himself, last week 👌🏼
I can not ever be weened off this music.

Got fat, got angry, started hating myself. Wrote Birthday Boy for you babe. Now skinny and sick and paranoid. Without a cent to my name.
That opening drum sequence..and overall performance is better than the studio. Psychedelic
Phenomenal. Much better than I expected. Was not sure how you could recapture the studio brilliance... but, they did.
Speaks to their level of talent.
This song is gooey :>)
+Ike Willis haha its also juisy
Such a good way to describe it
The greatest stoner song in history.
Right? When I was in high school I used to smoke and then listen to this on repeat with the Xbox visualizer. It was absolutely entrancing
Feel like Cypress Hill should be mentioned at this point. But hell yeah this is epic
Ween is magical
+Meowlody Ha I posted that as well on another video, but yes they are, wish they would rejoin forces.
I got see Gener and Deaner both this year for the first time, been a fan for 20 years,Im glad I got to see them perform live
They are playing some dates this summer. The force of Ween will return.
Where did you see them? I first saw them at the 930 club in DC some 20 years ago...
They perform thai EXACTLY like I thought they would. Bug eyed heavy breathing completely out of it lmao
And I haven't even mentioned that perfect guitar solo...rock on Deaner!
Top 10 guitarist ever. Not flashy when he plays… but technically??? Off the charts.
BEST WEEN SONG EVER!
Claude playing with his hands so well - not surprising, he just kills every song.
Soooooooo underrated
I didn't think I could love this band any more than I already do, and then I saw this video.
this version of this song = psilocybin
everything is turning brown..
It's fine when things change, having this music only makes you stronger
I hope you’re well:)
These guys are GREAT live!
I’ve noticed Ween is multiple things, mainly great, but their live performances are a chef kiss to music!
Trippy
