Skoda Rapid Spaceback 2017 Review - First Drive

This is the Car Buyers Guide first look review of the facelifted 2017 / 2018 Skoda Rapid Spaceback. Ian Fitzpatrick attended the Skoda Ireland launch of the car. We only had roughly twenty minutes with the car, but the main changes to the car are to the face and the introduction of the 1.0TSI 110hp engine.
The Rapid range starts from €19,750 for the 95hp 1.0TSI manual. The Skoda Rapid Spaceback range starts from €19,595. The new 110hp TSI can be had from €22,160 and the 1.4TDI from €21,495. The Rapid is available with a 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearbox and with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. The minor changes are new fog lights with surrounds and LED daytime running lights built into the headlights.
Inside, the infotainment system is still the same as the old one so hasn't taken inspiration from the facelift 2018 Skoda Citigo. Buyers now get an umbrella under the passenger seat, the same luxury as the Skoda Superb.
