It's so cute how when Teego was a kitten he was introduced to an older cat & was quite playful himself.. Oh Teego,,, he was sooo playful & naive as a little kitty, & now he's a mature, upstanding grown man teaching the rules to a younger kitty like he was once taught. 🙂💖💖💖

i LOVE how they seem so distracted in grooming themselves when in actuality they are completely aware of the interloper in the midst. another example of nuanced cat behavior that is so fascinating and important to recognize. I think its amusing to see a cat suddenly groom themselves with such a laissez faire attitude when in a conundrum.

Interesting to see how the cat that was introduced to a cat before is reacting when a cat is introduced to it. Tigo was very playful, but is kinda rough himself.

This is some GREAT footage, and you really know your stuff.. i fully agree with the description of their actions and "thoughts".. i just found this channel and watched teego as kitten first.. holy shit he got big.
Kennie Diamond It's funny - Teego's big, but Chatzi is a pure muscle ninja, and almost weighs the same as Teego! Chatzi would be a hunky guy with a big sixpack if he was human!
My Bengal is the same, I don't think the vets know much about bengals (well our vet) they said he needs to go on I diet, but if you pick him up he's just pure muscle, because he doesn't like being picked up you can feel his power when trying to get away, really I'm the only one who he lets pick him up but still it doesn't last long. I think bengals keep growing for years longer than domestic cats as ours seems to bulk up every year. He's now 12 but looks twice the size he was when he was 8, I know it's not fat as he always lets my other cat eat his food, he prefers real meats like on the bone or dries biscuits.

gamesbok yeah I do he's just not the same kind of cat as our other cat, that sadly we got put down the other day and buried him yesterday.
I love my Bengal to bits but he's just not the affectionate cat my other cat was.
Bengals just aren't the same as normal domestic cat's, I'm missing my other cat like crazy already and my Bengal doesn't come close to the loveable cat he was. He has bags of personality but they are miles apart from being a loveable friendly cat my other cat was.

I have always owned a cat, so has everyone else in my family. There has never been a time more than ....half a year when i did not own a cat. So I can say from experience everything you said in this video is exactly and precisely correct.

I work at a shelter and even though I am well used to cat behaviour, it's pretty enlightening to see a deeper analysis like this and to discover other forms of body language that's important to learn

5:00 in, some people would freak out at that "oh no they fought!", but that was quite a nice little spat, as far as spats go. Its important for kittens or younger new cats to learn "their place", as often theyve been alone in a shelter, or raised away from the parents, or weaned too early, so they dont know whats appropriate and whats not. Its like a kid in a store throwing things around, scratching folks, biting people, screaming and yelling -- they need someone older to come up, pop em one, and teach them to shut up and act right. Cats do the same.
Having been a cat owner going on 30 years, I still found this minute observation of the behaviour interesting. A lovely video series, and very useful for prospective cat owners and multiple cat owners.

I only have one cat, a mature Tonkinese, but have a younger, sprightly & sometimes cheeky dog too - a dachshund/border collie/Australian kelpie mix. This is like my cats. My tiny 5 pound cat bullies around our 20 pound cat. It is incredible to see that little guy bully around an animal four times his size.

After watching the entire 8 videos, I just had to come back and tell your Teego as a kitten and as an adult just crawled up into my heart. He is just adorable. Cute and classey! Good manners and a good sense of self. Thank you for sharing his kittenhood and part of his adulthood. You guys are great cat parents. Oh, and I played a little of this on the computer, with sound, for my cat, Surya. I suspect that the adorable orange tabby is staying in the room because cats tend to like to keep an eye on others. They like to know where the bouncy-demon, or the screamy-child(in the case of humans) is. I suspect that that room would benefit heavily from some verticality. Some cat-trees, or some shelving, something like that, so that the cats can give themselves spaces to observe other cats from up high where they feel "safe"
