Tripped balls in the 3rd row and kept screaming " A Teeeeear for Eddieeeeee" after every song ended. They never played it but I do remember Dean looking at me, looking back at Gene and laughing. He is actually playing very sloppy towards the end and hitting a bunch of notes out of tune and out of time, but it still works... kind of like Jimi Hendrix
I was on the front row near Deaner for this song one time and started tearing up, looked over and the girl next to me was sobbing hard into her hands. The song ended and she ran off only to come back 2 min later happy as can be. Also this is one of the best Eddies ever
I’ve always been back and forth with Ween. Chocolate & Cheese being my favorite album (obviously their most accessible). Took me a while to even dabble in searching for live Ween, so glad I did. To note: Beavis & Butthead reviewed 3 songs of theirs and by Freedom ‘76 even they appreciated their music. That’s how you know talent is there. Two cartoon geniuses created from a real one with impeccable musical taste.
Saw them what may have been the next show in Tallahassee. It was amazing. What a great song. Unfortunately, I do not think they played this song. It was a long time ago though.
I got a ween album for xmas from my son today. I put it on and this sing came up, and i started to cry, damn, its so beautiful,. Then i read the name of the track. I cried again, as ive lost 2 dear friends this year. Who was Eddie? Cried for u too mate
not that i didn't love the whole album, cause i did, but i don't know of one P-Funk project that did a direct homage/tribute to Eddie Hazel, and i'm glad they did, and did it right. let's me know Eddie had at least one more smile in guitar heaven listening to this...
