TheKidBizzi 330 Duvall wasn’t on any of Jerry’s solo studio albums. He only toured with Duvall with his band Comes with the Fall, and he sang some AIC songs then on that tour about 2002, which I was able to see live. But Duvall didn’t record anything with Jerry until he was in AIC doing the Black Gives Way to Blue album, released in 2009.
I agree. Nothing against William Duvall, but he's missing that last 5% that Layne had. Rainier Fog is still a great album and the title track is so damn good.

The 90's was a great time to be young, and a lot of that is because of the music. AIC is one of those bands that has stood the test of time; listening to what they created these days (as I often do) is still as haunting and inspiring as it ever was. Long may they be heard!
They were really good, but no one can be compared with Nivarna, mainly bc Cobain wroted all by himself and he had most insane voice ever in rock genres, some of great musicians said that, not to mention that sound he used perfectly fit his voice...
Meh they’re just the new Beatles wave respect his vision but nothing that the pixies didn’t do, Kurt was a force of nature but Alice In Chains is supreme. They were just pop and commercial punk.
I wonder if kids will ever truly understand how cool the movement in Seattle was. I feel so lucky to have grown up during these unbelievable few years in the 90's. Not to mention the Hiphop happening at the exact same time. What a time to live through loving music.
@@someguy2744 Not really, Jimi didn't do much in Seattle. He got his first guitar at 15, went in the army at 19, and only returned a few times after that. He did play around some before leaving, but DID NOT have much influence on Seattle's music scene, outside of just being from there.

This was Alice in Chains and Nirvana's first tour together and both bands sounded amazing at the Hollywood Rock festival in Brazil. They also partied their asses off in Brazil as well. What an amazing concert this was!
Such a great song, and so hard to sing live (especially on tour, singing 2-4 nights a week, and singing this after burning your voice on a dozen songs before this one). AIC harmonies taught me how to sing.... I hope this chorus can be some small tribute to these legends. ruclips.net/video/C5qaU4K2ex8/видео.html
Laynes sick as hell during this concert and still puts his voice and dignity on the line and BELTS would the way it requires him to for it to sound right. Mad respect most people wouldn't dare risk it.
BlueBotMemes they are nothing but a softer metal band. Grunge is a music genre of simple riffs, a few chords and usually no solos. All of which Alice In Chains contridicts. There are many attributes to their music that prevent them as being labeled as grunge. Even Alice In Chains as a band agreed they weren’t grunge and were kind of annoyed they were being labeled as a grunge band, being that grunge at the time was very mainstream.

I agree but on the flip of a coin im happy they kept going with Duvall to keep the music going i thought jerry cantrell did an awesome job on the solo albums he did with duvall and the rest it only made sense to make duvall part of alice in chains as well if that makes sense.....no one that iv heard can match laynes voice.. gone but never forgotten
Rainier Fog is still a great album and the title track is so damn good.
did Cornell ever do a tribute to him? that would be interesting.
Best bass line, Mike starr was a beast. Rip Mike and layne.
Damn Layne could really push it even after losing his voic
Eu estava lá no meio dessa multidão!
Pra sempre na minha lembrança!
Que show!!!

Funny to see all the current arguing about Harry Styles ,etc. wearing skirts when Mike is up there playing the dirtiest bass lines known to man in a skirt like it's no big thing in 1993. RIP Mike
The 90's was a great time to be young, and a lot of that is because of the music. AIC is one of those bands that has stood the test of time; listening to what they created these days (as I often do) is still as haunting and inspiring as it ever was. Long may they be heard!
I Miss 90's
Love you Jerry, but Layne... Damn.
Best band ever. I still listen to them almost everyday
@@kevinmyrick218 yea I’m agreeing here, Alice In Chains just made better shit
Goddamnit Layne you fucking legend
No fucking doubt!!!
I wonder if kids will ever truly understand how cool the movement in Seattle was.
I feel so lucky to have grown up during these unbelievable few years in the 90's.
Not to mention the Hiphop happening at the exact same time. What a time to live through loving music.
Now imagine if you grew up in Seattle during the 50s/60s - you would have seen Jimi Hendrix's development and rise.
What about Metallica in Seattle 89. Seems to be the most hardcore concert they have ever given
@@someguy2744 Not really, Jimi didn't do much in Seattle. He got his first guitar at 15, went in the army at 19, and only returned a few times after that. He did play around some before leaving, but DID NOT have much influence on Seattle's music scene, outside of just being from there.
unfucking believeable

Neste show a primeira música foi them bones, e o volume ou o retorno do microfone estava baixo. Resultado: sem voz o show todo.
Obrigado por explicar. Achei a voz dele diferente nesta apresentação.
my skin bristles when Layne's voice breaks
End of a tour plus no sleep plus a decent amount of cigarettes... A voice is a living thing that must be treated with respect. Even though he sounds immortal he was very human!
Same here , my tears couldn't stopped rolling after listening him like this 💔 I can't see him like this 😭
@@wokejesus6501 he was probably screaming bloody murder the night/day before because the bassist mike had an overdose just before this show.
This was Alice in Chains and Nirvana's first tour together and both bands sounded amazing at the Hollywood Rock festival in Brazil. They also partied their asses off in Brazil as well. What an amazing concert this was!
Thank you, Layne, Jerry, Mike and Sean. Your music saved lives.
Rock in Peace, L & M. 🎤🎸🙏
Esse show foi no Hollywood Rock no Rio de Janeiro em janeiro de 1993,eu fui no show de São Paulo.
that bullshit music today by that toad that sings "im in love with your body" isnt even a footnote to what was made in the early 90s
Curte Bones e curte AiC, foda mano!
Falou tudo
Banda formidável
Maaaaravilhosa
too bad I was just being born during this
This is my favourite performance of this song.
Though his voice sounds scratchy he still was able to pull it off!
Laynes sick as hell during this concert and still puts his voice and dignity on the line and BELTS would the way it requires him to for it to sound right. Mad respect most people wouldn't dare risk it.
RIP King Layne
AIC with Layne is the only AIC. The best vocal. RIP
That note at 1:08 is everything.
Ladies and gentleman, this is the quintessential Grunge
lopazio Alice In Chains was not grunge. Don’t dishonor them like that.
Nathan Explosion but they were...
BlueBotMemes no, they were not.
Nathan Explosion what were they?
BlueBotMemes they are nothing but a softer metal band. Grunge is a music genre of simple riffs, a few chords and usually no solos. All of which Alice In Chains contridicts. There are many attributes to their music that prevent them as being labeled as grunge. Even Alice In Chains as a band agreed they weren’t grunge and were kind of annoyed they were being labeled as a grunge band, being that grunge at the time was very mainstream.
0:12 Jerry look like Cliff Burton
Why chant

I think he sounds great here. I dont think he was that high.

R.I.P Layne Staley, without the substance you'd still be here with us singing..
Him not singing the last line is haunting.
We expected it but he couldn’t pull it off that night, and it was still epic!
Where can we find the whole show from this source? It sounds amazing would kill to hear LHL this quality!
I always had a crush on Layne😂😍, he was so hot.
For sure and he always changed his hair style and it always looks great
Love that this live version is slightly slower tempo
Layne 🎤
Jerry🎸
Mike 🎸
Sean🥁
R.l.P Layne Staley 😥 R.l.P Mike Starr 😥
Layne Staley must have sang too hard in his warm-ups. He just has tiny voice cracks. (Probably because of the cocaine.) Still Alice in chains will always be my favorite band. R.I.P Lane Staley

dude would bleed his voice dry every time he was on stage. still gauged every ounce he could get out of it and adjusted accordingly
Even though layne was so sick beyond imaginable it’s still better than any new song that has been released
Where are my guitar nerds at? Jerry playing that American made Peavey Wolfgang that Eddie gave to him 🖤
Bro, where did you get this video with such quality, I would like to find the complete concert in this sound quality, I would pay for it, do you know something?
That guitar tone..... so dark and powerful
Jerry, the best guitarist of the 90,s not to mention his lyrics
Ot must have hurt like he'll for him to try to hit those big long notes...damn, what a soldier...rip Layne...
Layne sure pulls it off. Even though his voice sounded like it was gone that day. 🤘🤘
Kurt Coabain singing?
Dave Mustain on guitar?
Marty Friedman on Bass?
Tommy Lee on drums?
Wtf lmao
J.k.
I'll never understand why some people don't like when singers overly strained and sing like this, personally I love the sound and raw energy to it, but I know it's probably bad for the singers lol
Hollywood is a famous cigarette brand here in Brazil, they sell like water in the desert but still, why the fuck they didn't they do more Hollywood Rock festivals, dammit.
The last verse and the pause always gets me. Such an amazing band. Layne was struggling a bit on his high notes here but still amazing.
A melhor do Alice ... Essa versão lembra meus 15 anos kkkkk
I love this perfomance. He sounds even cooler with that raspy voice.
There will never be another like Layne or another two in harmonic sync like Layne & Jerry
if you watch the entire set Layne blows his voice during Love Hate Love. given how hard these guys were touring at this time, it's not surprising, especially the way he sings
What gear is Jerry using for that fucking tone?! It’s sounds so fucking badass
More than likely an EVH Guitar and a Marshall amp.
Bogner modified Marshall.
Eddie Van Halen gave Jerry one of his signature model Music Man guitars and a stack of his 1st gen Peavey 5150 amps.
@@chrisluckhardt yep and it changed his live sound a little bit. Eddie gave him a bunch of stuff while they toured together. Those 5150s where so loud and crunchy. I bet every metal band from the mid 90s to about 2005 used them.
@@chrisluckhardt Actually 2 guitars. The blue one here & a Gold top model plus the amps & cabs.
