Great video. Just one small correction. Rouge wasn't working for GUN in SA2. Taking a look at the original japanese dialogues (some of the english dialogue were poor translations), it's clear that we worked for the president, and was sent to recover information about the ultimate life form project (info that GUN most likely had). It's likely that GUN was independent or not directly commanded by the president (prior to Shadow's game in 2005 which somewhat retconed that) If you're interested, Ruby of Blue's video on SA2 covers confusing points in the story, which were mostly due to mistranslation and misinterpretations.

It's because the time travel aspect wasn't done correctly. Following what the game gives you doesn't make sense. A few of the traveling aspects, such as Sonic losing the fight against Silver then Shadow traveling through time to interrupt the fight before Sonic loses, clean it up while still being correct. Very well done.

Kaiman Parker sometime between Sonic 2 and Sonic CD Sonic felt like getting popcorn, but sadly while getting the popcorn the conveyor belt he was standing on starts moving! It was Robotnik (before he was eggman)! Now he has to run against the belt and save his popcorn! Of course he does beat Robotnik and happily eats his popcorn (maybe Tails eats too). I would have made Sonic and Eleis's relationship based more off of a strong friendship and respect for one another rather than romance. I also would have made Eleis more tomboyish and hardy and give her a little depth.
Also I would have turned Elise into an anthro animal like a phoenix or something. I agree that it would have been cooler for her to be more of a fighter so that she could be playable. As well it could have been interesting to see her come back (if she had this qualities) and Sonic and pals visit her to see hows Solena.
there's this one theory that the Time Eater was actually the leftovers of Mephiles created due to him being erased in the past (it had the same color scheme as Mephiles being black and purple and it had a flame motif about it similar to Iblis, also, it caused Crisis City AND the Iblis spawn to appear in the White void, which shouldn't have happened since '06 events were erased.)
Wow Sonic 06 made like 8 different timelines. And now I'm sure Mania made another one. I'm glad they're continuing to add to Sonic's lore. They had some interesting ideas.
Don't forget that Elise's Chaos Emerald is the reason Sonic, Tails and Knuckles were sent to the future. Since Silver brings it to the past and gives it to her, she can't have it in the early timelines, meaning she can't give it to Sonic.

Boom is alternate continuity, Forces is currently theorised to take place after Sonic Brotherhood based on my timeline, Mania seems to be towards the end of the Classic Era, and Classic Sonic in Forces seems to have the new bounce dash move from Mania, suggesting he's from just after Mania.

I would make go along the lines of this: timeline 13, 14AS, sonic flies back to angel island with tails after seeing seeing it fall back to the ocean. When they get there, egg robos are digging up the ground, eventually finding the phantom ruby (a dimensional time altering stone thing), it then sends sonic and tails (& Knuckles) to green hill zone, after multiple dimensional shifts, sonic has all chaos emeralds and uses them to beat eggman in a flash, the phantom ruby then spazes out and teleports sonic to the void, along with eggman and heavy king(altered by the phantom ruby into a super form). After sonic wins, the phantom ruby then sends him into another future timeline. Timeline 14, 18AS, mania sonic/2D sonic is sent spindashing in to a giant rock, in turn saving his future self. The phantom ruby has disappeared and modern is (enter sonic forces plot + ending). A few gaps here and there, but I think this would be closish. [Don't know why I re-commented]

Sonic was born in 1976 Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 actually took place in 1991, as Sonic was 15 and the game takes place around the 15th anniversary. Along with that, back in 1991, SEGA confirmed that Sonic was 15, and it was in the original game's manual.

fox sonic Ya see, I like it this way, and I'm not the only one. The game was terrible- but it made all of the other games perfectly piece together. Sure, it did create seven timelines, two where sonic was killed- but it fit together a lot of games in the process.
A few things i'd like to point out. It's speculated that Sonic 4 takes place in an alternate timeline where little planet was left in a bad future, given it's state in Episode metal. That would also explain how Metal Sonic 1.0 is still alive in Sonic Heroes, since it was destroyed in the Sonic 4 timeline. However that would also assume that in the good future of little planet Metal Sonic survived. I'd speculate that Sonic pocket adventure takes place before 4 in that timeline and before Sonic Adventure, since it debuts sonic's Green eye maturity, and Eggmans modern attire later in the game. It's also important to note that in Sonic Advance 3, the world was split into 7 different parts, which might explain why afterwards the world is different in games like Unleashed.

Honestly, you could simplify the timeline much more if you assume 06 was part of a separate timeline since the beginning and the erasure of the Solaris flame is what created the timeline where every other sonic game takes place. As in, Blaze being another dimension is a result of 06 and her response to the description of sonic in 06 is either because she's remembering things from the timeline that she'll soon be part of, or she only responded that way because of some random hint of sonic that exists in the future, like maybe a act clear sign with his face on it.

Rektangle Sonic x is an alternate timeline. While it does explain some things that weren't explained in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, the show is a seperate canon.
@@chocov1233 The stories are unchanged in the re-releases, minus a Cream the Rabbit cameo(this is probably Cream learning how to fly, most likely before she even gets Cheese) but her appearance in SADX doesn't change the story of Sonic Adventure since she doesn't interact with the main heroes. SA2B and SA2's stories are identical minus alterations in cutscenes, but the narrative is completely unchanged.
-Plus in Sonic Heroes, she mentions knowing about the Perfect Chaos crisis in Station Square, but didn't know that Amy and more importantly Big were directly involved in the events. This probably backs up her cameo since SADX released before Heroes.-
Really? The continuing storyline? I always thought of the stories all as stand alone type of thing. I don't see how they are connected, other then direct sequels. Even in the case of SA1 and SA2 the plot and story really isn't carried over. I dont know, the story just never seemed that important to me.

The complexity of this timeline is probably one of the reasons Sega has struggled with sonic so much in recent years tho sonic mania was amazing I'm looking forward to see how that fits in the timeline also hope we aren't let down by forces looks great atm

XD And actually, this one is pretty linear with what merely includes time travel stories that are nothing more than loops and zig-zags. There's no branching out or on-going alternate timelines, at least none that are covered. lol

I feel like there's too many timelines. I mean, in sonic 06, I thought they only made 3 different timelines, as several events were due to another character going back in time. For example, the fact that silver and shadow went back in time and sealed the two parts of solaris is part of the original start of sonic 06, so them going back to do so shouldn't make an additional timeline as it's part of the one they are in- just making a loop. The only times the timeline diverges in that game should be the one where iblis escapes but doesn't become solaris, the one where solaris is reformed, and the one where solaris was snuffed out. Every other instance of time travel was part of one of those three timelines, not new ones altogether. Unless there are instances in which time travel in that game altered events of the game besides those three instances?
@The4thSnake so just to make sure im correct on this eggman nega is born 200 years in the future he then goes to the sol universe of blaze to steal the sol emeralds this fuses the two worlds sonic and blaze defeat them. instead of blaze going back to the sol universe she somehow ends up in the future of sonic universe where she stays to help sliver which then explains how she has that line where she vaguely remembers sonic. after solaris is defeated and it is blown out by princess elise this resets the timeline back to sonic rush where now blaze travels back to sol universe instead at the end of sonic rush and then later in sonic rush adventure sonic and tail and blaze meet again and the timeline goes from there

They were supposed to be a "lock-on bonus" for the player. Put it like this, you just finished Sonic 3 with all the 7 chaos emeralds and Sonic and Knuckles comes around like 3 weeks after that, the super rings in S&K are just a insta Super Sonic if not an Easy mode itself. So... More emeralds more play time. The story in S3&K is canon, just without the Super Emeralds.

Great video. Just one small correction. Rouge wasn't working for GUN in SA2. Taking a look at the original japanese dialogues (some of the english dialogue were poor translations), it's clear that we worked for the president, and was sent to recover information about the ultimate life form project (info that GUN most likely had). It's likely that GUN was independent or not directly commanded by the president (prior to Shadow's game in 2005 which somewhat retconed that)
If you're interested, Ruby of Blue's video on SA2 covers confusing points in the story, which were mostly due to mistranslation and misinterpretations.

It's because the time travel aspect wasn't done correctly. Following what the game gives you doesn't make sense. A few of the traveling aspects, such as Sonic losing the fight against Silver then Shadow traveling through time to interrupt the fight before Sonic loses, clean it up while still being correct. Very well done.

European hedgehog has mainly monochrome color vision, although it does appear to be able to distinguish some colors. For instance, he notes that “yellow was distinguished from all shades of grey and blue” in good light.

Don't forget that Elise's Chaos Emerald is the reason Sonic, Tails and Knuckles were sent to the future. Since Silver brings it to the past and gives it to her, she can't have it in the early timelines, meaning she can't give it to Sonic.

Boom is alternate continuity, Forces is currently theorised to take place after Sonic Brotherhood based on my timeline, Mania seems to be towards the end of the Classic Era, and Classic Sonic in Forces seems to have the new bounce dash move from Mania, suggesting he's from just after Mania.

I would make go along the lines of this: timeline 13, 14AS, sonic flies back to angel island with tails after seeing seeing it fall back to the ocean. When they get there, egg robos are digging up the ground, eventually finding the phantom ruby (a dimensional time altering stone thing), it then sends sonic and tails (& Knuckles) to green hill zone, after multiple dimensional shifts, sonic has all chaos emeralds and uses them to beat eggman in a flash, the phantom ruby then spazes out and teleports sonic to the void, along with eggman and heavy king(altered by the phantom ruby into a super form). After sonic wins, the phantom ruby then sends him into another future timeline.
Timeline 14, 18AS, mania sonic/2D sonic is sent spindashing in to a giant rock, in turn saving his future self. The phantom ruby has disappeared and modern is (enter sonic forces plot + ending). A few gaps here and there, but I think this would be closish. [Don't know why I re-commented]

Ya see, I like it this way, and I'm not the only one. The game was terrible- but it made all of the other games perfectly piece together. Sure, it did create seven timelines, two where sonic was killed- but it fit together a lot of games in the process.
A few things i'd like to point out. It's speculated that Sonic 4 takes place in an alternate timeline where little planet was left in a bad future, given it's state in Episode metal. That would also explain how Metal Sonic 1.0 is still alive in Sonic Heroes, since it was destroyed in the Sonic 4 timeline. However that would also assume that in the good future of little planet Metal Sonic survived. I'd speculate that Sonic pocket adventure takes place before 4 in that timeline and before Sonic Adventure, since it debuts sonic's Green eye maturity, and Eggmans modern attire later in the game. It's also important to note that in Sonic Advance 3, the world was split into 7 different parts, which might explain why afterwards the world is different in games like Unleashed.

Honestly, you could simplify the timeline much more if you assume 06 was part of a separate timeline since the beginning and the erasure of the Solaris flame is what created the timeline where every other sonic game takes place. As in, Blaze being another dimension is a result of 06 and her response to the description of sonic in 06 is either because she's remembering things from the timeline that she'll soon be part of, or she only responded that way because of some random hint of sonic that exists in the future, like maybe a act clear sign with his face on it.

Rektangle Sonic x is an alternate timeline. While it does explain some things that weren't explained in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, the show is a seperate canon.

SA2B and SA2's stories are identical minus alterations in cutscenes, but the narrative is completely unchanged.
-Plus in Sonic Heroes, she mentions knowing about the Perfect Chaos crisis in Station Square, but didn't know that Amy and more importantly Big were directly involved in the events. This probably backs up her cameo since SADX released before Heroes.-

I feel like there's too many timelines. I mean, in sonic 06, I thought they only made 3 different timelines, as several events were due to another character going back in time.
For example, the fact that silver and shadow went back in time and sealed the two parts of solaris is part of the original start of sonic 06, so them going back to do so shouldn't make an additional timeline as it's part of the one they are in- just making a loop.
The only times the timeline diverges in that game should be the one where iblis escapes but doesn't become solaris, the one where solaris is reformed, and the one where solaris was snuffed out. Every other instance of time travel was part of one of those three timelines, not new ones altogether.
Unless there are instances in which time travel in that game altered events of the game besides those three instances?

@The4thSnake so just to make sure im correct on this eggman nega is born 200 years in the future he then goes to the sol universe of blaze to steal the sol emeralds this fuses the two worlds sonic and blaze defeat them. instead of blaze going back to the sol universe she somehow ends up in the future of sonic universe where she stays to help sliver which then explains how she has that line where she vaguely remembers sonic. after solaris is defeated and it is blown out by princess elise this resets the timeline back to sonic rush where now blaze travels back to sol universe instead at the end of sonic rush and then later in sonic rush adventure sonic and tail and blaze meet again and the timeline goes from there

So you mention the events of Sonic 3/& Knuckles but don't mention the super emeralds, which was used to form Hyper Sonic. Is Hyper Sonic noncannon?
They were supposed to be a "lock-on bonus" for the player. Put it like this, you just finished Sonic 3 with all the 7 chaos emeralds and Sonic and Knuckles comes around like 3 weeks after that, the super rings in S&K are just a insta Super Sonic if not an Easy mode itself. So... More emeralds more play time. The story in S3&K is canon, just without the Super Emeralds.
@@1300ness A year late but something I noticed though the super emeralds are still in the game sonic and knuckles even without adding sonic 3 to the lock on. Not to mention the super emeralds have reappeared in sonic mania again.
Sometime after Sonic 3 and before Chaotix, Robotnik announces the first Chaos GP, bringing Sonic, Tails and Amy Rose into the game. Sonic emerges victorious. Dr. Robotnik heads off back to his fortress in shame. Now the trio, after the race, had won a huge sum of money, that is to say rings. Sonic opens up a school house, tails opens up his own music factory, and Amy does what she does best. I don't know what the hell that is. Anyway, robotnik later announces the opening of his new amusement park. Game world. The trio team up once again to enter his new challenge, go through all six floors and win all six of the seven Emeralds.a year later, Dr. Robotnik announces the new Chaos GP. This time there are more challengers. To be continued.
Hey I just had an idea what if the sonic and nights into dreams are set in a the same universe and if they you can add nights to the timeline
Wait, Charmy is the same age as Cream, so Vector has a small child on the payroll for his detective agency? Wasn't he like almost as old as Knuckles in Chaotix, or was that just the US manual being wrong again?
