I met Tommy Cash twice.
Nicest guy. Played a little guitar after the show and autograph signings.
Ike himself should have been a big star geez he was good.
Lightnin Hopkins Ike was pretty well-known in his day, alongside people like Merle Travis and Doc Watson. I’d argue that he just became less relevant as he got older, as happens with most stars. But since the Everly Brothers appear to have stood the test of time, he seems particularly less relevant in comparison.
He was great at that Travis picking style of guitar playing.

Love Tommy Cash...when in the Air Force played with the guys lots of Johnny Cash songs and Tho they said I sounded like Johnny I was always trying to channel Tommy Cash's voice into those songs.

Would they really learn that whole "spontaneous" routine and recite it word perfect, in sync with the camera? It's scripted, but it's live.
It is called a studio sound stage. The mics were probably hanging from above outside the camera view.
