- So I got the Badlands ZXR 2500 winch from Harbor Freight and stuck it on my Carry On Utility Trailer. Check it out. Fabrication was necessary to mount it but it went pretty good. Hi thank you for the video. Let me ask you, I’m planning to buy one of this to pull something straight to the truck box.
Where do you recommend me to install the winch?? I can’t leave in the truck all the time, I want or need to mount it just when needed and take it off when done loading or unloading.

how wide is the steel plate you added under the winch n how thick and what type screws you use to hold the black boxes on with and what sizes drill bit did you used
in looking at the harbor freight plate 5x7. I'm guessing it's 3/8 or 1/4 thick. Screws came with the box. Not sure on the drill size. Sorry
Ever thought about just using the trailer lights connector to power the winch
I had but after talking to some folks it wasn't advised because the wire is to small to handle the load. I may over the winter run the wire I am using to connect from the battery to the winch and run it from the engine bay under the truck so I don't have to keep pulling out the wire to hook it up. Just less time on the boat ramp. Thanks for watching!!

Mine goes click fuckin click click click click click.,then maybe it dont click at all, then click click click click. Clutch goes from free spool to lock but I don't believe it's ever gone into drive the winch cable up! Who the fucck knows! Cause everybody's else goes ruuummm ruuummm ruuummm.
Yeah sounds like you got a messed up one. Im always skeptical about Harbor Freight stuff but the reviews were pretty good on it. So I bucked for it.
