My kids (3 and 5) love this song, the great animated video was their gateway to Ween and now they ask me to play Ween videos all the time on my phone. My 3 year old daughter says "Dada can we watch derm derm celebration?". At the end she says "There goes the little boognish, off on his first walk". I'm so fucking proud. Thank you Ween.
Best buddy introduced me to ween at his high school party when tear for Eddie came on from his iPod mix. I'm 43 now and still bout this shit Ole son. Lost my buddy shortly after high school to drug addiction. Missing him love him , love you , chris
Man, been into ween since I fell asleep on some cheep pot with community radio on and woke up in the night feverish and hearing 'push the little daisies' in highschool. I also have lost dear friends and some songs remind me of them. we never stop missing them. We just go on, often seeing/hearing things that make us think, "I know my mate would have loved this or hated this and have had something hilarious to say about it". Always in our hearts those who went before we wanted them to.
This song calmed down my kitten when he freaked out during his first thunder storm. He’s older now but still curls up in my bed purring to ween when I put this on.
Gener's performance in this song is absolutely haunting. His ability to go to low and high is amazing. When he say SPI-KED LEEEEEEEEVAS, demeanor is actually kinda terrifying, but it a really cool way. And when he sings the chorus, I get the feels every time.
Joe Smith I spent two months learning Buckingham Green and I finally got the whole thing done of Father’s Day and I rocked it for him. Proudest moment of my life
It's wonderful when music crosses generations. And like techions, great musical sound waves travel both forward and backward in what we perceive as the arrow of time. My dad loves ween too. Particularly many of the songs from shinola. And particularly Buenos Tardes Amigo.
My older brother may he rest in eternal peace showed me this set and instantly I was hooked. 20 years ago and still feels like just yesterday. One of the many keystones in the arcs of my musical whole. I love you bro, see you on the other side 🤘🏽🕊️🍄
I honestly thought I wouldn't like this song live; the recorded version was (and will always be) heaven to my ears simply because it sounds like it's in F major, even though it's not. But this performance is overwhelmingly beautiful!
when done well; live music always wins. There is an energy in live music that doesnt always transfer over to the recording process, and that energy triumphs over the diminished sonic characteristics associated with live music. Also ween rules.
@Linda Niemkiewicz Its about the celebration of life and death and their continuity. The word "transdermal" is referring to evolution or this cycle being celebrated.
Years later I’ve rediscovered this song and just can’t find any fault with it. It’s immaculate perfection. That soaring solo in the middle of the track of all places is epic.
Man... These guys have made some of the most beautiful music my ears have ever had the pleasure of ingesting. Also some of the most bizarre and haunting music I've ever heard. One the most incredible bands that have ever existed for sure. I'm 45 now and have been a fan since high school.
The way Gener times that head bang with Clive without even looking is so perfect. I know a musician might not see the spectacle or the wonder of it, but as someone who always starts singing before the vocalist, timing amazes me, and that looks so good
Awesome song. I know seasoned Ween fans like that they play lots of different genres all in one package, but if they had put out an album of tracks all in the same vein as this, they would probably be one of my favorite bands of all time. That guitar solo @1:57 is absolutely epic - sounds even better than in the studio version, and the studio version is amazing, so that says alot.
finally listened to quebec today. i always played their songs “i don’t want it”, “chocolate town” and “tried and true” and thought to myself, why haven’t i listented to it whole?? this song played and i’m so angry at myself for not listening to it sooner. i am in love with this live version.
I first discovered ween on South Park with "the rainbow" and enjoyed their music but never went out my way to listen to them. after hearing this it's been on constant repeat. how did it me this long to discover this?
I love the transcendental rise in this dong, like being licted to another plane. So artfully constrcted and performed. They're like zappa and floyde combined 🤘🏼
Good to know I'm not the only one. If I ever have a playlist of just random songs that is meant to be viewed by anybody who wants to see the music I listen to, I go for the studio version of this song if I have it added to said playlist. But if I'm trying to get somebody into ween specifically, this is always the one I recommend.
perhaps the greatest live album o' them all ! if you dont have this dvd, run out right now and get it. bonus animated video of this song on there, too.
Was in a band that used to cover this song and played it in bars in Wisconsin. They didnt even know who or whar Ween was. Now they hail and wail the Boognish!
Why does Dean's playing remind me of STP's Interstate Love Song? I'm not a guitar player but it sounds like he's droning on like STP did and I love it.
Thanks for uploading this. Amazing song. It's just a real shame that the camera cuts to to keyboards during Dean's solo, especially the tricky bit I'm trying to learn!
Absolutely one of the greatest rock songs ever created.
nuke97 and one of the best bands in the world

you’re raising them right
Start 'em young.
Coincidentally, "Little Boognish" is the name of my Ween/The Wiggles mash-up tribute band.

that fucking solo would've given me an out of body experience if I was there
NO FUCKING DOUBT. Thank all that is good for RUclips, it's the only way I'll get to experience these awesome Pennsylvanian fukkers.
I wish I could have seen them in person sometime I loooove Ween is such a fun band

One of the greatest guitar solos ever created of all time
This song actually sounds better live...like how? how is this song so damn good?
how indeed
We are WEEN
Same applies with a few of their songs. PREC, Grobe, Dr Rock... I like them on album, but fkn love the live.
This song calmed down my kitten when he freaked out during his first thunder storm. He’s older now but still curls up in my bed purring to ween when I put this on.

For the longest time, I though Deener sang the low-voice parts on their songs, not realizing Gener sings them all.
@@kevinkennan5758 Yeah. It's crazy how great each of them are at singing.
he's seen some and will continue to see some shit. a special dude.
Still the best most comprehensive guitar solo in a rock song ever.
If anyone ever asks you what a Strat was meant to do, point them to this performance ;)
Brian Anderson -
That guitar signal is so heavily processed, ANY guitar would work.

Deaner owes that guitar dinner, god damn.
I showed my dad this on Father's Day yesterday since I had talked to him about Ween and how much of an eclectic sound they have, and he loved it.

To say the least 🍻 thanks brother
Gener walking up to the mic at the start of this is an act of pure defiance.
I honestly thought I wouldn't like this song live; the recorded version was (and will always be) heaven to my ears simply because it sounds like it's in F major, even though it's not. But this performance is overwhelmingly beautiful!
amen man
when done well; live music always wins. There is an energy in live music that doesnt always transfer over to the recording process, and that energy triumphs over the diminished sonic characteristics associated with live music. Also ween rules.
Actually, the recorded version is in E but it's tuned higher than proper tuning, so it's out of tune.
sometimes the live version ruins it, but this just makes it better... it's pure fukking gold man
So.. heaven to your ears is things that sound like they're in F Major, but aren't?..
Their face expressions... XD They really are putting the emotion into it.
Thats Meth... Yikes... He held his shit better than most though.. Perfect performance!
But where is the mutation that once told me it was safe, if I can't find him?
For a while thought he said, "Fucking find him"!
I always did too
This is actually the first i'm hearing otherwise. Mind blown. Quebec's been in my top 10 albums since 2006.
watching them live go from two dudes and a tape deck to this has been pretty remarkable
Guitar is so raw. I love it!
Amazing solo by good ol’ Deaner. Probably my favorite of his next to Roses Are Free.
@@Cheddar_Wizard I concur
this song is reason enough to be happy you've lived in ths timeline to listen to it
Still one of the greatest songs ever recorded. This song literally changed my life. I love you, Deener and Gener!!!
yes! Ween always makes me cry. I don't know why
This song, for sure.
this is a pretty sad song considering what it's about. the guitar solo is when it hits me.
@Linda Niemkiewicz Its about the celebration of life and death and their continuity. The word "transdermal" is referring to evolution or this cycle being celebrated.
Because it’s beautiful! Same for me. I’ll take rocking Ween or funny Ween or heartbreaking Ween. Or all at once.
This is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.
Years later I’ve rediscovered this song and just can’t find any fault with it. It’s immaculate perfection. That soaring solo in the middle of the track of all places is epic.
That solo makes me feel things deep down, like damn, Deaner makes that guitar absolutely sing.
Deaner's guitar sounds amazing!!!!
I saw those guys back in 98 at phillips mill playhouse they kicked ass. It was the greatest night of my life.

Deaner and Gener. The true yin and Yang. Ween has entered my top three favorite bands of all time in a matter of weeks
