This is Chapter 4 of a series on the ups and downs of introducing a Bengal kitten to a household of cats.
I love to watch cat behaviour and make documentaries on what I see.

I have had cats all my life. Right now I have 5 cats (and 2 dogs), and love the way you narrate their attitudes, behavior, body language, .... it's spot on!
Watching the Teego/Freya introduction made me want to adopt a new kitten :-)

Both my cats heard a meow and came running towards my iPad. My two little rascals,Mocha and Cider!
Our older cat reacted exactly like this when we introduced a kitten. She still hisses at him every once in a while years later, but we'll catch them cuddling and playing lol

I've alway had cats - mostly Siamese. My way of introduction was a bit different but equally successfull. As an example, a while ago I had a rescued male Siamese who had been treated badly. I wanted him to have a buddy, so I got a six-month old "teenage" kitten, another Siamese male, from my family's cattery. I put the second guy into a long spacious cat cage and set it up on low trestles, and let them get acquainted - safely - at their own speed. At first there was a lot of "wailing and gnashing of teeth" from the older guy, but the kitten's response behind the safety of the cage was like, "Chill out - you know you're going to like me in a few days." And the older cat did and the two became great buds. Then I introduced very young (six weeks old) female Siamese the same way. The boys were growling and yowling and hissing, while the little girl was like, "You know I'm awfully cute and in a few days you're really going to like me." And so they did, and the three became great friends, alway sleeping and lounging in a cat pile and playing great cat games with each other. The first cat is gone now, but the remaining two are always together.This is just an alternate technique to the cat-room technique, and it has always worked for me and for my paernts and their cats.

I was watching this on the couch with my dog next to me. She reacted to the meowing about 30 seconds into the video by vigorously tilting her head and then finally leaning in and licking the laptop speaker like she was trying to comfort it. It was the cutest, funniest thing I've ever seen.

I'm so glad my cats are super quiet. It would drive me nuts having constant mewing. My two cats will meow just to say hi or to ask for food/water generally.

Besides your voice and style of talking (like i said: morgan freeman of cat documentary) I just realized what I like the most about your videos. You almost never anthropomorphize the cats and there behaviour and instead have a very clear and descriptive way of teaching us about cat behaviour. Excellent work!

He’s a right little shit bag but I love him to bits .
It's 3:30 am and I have no idea how i got here...
They all have thier own unique approaches of meeting new cats,and probably new situations in general!! This is addicting..lol.

Great series and Bengals are a fascinating breed but they need company and stimulation. I've just taken in a very thin but sweet stray who is quite happy to keep me company and get regular meals.
3 years ago, i found an abandoned black kitten, about 2-3 months old, brought her home where i already had 2 cats, a male and a female, about 5-6 months old. Set loose the new intruder in the flat, there were some growls, hissing and fluffy squirrel lvl tails, no attack. Two days later they were sleeping all together. The funniest part was the 1st day, when the male (which was the fastest to assume attack possitions.) was sleeping on my bed, in the mean time the black kitten curled up and fell asleep on top of him, anyhow, at some point the male wakes up, starts liking himself and suddenly, about a minute later, he realizes that he was brushing against the black kitten, he went from sleeper to warrior stance in a second.

So very interesting, 3 cats with tough and ANCIENT history... the last 4 videos were a very interesting and lots of knowledge 11Thanx - its a learning curve.... there is SO much to a cat !!!!

i'm not sure what breed our cats were, but the only time they really hissed was when the new litter was born and exploring for the fist time. one elder brother warmed up to them really fast tho, curling up with the six of them when mom needed a break. at first he hissed at them and they skuttled back into the makeshift den, but after the third time the kits didn't run but got closer. he didn't try to wack them, but let them tumble over him instead. the other two scrammed when the kits tryed them
Who else arrived here from Shark Week? hehe.. Kidding. At the start when the cat was crying, my cat came into the room all concerned and looking for the cat! lol.. Made me laugh. Thanks for this.
aww they are very cute. I also have 2 bengals both silvers. I was lucky I didn't have to go through all that. The 1st one i got was Miss E Snowmist when she was about 6 months from a breader. Then a few months later i got an older cat from the same breeder. This cat used to wet nurse Snowmist so they're old friends. Asia is a calm bangal that just wants me to pet her and she likes to ride backwards on my shoulder.

When I got my second cat my first was already 3 years old the new cat was a 10 week old runt of the litter and her bigger brother fell in love like immediately he sort of bent to sniff her face and she snuggled upto his belly and looked like she was nursing he just looked super confused and started grooming her and they’ve been besties ever since I didn’t think in a million years it was going to be that easy with how territorial my boy is over my attention but until somewhat recently the kitten didn’t want attention from anyone just the other cat now Luna is full grown but half her older brother binxs size I’m glad this worked out or that could have gone terribly with how small she is .

I don't think I will ever get my female Bengal to even tolerate my male Savannah. I ca't leave them in the same room together. She was here first and does't want any part of him. She runs and hides, growls, and pulls her ears back. He tries to chase her and I fear he could really hurt her. This has been happening for close to a year and have tried everything and all I can do is let each one have their time running all over the house at separate times.
The more you separate them, the less likely they will EVER come to terms with an existence together. Let them duke it out gradually, as long as it doesn't come to bloodshed. Your fears are most likely unfounded.
Although they may never really like each other, they may at least tolerate each other in the end. That makes it easier than constantly trying to keep them separate.
Some hissing and growling is not the end of the world. But remember to show each of them equal affection and give them play time with you. If they like catnip, that can be a nice distraction....
P.S. Hope they're spayed/neutered.
in part 1 you say freya is 7, in part 2 you say freya is 8, and in this one you say freya is 9?

+The Cat Behaviour Channel Curious if all 3 cats are now totally comfortable around one another? Chatzi is obviously the dominant cat, even at his young age, but is the older male (Teego) content with not being the dominant cat?
